Pros +
- Staff could not be kinder. We have an upgraded room with more than a balcony: a ten by 15 foot terrace overlooking spectacular skies and water.
- The staff were fantastic! We stayed in the Superior Double room and it had incredible views! The hotel is right on the beach and close to the gondola to take you to town. We will definitely stay there again.
- We loved our stay here, though this isn’t a luxury hotel. It’s right on the beach, and I’d made an error in our dates and asked for an upgrade as we didn’t stay one of the nights we paid for. They gave us a balcony oceanfront room on the main floor, which had a covered balcony. We liked it so much we added another night. The view is lovely. The hotel is from the 1960’s - they even have the same bamboo rockers my mother in law had in her 1960’s Minnesota home. The furnishings are from then too. I found it charming, with retro personality but that’s not everyone’s taste. I liked the “historic” nature of the hotel. It’s a narrow building, so every room overlooks the ocean, but only some have balconies. We are 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts in the lovely tree-canopied patio. We really enjoyed the food and the selection. The front desk staff was very pleasant as was the restaurant staff - in our two weeks in Sicily, their waiters were the nicest (even though I asked for Parmesan on my clam spaghetti, knowing cheese and fish is a faux pas in Italy.) We love quiet and this hotel had it. We swam in the ocean in early November and enjoyed the beach. Taormina was too touristy for our tastes, so we appreciated being in the area but away from the crowds. Appreciated the parking lot and that the hotel is right on the beach, with the road behind.
Cons -
- The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen. Mere inches between my knees when on the toilet and the shower doors in front and bidet to the side. We managed but persons 6 foot plus, I don't think, could manage it.
- The bathroom is very small and dated. The shower doors make it hard not to get water on the floor. A kettle would be nice.
- It was very old and dated. Clean but a little old to be comfortable. The bathroom was a tight squeeze.

The location was amazing, right on the beach. The view from the balcony made it all worth it.

The beach was lovely and the patio was beautiful
The location and proximity to the cable car to get up to Taormina. The walk to cable car was extremely difficult and along a very winding & dangerous two way road. You are literally walking in the street alongside cars that are whizzing by. The distance was greater than what is listed on their website.
Very cute and charming, so many lovely design details. Staff was very helpful, kind, and accommodating.
Good location on the beachfront but had to take the taxi into town every day for at least 20€ each way.
The property was beachfront with its own private beach, terrace overlooking the water and parking. I was so impressed with the view! The bed was comfortable and we didn’t have to pay extra for parking. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. The food on the Terrance was excellent. The rooms were not modern but it added to the charm of the hotel. I would 10000% stay here again.
Hotel Lido Mediterranée in Taormina is a charming 4-star beachfront property nestled in one of the town’s picturesque bays. Here's a detailed look at what it offers:• Rooms offer stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, visible through French doors or private balconies.• The hotel is located directly on the beach, with panoramic vistas of the bay and coastline. The restaurant is amazing.the Staff is "The staff were incredibly kind and attentive — they made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Always ready to help, and genuinely warm. It really added to the whole experience."
Breakfast was nice with a good selection. The waterfront location was amazing.
Old. very old. The bathrooms, common areas, and furniture are so old from a different century. A terrible smell in the common/seating room. in need of renovation.
The hotel is very clean, comfortable and beautiful beach is very nice is always a chair available and the the breakfast is very good all the stuff is good also.
That they don’t have iron for the clothes is a special service
Very nice vintage hotel. The facilites have its years, but are very well maintained. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent!
We stayed for a week. Upon arrival, there was a basket of fruit in our room. In this hotel, you will find true Sicilian style in the interior – bright color combinations, wooden furniture, curtains, chandeliers, and wall sconces. Arched doorways and windows. Plenty of greenery and flowers. Our room had a sea view, was comfortable, and the bed, pillows, and bed linens were excellent. The slippers and toiletries (shower gel, soap) were of great quality. From the very first minutes of our stay, we were surrounded by care and attention. We would like to highlight Salvatore Spadaro at reception – highly professional and attentive, and Sergey – polite, sincere, always ready to help and solve any problem. In the restaurant, the waiters were friendly: Roberto, always cheerful, helpful, and professional; Francesco (also at reception), attentive and kind; and Alessandro, sweet and pleasant. The staff creates an atmosphere of comfort and genuine Sicilian hospitality. The restaurant’s cuisine is wonderful, with healthy breakfasts. We would also like to note the perfect cleaning service (Sara). Many thanks to all who make a stay at this hotel comfortable and unforgettable! And also to the General Manager, Giuseppe Trefiletti.
The property was great close to everything, clean, and the staff was so friendly and helpful
Convenience of beachfront and access to lidos.
A little dated but very clean.
The location of the hotel was a plus. The hotel was very charming. The restaurant is fine dining
Some areas of the hotel are outdated especially the bathroom in the rooms
This hotel located in a fantastic place right in the first line. All necessary beach stuff is in hotel. All staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Be ready that this hotel is not a modern one but everything is in good condition
There was no place to dry swim suites in the room and no anti-moskito stuff
It is situated in the quieter side of Taormina. Beautiful hotel with a unique vintage style. The hotel has a private beach also. Beautiful sea view from our room. Plenty options in the breakfast. Rooms were cleaned by the lovely staffs meticulously everyday. You can sit, relax , enjoy and just go with the flow ☺️
The staff is so kind and helpful. The team that checked us in made it so easy and they were extremely patient. We were 9 people and it went smoothly. The rooms and our view was beautiful.
Nothing. We loved everything, rooms, food, staff, location was perfect.
We felt welcomed and very cozy. The place is super traditional with old interiors, but nicely located for beachfront . Felt like in the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel
All good, a bit old but cute
The staff was very helpful. The private beach was great and the location was great!
