Pros +
- Very good location, near central square and car park
- Good location at town centre. Super staff and good communication before our stay. Comfortable bed. Good value.
- Public areas were attractively decorated, location for main square was good. Rooms clean was comfortable enough, quiet.
Cons -
- The website says check in time is from 3pm on Saturday, but there's a sign on the locked front door saying 'reception is closed 12pm-5pm'. What kind of hotel is that? We're back on 5pm, still closed. Luckily, other guests inside let us in. Our room key was left next to the lift. Apparently, it's a self check in hotel. No staff, lobby dead. We found out in the room leaflet that we should've received a code to open the front door before our arrival. But we never received the code. We almost had nowhere to stay.
- Nothing not to like.
- Road works on roads surrounding hotel and public car parking. Not notified of this. No reception staff in hotel ( not notified of this). A sign on window gave a phone number to ring, a code was used to get into an empty hotel. No bar open, no staff present at all. We were left a key at reception with our name attached. No notice of this arrangement was sent to us. Public Parking was expensive.

Staff were excellent. Easy parking, free 6.30pm-8am. Great breakfast. Great location. Very quiet at night due to room overlooking courtyard not street. Good shower and bathroom.
I thought I had booked a bigger room with booking.com upgrade so was surprised to be in a very small Budget room. The bed was pretty hard (although, to be fair, that's better than too soft).
Good location, eVerything worked out fine.
I have stayed many times in this hotel. Just this particular room was not up to the usual standard. The bathroom is in need of updating.
Friendly staff, homely feel and in a fantastic location for the town with parking just adjacent to the property. The shower was powerful and the mattress nice and firm which is my personal preference. We’ve stayed before and will certainly be staying again.
Wonderfully positioned close to the Main Square of this beautiful town. Next to a parking lot, no difficulty in finding parking.
Room a bit small, but then, not very expensive.
Location good, Breakfast not much left available but what was there was good.
Slightly larger room.
I have stayed here several times, always a nice place to stay. Friendly staff and they allow my motorcycle to be inside their courtyard at night. The rooms are nice with good showers and always clean. It's a stones throw from the Grand Place so easy to find a nice brasserie for beer and eating. Breakfast has lots of choice and you can fill up for the day. I will return again.
Close your city center.Fair value for money.
Pillows are very thin.
A great end to our roadtrip,as an overnight break from Belgium to Calais, this was a hidden gem. Bethune is a beautiful town, the main square being a very short walk from The Eden Hotel. easy to find hotel with a public car park literally over the road.
Carparking was stupidly expensive, 35 euros for a maximum stay of 4 .5 hours. luckily we were there on a Saturday and took our chances. do not park under the trees( dunno what the pigeons eat here!.) Nothing to complain about the Eden Hotel though.
Good breakfast, on the expensive side.
Booking in errors.Gave advice on twin room as 14 but it was room 16.Name of Abbot translated as Abbé, didn’t realise it was the same, so had to wait 90 minutes for reception to arrive.Phone number not answered.
Location great. Breakfast good
The only window of the room opens onto a corridor, no external windows for ventilation.
Great location, very close to all the restaurants and bars and parking outside in the square. Isabel was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ample to set us up for the rest of our journey. Thank you!
Room and bathroom lacked ventilation so made it quite hot.
Excellent location, rooms were good enough, staff very helpful and went out of the way for secure parking for motos . Will use this hotel again
Very centrally located. Ample car parking opposite.
The first two rooms we were given were not to the standard we would expect. One was tiny with no windows one stunk of smoke (despite being no smoking). Bizarrely it also had the shower cubicle in the bedroom! The lady at reception was more than helpful though and changed rooms for us. Hotel is just behind the main town square which was ideal but also meant it was rather noisy when trying to sleep. Overall I would say it was satisfactory.
Location to the centre for the restaurants and size of the bed in room 104. Bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the fan in our room.
Shower curtain was black and mouldy. And a ‘ water jet cover’ in the jacuzzi bath was broken showing mould, dirt. Part of the bath sealant was blackened with mould .
Excellent location to town centre and close to A26. Parking available opposite the hotel.
Convenient for town centre, short walk to main square bars, restaurants etc
Nothing to dislike, the rooms were fine and comfortable. I preferred the ground floor rooms we had on this visit
The owner provided us with secure motorcycle parking, location is ideal for the town square, room was basic but adequate for our 1 night stay. Great price
The access to the room was via a long spiral staircase that was outside and slippy when wet, there was also a lift buy that led to a dark corridor
