Amazing staff and outstanding price for two rooms.

The train to beppu is close, and the staff are very nice. There is a free parking lot. Very affordable.

The room smelled from cleaning supplies very much. Most restaurants around the hotel closes early.

Staff was so helpful in assisting us and the hotel, rooms and restaurant were all very nicely decorated and easy to access and use. Nice amenities provided along with lemon water and coffee. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Fico Hotel is new and conveniently located near Harmony Land in Hiji. I had a great rest at the hotel, enjoyed the breakfast, and appreciated the friendly staff.

"The hotel rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed and equipped with everything you might need. We stayed for one night, which was perfect for doing some laundry and enjoying a restful sleep on the comfortable beds. The parking, conveniently located a short walk from the hotel, was included in the price, making the stay even more convenient."

Unfortunately, the noise from departing guests could be heard in the rooms. While this wasn't the hotel's fault, it was disappointing to encounter such inconsiderate behaviour from other guests.

They are very eco friendly first. You have a fridge in your room that actually works, there's a freezer compartment and things stay frozen (it does take time) but they stay frozen. The kettle and hair dryer are located on the study desk with chair. You get a humidifier with air purifier which I really love. Heat from air conditioning works well too. There is a space for eating downstairs and it is okay. The front desk is 24 hours! 2 laundry machines that can wash and dry up to 6kg of clothes I think, for 500yen is a steal. The decor is pretty nice and the meeting room and gym is fairly new, I've not seen anyone using it.

It is unfortunate that in the area, no matter how luxurious the hotels are, have toilets with the bathroom, it is inevitable. The toilets ventilation doesn't seem to work that well because the condensation doesn't dry out as quick. There is a weird dirty smudge right at the bottom of lamp at the mirror inside the toilet. You need to pass the room key to indicate you need housekeeping and you need to get your breakfast ticket daily and indicate the time you are having breakfast. The free eating space only has microwave provided and sometimes not even the trash bin, I guess you bring it up to your room? The microwave is next to the laundry machine because I think the eating space closes. There's not a lot of space for you to sort out your meal. There is only 2 laundry machines, it takes 2 hours for a load to finish and some guests couldn't really use it because I was hogging it every other day. I do wish there was an app or indication to check before heading downstairs to the lobby, past the front desk, with your load of laundry, only to find out it's occupied. Amenities are all located next to the lift, so grab what you need or can before heading up to your room. I think they only have 2 bicycles and you can only rent for 2hrs. The areas in surrounding here are definitely car or bicycle driving distance, it takes about 14 minutes to leisurely walk to the train station.

The room is bright and the bed is comfortable. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Good noise insulation. Great breakfast.

A bit remote but lucky that it’s right next to the Main Street. You didn’t need to go inside those dark alleys at night. Lots of insects stick on the entrance doors.

We family stayed here one night after visiting Harmony Land. The room is compact but clean and our daughters love the bunk bed. Breakfast is great.

The breakfast was quite good and there were lots of choices. The coffee was good and you could get a strong coffee unlike in some other places we tried. Everything was super clean and looked very new.

Excellent stay! Great deal for that price. 10-15mins by walk from Yokoku station, so it was easy to travel to Beppu or other cities. Also close to the Hiji Castle ruins, where you can take a walk by the sea. The area was super quite but with great places to eat. The staff was very nice and spoke english. Excellent breakfast for 500yen/person. Totally reccomend!!

The room was a little bit tiny, so if you want to rest there for a bit, it might be not comfortable for someone.

The staff were amazing! The two ladies checking us in were genuinely wonderful and really contributed to us enjoying our stay- thank you! We discussed dinner options and they made us a reservation. The gentleman at check out the next day was also very pleasant. Breakfast was better than a business hotel and was being replenished frequently. The facilities were exceptionally clean. Our room was advertised as compact, which it was but my daughter and I could share the bed and as we had carry on it wasn’t a problem. Perhaps some foreign travellers may struggle but we were perfectly fine. I felt safe alone with my daughter. Double glazed windows kept the sound out from the road which we really appreciated.

Location might be a bit out of the way if you haven't got a car.

Small hotel, but it provided everything with great comfort! The staff and service were exceptional— and even put on a complimentary cocktail hour— very cute!
