Great location close to everything in Rishikesh with amazing views of the Ganges. Good breakfast and Rohit at the breakfast area always offered great options for our dietary needs. Comfortable rooms.
The front desk was not well coordinated.
Beautiful location facing the Ganga river. The bathing ghat was right outside the back door of the hotel. The breakfast, the high tea and the yoga classes were awesome.
Each room faced the Ganga river. The view of the ghats and the ashrams/temples across the river was fabulous. The breakfast was wonderful - great variety and well made. The high tea each afternoon was a good bonus. Enjoyed the morning Yoga class.
The front of the hotel faces a busy, dusty street. The closets, doors and many fixtures are old and could be updated.
Great and welcoming staff, great location by the Ganga, wonderful facilities and services - massage, yoga classes etc and wonderful food
We had a wonderful stay at Yog Niketan. The view from the property was absolutely stunning—calming, scenic, and exactly what you hope for in Rishikesh. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and served with great hospitality. The location couldn’t be better—peaceful, right on the Ganges, and close to all the major attractions. Overall, a truly rejuvenating experience. Highly recommended!
This was the most expensive place we stayed during our 7 week India trip and it was worth it. The customer service rivals any place that we've ever stayed. The front desk, the front and rear door security, the restaurant workers (especially the manager Rohit), and random staff always provided excellent service with a smile and a "Namaste". Even though the property fronts a busy road, the back of the property overlooks the Ganges and is quite peaceful. The views from the top 2 floors are great. The rooms are big with nice amenities and a balcony. The property has a yoga studio (free morning yoga and afternoon meditation classes) and a spa (expensive). The restaurant is fantastic. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included. The quality and variety are really good, and they have stuff you can order besides the buffet items. You probably don't need to eat another meal. Front desk can arrange taxis and laundry service which is convenient. Great location - you have access out the back gate to the promenade along the ghats and river. Easy walk to the Ram Jhula and Janki Jhula.
That we couldn't stay longer.
The staff were amazing in their service, guidance and friendliness. The kitchen staff and particularly the managing chef went out of their way to cater for us. The non-verge meals were excellent.
Nothing to make an impressions.
Wow, where to I start? I've visited Rishikesh many times over the span of several decades (!). Many different types of hotels, many locations all around the town. Yog Niketan by far wins my "Favorite" award. I will never stay anywhere else again. In fact I plan to return next year with a group of friends to celebrate a big birthday, and we are all definitely staying at Yog Niketan. This location in Ram Jhule (the quieter part of town) is perfect, on the banks of Ganga. Access to the river promenade is literally out the gate, and you are there. Easy to access Ganga Aarti, a dip in the river, and long strolls all the way down to Triveni Ghat, or up to the Ram Jhule bridge. Pretty much everything is walkable. Rooms are simple and very clean, and have all the requirements of a private shower, comfortable bed and bedding, desk and chair, fan and air conditioning, and best of all, patio or balcony views over the Ganga. Sometimes I just sat and watched the world (and people, cows, rafts, etc.) go by. You can hear Ganga Aarti from across the river each evening. The restaurant is good. Flavorful wholesome food, with very accommodating staff (especially Rohit who kindly provided TLC and extra veggies for me). I liked the full breakfast, plus the afternoon tea which offered plenty of chai and a variety of food. The spa is excellent! Warmly managed by Ramesh-ji, I had 4 treatments with Dhavendra. He is very skilled and experienced and professional. Highly recommended.I'll wrap up with commendation for the front desk manager, Mr. Yajuwendra Negi. He was always genuinely smiling and super helpful. I felt right at home from arrival to departure. I also want to mention Rohit, Shikha and lillavi at the desk, who were so amazing and helpful. My only regret in this review is that I might have missed some names. Literally everyone, 100%, were so wonderful and caring. Yog Niketan is among my all-time favorite places to stay.
NOTHING!
Great view of the Ganges. Well kept garden. Hospitable staff with great breakfast. Also, very nice yoga teacher.
The staff and the food were absolutely amazing. Everyone made us feel absolutely at home and bent backwards to serve our every whim. The spa treatments were great as well
The hotel is very nice, and the staff are extremely welcoming.Yajuvendra in the front office deserves special mention, as do Rohit in the restaurant, and Ashish and Khushi in the Spa.We had a very comfortable stay for 2 nights.Highly recommended!
This was one of the best hotels I’ve been so far. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Specially the restaurant members. The food is delicious, I also got a massage at the hotel and was so relaxed.
Fantastic location, spacious rooms, wonderful staff. In particular, the Food & Beverages Manager was outstanding - and has created a delicious ginger/soda drink! He was a delight to talk to and could not have been more thoughtful. Complimentary high teas were most appreciated.
Staff is very cooperative. Yoga teacher Aparna is very good.Location is very good.Restaurant manager Rohit is very helpful and tries to personalize food to your taste.Property needs refurbishing. There is no gym and swimming pool, hence no value for money. Activities advised by paddy adventures are not value for moneyAvoid going to Rajaji National Park in this season in the afternoon. No trees, open dry river bed, and sweltering heat.Rifer rafting is enjoyable. Tty to hire taxi from outside as hotel charges are higher.
I have visited this hotel three times already. My journey first brought me here six years ago. It is truly heartwarming to experience that, over the years, the hotel’s standards have not diminished in the slightest – rather, they have only improved. The service remains warm and attentive, reflecting the true essence of Indian hospitality. The food is rich and thoughtfully prepared, taking into account various taste preferences and the principles of Ayurveda. There are lighter, mildly flavored dishes that are perfect for guests who have undergone the Panchakarma process, as well as more nourishing and spicier options for those who require more energy.Mornings here begin with a peaceful yoga practice, where the instructor guides each participant with loving care. The asanas are carefully chosen to offer a pleasant challenge for experienced practitioners while remaining perfectly suitable for those who have yet to incorporate physical practice into their daily routine. After a refreshing yoga session, sitting on the banks of the sacred Ganges bathed in golden morning light, savoring a delicious sattvic breakfast, feeling the sincere smiles of the staff, and letting oneself be carried away by the celestial sounds of the bansuri – this is true spiritual bliss, a moment where the soul feels at home.
Honestly, the hotel is not worth the money that they charge. We paid RS15398/night and i return we got a room where the bathroom shower was jot properly working, the bathroom shower door was not proper. We did a SPA, and in the end they said oh steam is not working, when they clearly said in the menu that all those are inclusive, breakfast they said it was at 7am but till 8 all the foods were not ready. Many things it was lacking. Good part is the view of the ganga river, with balcony. But definitely not worth 15k.
Location, food
Didnt get room as requested, AC in the room wasnt adjustable and the shower in the room (105) was very low water flow. Didn't find it worth the charges.
I had the pleasure of staying at a delightful hotel nestled on the serene banks of the Ganges, and I cannot sing its praises enough. From the moment I stepped foot inside, it felt like a home away from home. The perfect location by the river provided a calming atmosphere that set the tone for a truly peaceful stay. One of the highlights of my visit was the varied breakfast options offered every morning, there was something to suit every palate. The in-house spa was a sanctuary of relaxation, offering rejuvenating treatments that left me feeling pampered and refreshed. What truly set this hotel apart was its exceptional staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, every staff member went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. Their kindness and professionalism were truly commendable. As if all of this wasn't enough, the hotel also offered complimentary yoga and meditation classes. This thoughtful touch added an extra layer of tranquility to my stay and left me feeling both physically and mentally rejuvenated.I highly recommend this exceptional hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat by the Ganges. The combination of a perfect location, welcoming ambiance, top-notch amenities, and outstanding staff make it a true gem that should not be missed.
