Pros +
- Staff were good and location. Bed was comfortable
- The hotel is in a good location unfortunately when we were there a fair was in the square making the town noisy
- The restaurant attached to the hotel meant once I arrived I didn't have to go out again. For the price it was excellent all round. The location was superb, and my window afforded me beautiful views of the historic town square
Cons -
- Bathroom and room full of flies need to make sure some has flies sparked the room before some stops in it otherwise facilities good
- The staff were not at all friendly or welcoming. The rooms were small and boxy.Finding somewhere to park took us ages, this was due to the fair.It is difficult to sleep with a fair ground ride appearing over the roof top every couple of seconds.Someone could have informed us the fair was in the main square and we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere.
- Not the hotel's fault, but if you arrive by car you have to hope you can park somewhere nearby. I was okay, but at busy times of year it might be a problem.

This hotel is comfortable and very pleasantly situated on the main square in Bethune. The staff are super nice, friendly and helpful. Initial anxieties about the loud bells from the bell tower spoiling our sleep were allayed when we realised they do not chime in the night or early in the morning. There is a good restaurant downstairs with once again lovely helpful staff. We didn’t stay for Breakfast as we were en route to the tunnel which is just over an hour’s drive.
Everything was fine.
The welcome and service is always amazing; they make you feel at home. It's a very central location and this time we can at Xmas, with the market and therefore one of the busiest times of the year. The restaurant downstairs was packed, the staff were on their knees, but they had time for us and treated us well. The room met expectations - spacious and comfortable. Any additions we would need can be met given the location at the centre of the city.
The noise - they can't really do much about it, you're on the main town plazza... so don't expect a quiet night. The wifi still leaves a bit to desire and when my husband got on with his, it wasn't safe. My Apple devices simply refused to allow the connection.
Unusual to find a comfortable small family type hotel .Right on the towns main square ,but quiet during the night .Friendly helpful staff.Clean modern rooms and an excellent restaurant serving a great variety of dishes both traditional and modern .A real treat was breakfast was available until 10.a.m. We hope to return some day .
The restaurant found it difficult to offer allium free food .Otherwise it was excellent.
Position. Lively restaurant. Good value food. Large room overlooking the main square. Parking nearby but expensive (over 20 euro for the night)
Room smelt of old cigarette smoke and bathroom had terrible smell of drains. Very creaky floor! Terrible WiFi couldn’t get on the hotel network, used the town public free wifi that wasn’t bad
Very well managed hotel.
I was not able to sleep. There is a club next door and they played loud dance music until 4 am. It was horrible. It was a shame because the hotel is so nice.
Situated right in the centre of the town, overlooking the Grand'Place. Welcoming staff. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast buffet, and lovely evening meal with good choice at good price. Manage very helpful.
Shower was hand-held over the bath.
The location was good. Lovely view over the square. Good to have a lift. Bed very comfortable. Shower excellent. Restaurant great food and reasonable. Learned about ‘Welsh’ a local dish introduced by the Welsh. Reception excellent and helpful.
Parking not free except overnight. However the receptionist explained that after 6pm no charge as a public car park. It wasn’t that expensive but in high season would be an issue. Woken by some ‘happy’ pub drinkers so had there been air con the window would have been closed.
Bike storage and hot shower
Breakfast was limited
Location was great, shower was powerful, good value, secure indoor storage for our bicycles. Staff very friendly.
WiFi was poor, breakfast was ok
Location was excellent as a base for the places we wanted to visit on our trip. The town was lively and full of character. We had two evening meals at the hotel which which were very good. Breakfast had a good range of things to meet most tastes. Staff were very pleasant and clearly worked very hard. The room was made up and cleaned everyday, we only saw one room maid so credit to her for what she did.
Our room was a decent size but in need of a make over. There was a drain smell throughout our stay from the bathroom. The bath panel was broken and there was no shower curtain across the bath. The hairdryer was cracked so in my view not safe to use.
Superb location overlooking main square with plenty of life till early hours. Cafe's, restaurants, bars all on the doorstep. Some lovely archetecture and places of interest surounds this delightful hotel
The shower was excellent. The hotel was very relaxed. The lift was a bonus.
The room was a bit small but I didn’t expect a bigger room for the excellent price
Central, helpful friendly staff
No kettle or cups
Excellent location, friendly staff great restaurant. Superb Breakfast
Room overlooking a busy square. Great location for a lively atmosphere.
No kettle. Other than that, a great stay.
Great location in the market square I Béthune.
Friendly staff, spotless room and great location
Excellent location looking out onto a delightful market square. The restaurant provides delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff were very welcoming and even upgraded our room free of charge. We are returning for another night soon on our way to the Alps.
