    Pros +

    • Lovely pool, great food( we were half board), friendly & v comfortable
    • Nice, comfy rooms. Friendly helpful, staff. Quiet location. Perfect for exploring Cabo de Gata. Close to the beautiful beaches.
    • A lovely hotel in a wonderful area. Close to beaches. Walking distance to Rodalquilar which is charming. The pool area was lovely and the stars at night were a treat.

    Cons -

    • The light in the room could be better.
    • Restaurant staff were excellent but others a little brusque and not welcomingAs the hotel is a base for walkers some recognition of this would be nice e.g early breakfast offer pack lunch if taking extra from breakfast is frowned upon
    • Thankfully we only stopped one night. The price we paid was way too expensive for this very tired and dated hotel. It is described as 4* which is a gross inaccuracy. There was a horrendous smell of the drains in the room after using the shower. I would definitely NOT recommend.

Near to the pretty village of Rodalquilar. Note that it's around an 800m walk on a road which is unlit. You'll need a torch during hours of darkness.

Thankfully we only stopped one night. The price we paid was way too expensive for this very tired and dated hotel. It is described as 4* which is a gross inaccuracy. There was a horrendous smell of the drains in the room after using the shower. I would definitely NOT recommend.

We loved the quiet location. Somewhere where you could see the stars. It is only a short walk to Rodalquillar village. Nice bars, food shops, artwork and craft market. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast very good. We had dinner one night. The menu of the day has plenty of choice.Very pleasant and good value for money including the wine. Gluten free bread for one of our group. Pool area has beautiful views of the mountains.

    Location

The cold restaurant (I'm not talking about temperature) and the lack of cosy terras where one could have had a chilly beer or wine. So, you walk out and consume elsewhere.

not much. architecture of the place is interesting.

Our rooms were next to common pool toilets and we did not appreciate the smell. Both rooms were infested with flies and we had to fight them off the whole time. In general, hotel needs a complete renovation. Everything is outdated and doesn’t look clean. Dinner was very basic and everything was frozen. Staff is less then interested to help and only the absolute minimum.

Very Spanish breakfast Great location, the village of Rodalquilar is lovely

The eggs at breakfast should be cooked to order

We really liked the surrounding Cabo de Gata landscape and Rodalquilar which had more interesting and artsy atmosphere than San Jose, with good restaurants and even a bio shop. The hotel had all the necessary facilities, including a spa. Swimming pool area was very nice. Really good breakfast selection. Very good restaurant just next door (we didn't have dinner but it's possible). If you do not travel by car it is good to know the hotel is a bit out of town. We took a taxi to get there from Almeria. It is only 10 mins walk from Rodalquilar and 30 mins walk to the el Playazo beach but on a road in the middle of an arid landscape so walking can be hot during the day and not advisable after dark (cars).

beautiful hotel, great location. absolute tranquility. restaurant was fantastic with great prices and a lot of area outside to sit and have a drink in the shade .

the only thing was the blind. it was so thin that it was see through so the sun shone brightly in the morning and we couldn’t sleep.

felt spacious ,loved the water features and the over all design ,very good breakfast friendly staff good location for exploring the areapool area lovely At night the stars were clear

It was a spa hotel whose spa was fully booked ( bar an 8pm space) This was a shame.Sadly a toilet next to the pool was revolting- an accident apparently- and it had not been sealed off.it would probably be better if dogs were on leads on the site

stunning location with great pool, lovely massage and nice set menu in restaurant (more choice would be good)

The surroundings are wonderful, near there is a sheepfold so if u don't like the smell could be a problem in the evening and morning, personally I enjoyed, room very clean and a quiet area.

the room was a little bit dark for my taste, breakfast not so consistent and u have to fulfil a list for it a day before, dinner not a la carte, dishes are change every day but the list is too short. We have code (fish) one day and it was made from freezed fish, when the sea is at 500m and full of fishes ...

The spa is great as well as the massage! The staff in the spa was lovely. The pool and outdoor area is very nice. The breakfast which you have to select the day before was plenty and good.

The room furniture and decor is old-fashioned. The headboard is quite dangerous. We had dinner which was not great unfortunately. The burger was very tasteless and made of cheap ingredients but was quite expensive for that. This was definitely not good value for what we paid.We didn’t enjoy the location as it is in the middle if nowhere and we couldn’t really walk to the village close by as we had a stroller and there was no foot path (only the main road to walk on) but the location is just personal preference.

    Looks beautiful

No warm water during the morning (it was bad weather), so we had to check out without the possibility to shower and brush teeth. They offered no compensation for this.

the outdoor facilities of the hotel were well maintained (entrance, garden, pool)the location was good to explore Cabo de Gatathe staff was nice

there was no actual balcony, it was more like a half square meter logia and the part that was supposed to be open was actually blocked by a grid - rather unpleasant the bed was somewhat uncomfortablethe bathroom was constantly humid although there was a small window that we opened regularly, it would be better if there was a ventilation systemthe breakfast was disappointing in terms of qualitynone of the above would be a real problem, if the room came with a more modest price

    7Nor007Posted on: 8-22-2021

    Proper bedrooms, friendly staff

Breakfast is very poor, limited service, no terrasse.

    9AvrilPosted on: 6-12-2021

The location is ideal for exploring the Cabo de Gata area. It’s a ten minute stroll into lovely Rodalquilar and 25 mins walk to the beach. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the complex itself is nicely arranged with good pool and lots of art adorns the hotelIn the restaurant they made up a special vegetarian menu each night with original and tasty dishesAll the staff we met were friendly and helpful

Unfortunately I didn’t think to pre book a treatment from the spa complex so I was disappointed not to be able to have a massageFor breakfast I would have preferred freshly squeezed orange juice There is nothing else I didn’t like
