I am fully aware that this is a budget hotel, but this does not excuse the basic issues we encountered during our stay. I have stayed in many Accor properties over the years, including budget brands, and I have never experienced anything comparable.The room was extremely cold when we arrived late at night. The heating was blowing only cold air, and the window could not be properly closed due to a visible gap letting freezing air into the room. Because of this, the room never warmed up. My wife, who was already unwell, had to sleep fully dressed and in her jacket. Taking a shower in these conditions was impossible.The attached photos show both the gaps in the window and the extent to which the handle could actually be closed.In a 3‑person room, one bed was left completely unprepared — the bedding was left in packaging, and I had to make the top bunk myself. The hotel later stated that this is their “policy”. This is not only unacceptable, but it also means the hotel openly admits that it does not provide what is advertised. I booked a 3‑person room, not a 2‑person room with a DIY bed. Guests are not responsible for housekeeping tasks, regardless of the hotel category.Additionally, only one large and one small towel were provided for three people, and the hotel did not address this at all in their response.I contacted the hotel afterwards, but they denied the issues despite clear photographic evidence. Booking.com eventually provided a partial refund from their own funds, as the hotel refused to take responsibility.I book dozens of hotels every year, and this was by far the worst hotel experience I have had in a very long time and I strongly advise everyone to avoid this property.

Staff were friendly, room was fine and it was good value for money.

Breakfast was pretty good overall but there could have been a few more options eg non-dairy milk and margarine, and a nicer fruit salad.

Large family room.

Not many plug sockets in the room. The bedding wasn’t put on all the beds.

Value for money, free Wi-Fi and parking. Easy to check in and a central location for onward travel. Comfortable beds. Shower was warm and powerful.

We booked for breakfast as we were told it started at 7am but by 7.15 the doors had not been opened and we needed to leave for the next part of our journey. Disappointed but won’t stop us staying again, we just won’t pay for breakfast.

The price is very good and the location is convenient for an overnight stay during a long trip. Convenient parking.

I understand that much of the lowered standard of convenience, hospitality and general niceness can be attributed to the low price point, but not all of it. The biggest negative point would be the ventilation system (ie. basically a built-in hole within a window frame) which is designed to bring a bit of fresh air constantly even after you switch off the air conditioning. Might be a good idea for summer, but not so much in colder months.

Low prices

I forgot my earbuds that did cost over 100€ in the room and when I came back to the hotel, they told me that, that the housekeeping did take it with them.The receptionist promised me to send the earbuds per mail to my living address, but I have not received anything yet. I did send email twice to them but without any response.

Perfect for one night stay in our travel, exactly what we needed a clean, comfortable space, spacious and with parking on premises. Ideal to split our road trip!

Hotel not available during nigth...

After notifying hotel that I flight was delayed and I will come late finally I arrived at 1am. Hotel was closed and self service machine was not working, after 45 minutes of calls to remote hotel help hotel's manager was not reachable and my accommodation was not possible. In the middle of the nigth I had to look for different hotel. Even though hotel promised to wire back prepaid 100% fee nothing was returned and nobody is answering emails. Such bad treatment of customer I have never met before. Person working at reception confirmed that self service machine is often not working but nobody is reapairing it... have a good stay at such "professional" hotel...

When reviewing a hotel it is essential to based ratings on the price. You cannot compare with hotels that cost 2 or 3 times more. For the price, this simple Ibis hotel is excellent value for money. Of course the rooms are very small and there is no desk, but it is clean and suitable for a single guest or even a couple for a quick overnight stop while on the road. The bathroom was fairly large and the bed comfortable. We have stayed at other Ibis hotels with better designed rooms in the past, but for the price it is hard to be too critical. The staff was extremely friendly. Thank you!

Unfortunately we were forced to pay twice. The check in machine forced us to pay again, although we have already paid with booking.comThe stuff told us to contact the organizational team with an email address but none is responding since a week.

Budget hotel with everything you need for a nights sleep. Easy check-in and secure car park.

Nice family room with 2 bathrooms.Basic but good value for just 1 night

I booked for 4 people but there were only 2 beds made. We arrived late and tired and I had to make the other 2 beds up. If you book for 4 people you'd expect to have 4 beds ready!

Bad

The self checking required a second full payment. Neither booking.com customer service nor ibis is careing much. This is just unacceptable. The stay in general was fine.

Cheap for one night stay. Near the city centre.

Very small rooms, after 22:00 reception is closed and if you arrive late, you need to make a self check in.

Price and location

It took me by surprise when the door was locked with nobody in reception. After a while I figured out that the code for the door lock was sent and I got to my room.

Conveniently located and cheap. The breakfast had a nutella dispenser! Lovely walk to the nearby castle as well.

Some hair in the bed.

Breakfast was ok. Nothing amazing, but for the price, I’d said ok. The city of Forbach where the hotel is can be decribed as … well not exactly pleasant.

The rooms are really small. But again, for the price it was acceptable for one night rest.

Clean. Quiet. Checking in gentleman made huge effort to get us a quiet room.

Leftover of someone's picnic under bed. Only one small pillow each.
