Themis Beach Hotel

The proximity to the beach and ocean views looked perfect while we enjoyed a very generous breakfast buffet with 5 or six different stations or bars. I don't understand why other reviews complained about lack of variety. We didn't find anything lacking. We cannot comment on the pool since arrived in the middle of the night and unfortunately left before experiencing the beach or the pool. The staff was very helpful and responsive when we originally contacted them about late check-in and then about extending our stay since health problems had arisen that would prevent our venturing out on some of the excursions we had hoped to enjoy around other areas. They even offered to ask a doctor come to see my husband at the hotel.

The sewer backed up through the floor in the bathroom. Maintenance came but could not fix at that hour so the staff moved us to another room. The smell there was just as strong like sewer water or rotten eggs. With the infection my husband was battling on his leg we didn't need to risk being exposed to anything of this nature so we spent a few hours in the comfortable bed to rest up from a long trip getting to Crete, but opted to check out the next morning and move to a hotel nearer to hospitals in The city of Heraklion. Hopefully the Themis got their problems with drain back ups resolved. The staff graciously helped us get a taxi and to translate some messages we were getting from Cosmote, our Greek phone sim carrier while traveling.

Very old elevators - food just ok- could not get coffee at the lobby until 6 pm - you had to go to the pool and could not charge to the room because their computers were not connected- you had to pay for the safe and opened with old key

1. Hot water problem - many times we didn't have hot water2. Pettiness - 2 euro per day for a safe, 1 euro for a pool towel.It was very strange for 4 stars hotel

We stayed one night only. Great value for money. Very good breakfast. Not sure if such type of the hotel would suit us for longer stay, as we prefer boutique hotels better. But Themis hotel has it all, depending on your preferences.

It is close to the airport, just 10 minutes away. The view from the room is excellent. The room is big enough and well equiped.

The shower was not hot enough and the water current was very weak.

Nice breakfast buffet with lots of choice, amazing pool, very clean and location was convenient for airport and some nice tavernas.

The air-con in the room wasn’t too good, fine for our stay in September but if we came in peak summer the room would have been very hot even with the AC.

Clean territory, pleasant water in the pool and a nice sandy beach available. Overall a quiet hotel with friendly staff. The neighborhood is nice, some cafes and shops are nearby. Breakfast was ok, there was something to choose from, but it was the same every day. Location is perfect, only about 15 minutes from the airport.

There is nothing for kids to do there except the pool. There was a small children's playground, but next to the toilets and some building what appeared to be a sewage system building. There was a smell and the ground there was wet and soaked with some kind of sewage liquid, or i dont know what...something black. The child got in while running to the playground, terribly. We didn't go there anymore.We didn't really like the dinner, the food changed a little every day, but we expected something better and often had dinner outside. This is, of course, a matter of taste. It would have been better for us to choose to taste it on the first day and only then take HB or AI, but unfortunately, the staff did not allowed us to cancel.

Its just 10-15 minutes drive from airport.

Air condition was not working. Hotel staff tried to fix the key issue. But AC was off the next day. Even when it was on, the minimum possible temperature is 24 degrees, and even then its not cooling the room.Wifi is very slow and even not accessible from room balcony.

From the moment I entered the staff from reception were friendly, smiling and ready to assist you.I got an upgrade to a sea view room which was stunning and you could have a perfect view of the sunset!Spacious room, clean, renovated bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very generous and you could choose from a different kind of food, even french fries?.They helped me with the transfer to airport too, they kept my luggage till late and I could use the facilities even tho I did the check out.The hospitality was very good , approachable staff and helpful!Good choice to stay there even if it was only one night! I will return there!

There is nothing which I did not likey

The rooms were clean, spacious and fit our needs (except for the AC). Breakfast was ok, would’ve appreciated more Greek foods on offer and a bigger selection in general. Staff were friendly and helpful - they gave us recommendations on where to eat in the neighbourhood and called taxis for us when needed.

The air conditioning in both of our rooms was extremely weak making it uncomfortable to spend time inside and it was too hot to sleep. We were told the AC would be fixed in a couple days but that got pushed back so we didn’t have proper AC the entirety of our trip.

Very clean, great pool along with a very nice private beach. The view is amazing, the staff are super nice and helpful. Would highly recommend for a weekend getaway :)

We arrived and received a room with a very poor AC (centralised, barely working), it was impossible falling asleep. The morning afterwards the super nice staff helped us and moved us to a room with a new AC and the rest of the stay was great. I know not all rooms have a new AC and that we had luck.. I think if the Hotel management replaces the ACs in all rooms, this is a 9+ hotel

The facility was great - next to the beach; the pool is also beautiful. Although we did not take advantage of it, meals are available as an option.

Using Apple Map took me to a different location although Google Map was more accurate. The signage for Themis Hotel was also hidden from the main road so took several tries driving before finally get to the correct street. AC did not work as well in our room and when I inquired about it, was told that it was due to being "central" controlled depending on the ambient temperature and that there is no way of adjusting it in the room.

First of all hospitality and professionalism. Food was great, many options and very delicious. Room was very good, fantastic view and very clean. Room service evry day with changing sheets and towels every second day. Local transportation was good,fast and cheap. Close to beautifull beaches and Heraklion.

Room was not sound proof but we weren't bothered. One day was cold outside and I didn't manage to rutn on the heating but it wasn''t necessary, there was a blanket and a quilt for the night and I have to say thah we are very winter threatened.
