Villa Sant'Andrea, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina Mare

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, grounds and beach area. Private beach and pool are a 10+. The complimentary boat ride was great fascinating, beautiful, and we got to swim.

Room 301 has a huge step going into the bathroom that is hard to see. My hubby went flying into the glass shower door. Should be fixed. In the United States, this could potentially be a huge lawsuit. Don?t know how Italy works.

Both Villa Sant Andrea and sister property Hotel Timeo was over expectations, we had dinner in both restaurants and the view and food was exceptional. Also beach club in Villa Sant Andrea was simply gorgeous, we had an also room upgrade thanks to kindness of reservation team. Overall, reallly enjoyed our stay and definitely will go back to this paradise!

I had the BEST experience ever in my life, staff were amazing, hotel location is just fantastic, clean beach area with the best service, room and terrace were very clean. BUT, compared the price, room was veeeeeery small even though it was a premium room the terrace was even bigger than the room.

The staff was amazing, truly the best I've ever experienced. Warm, friendly and very professional, happy to accomodate absolutely anything we asked for. Although it's an expensive hotel, it was worth it and the complimentary little surprises - complimentary evian facial spray at the beach, granita and biscuits, Easter cake delivered to our room - made it feel very special and good value.

The location is on the coast so you had to take a taxi or the complimentary shuttle to the town which is perched on top of the hill. You could walk if you were fit and energetic! We preferred the beachside setting with panormaic views across to Italy. The hotel is beautiful and the staff outstanding.

Rooms are quite small and there was only room for one luggage rack which was challenging because we were coming from the USA for 10 days with 2 large suitcases

Excellent room, beautiful view of the water. The hotel restaurant with indoor and outdoor views were perfect. Everything about the hotel itself from the small details in the room to the pool to the beach club were well thought out and felt luxurious.

When we went, the weather was stormy on our first day. This meant that the beach was closed (no problem). However the next day when the weather was nicer the hotel didn’t open the beach. They had men working to bring down beach furniture the whole day but didn’t put out any lounge chairs or even offer towels to sit on the beach. The day after that, the beach club was open as usual and lovely. Overall I was disappointed in the decision making not to prioritize the experience of the many guests (not just us) who wanted to enjoy the beach and had to hike up to our rooms to get towels or take them from the pool.On our last day, there were tradesmen doing plaster and paint work in our hallway at around 8:30am. This was in my opinion far too early for non-essential repairs to be carried out.Overall, the hotel itself was beautiful but the decisions to not prioritize guest experience with the beach club and the repairs in the hotel were disappointing and felt like there wasn’t an engaged member of hotel management making decisions to ensure the best experience even in challenging circumstances (like the day after a rainstorm).

Everything was perfect! We were there for our honeymoon so the staff kindly upgraded us and gave us a beautiful bottle of wine that we enjoyed on our balcony. The breakfast was incredible, everything was thought out, and the attention to detail was fantastic. It's so great that you can enjoy the hotel by the sea but then also get a free shuttle up to Taormina and have access to the other Belmond hotel as well. All in all, we'll definitely be going back as we loved every minute.

Unique location with direct beach access. Very comfortable accommodations (comfy beds and spacious suite with balcony) facing the sea. Excellent food. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, taking care of our every need. Complimentary boat outing was a lovely and unexpected perk - as swimming in the Ionian Sea may be among the most delightful swimming experiences anywhere on the globe!

Due to its seaside location, the hotel is significantly smaller than its sister property. It is also prone to mold - as this odor can be detected in isolated corners where guests are not expected to venture. The hotel should pay extra special attention to this.

The property itself is beautiful - so lush and gorgeous. The private beach location was perfect for a hot July. It's about 15 minutes from town, but the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from (or you can take the cable cars). Everything from check-in to check-out was perfect.

An amazing location. Our junior suite had beautiful sea views and was one of the best places we’ve stayed. Loved the pool and beach. The staff were helpful and the food was fantastic.
