Cons -
- 1) I killed about ten cockroaches in the room in one hour. They may have been crawling on me while I was sleeping.2) There were no towels in the room. None at all! Not a single one. This is a hotel!3) The door lock was locked with a key and opened with difficulty4) The hotel looks old and beaten. Dirty curtains, not washed for a long time. But the main thing is the cockroaches.5) There is no elevator6) On the central tourist street, you can hear sounds from the street.7) My booking.com reservation was falsely cancelled by the hotel. I have restored it and am writing this comment. 8) I paid the equivalent of $22 cash per night (3000 Nepalese rupees), but even that is too much for this. I gave the money first and then offered to give me a discount for such a low quality. The owner refused. I moved to a great hotel for a little more money and enjoying the atmosphere here. Never stay here, there are many great cheap hotels in Kathmandu!9) don't believe pictures
- The rooms can be a bit noisy at night. There was a festival for several days during our stay so that may have contributed to some of the extra noise in the area.
- The only time I could get hot water from the shower was in the middle of the day, which in Kathmandu, in the middle of summer is not exactly when I want a hot shower. However it was a minor inconvenience that I happily lived with. The other thing is the stairs, downside is that I was on the 4th floor... upside I got more cardio workout in 4 days than I have ever done in 44 years, but hey, it's good for you.

The location of hotel Bihani is in the heart of Thamel, perfect for walking to great restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was great and the staff was always very helpful and kind.

Great location in thamel, easy to walk from hotel. Very good value for price. Staff were lovely
I recently stayed at Hotel Bihani for just one day, and even though I arrived before the check-in time, I was pleasantly surprised by how efficiently they managed to accommodate me early. The staff went above and beyond to assist me, especially when it came to arranging taxis multiple times without any hesitation. The room was impeccably clean, and the hospitality of the staff stood out—they were incredibly polite and welcoming.I will definitely stay here again whenever I return to Kathmandu. The location is fantastic, and the people are warm and hospitable. A solid 10/10 to the Bihani team!
The staff were incredibly warm & welcoming, they offered so much assistance & guidance in such a family like way and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The rooms were spotless, the advertised facilities spot on. You really feel like a part of the culture instead of a "western like" seperation vibe that you get from upmarket international hotels. I can definitely recommend here, especially if you are keen to live the culture and not to just watch it. Their attached restaurant has some beautiful meals at insanely cheap prices, which they will happily bring up to your room. They also brought my luggage up & down so I didn't have to worry about it.

So friendly staffs . Room charge fair and excellent location.. best value for money
Noise a little during weekend
- Perfect location in Thamel- Late check in available
- Unable to lock door but didn’t realise this until the morning. The door would unlock without the key card, even if double locked.- Bed so soft that I couldn’t sit on it without my feet being up at shoulder level.- Only one single duvet provided across the bottom of a king bed.- When I informed the staff in the morning about the door, I was ignored. Tried to charge me 1000 rupees more than the price on booking.com.- I live in Nepal and know what to expect from hotels here but this was unfortunately the worst experience I’ve had.
Soft bed and a great shower
It was a bit noisy after 10pm due to its location
I liked everything about hotel bihani. Mainly staff and location. The location of this hotel is just more than amazing as it is located at the center of the thamel where we could get easy access to resturants, groceries and club. Hospitality of hotel bihani amazed me as the staffs were really friendly and helpful, even though its my first stay at this hotel, i felt like a home. i will visit this hotel everytime i come back to nepal forsure and gonna recommend it to everyone, Highly recommended. one of the best hotel i ever stayed. 5\5 star to this amazing hotel bihani.
Best location… best people… cozy room with all facilities, air con, mini refrigerator, tv, intercom, room service… amazing roof top garden. Overall super nice..
During the night in weekend can your sleeping be wakeful.. so just prepared for this..
Modern Boutique Hotel ideally located, within a short range of Thamel's streets. Impeccable sunlit and faultless spacious rooms. Gentle, hospitable and careful staff with their guests, adding a superb value and a great atmosphere to what is already a greater option by far regarding its competitors. Highly recommended.
Centrally located in Thamel. Everything you need is in the walking distance. The staff was very responsive and went a mile further to assist. Well lit room with plenty of natural light. Recommend to any solo, couple, or family travelers.
Great stay great staff excellent location and good breakfast that was included.
Everything and rooftop
Breakfast was not included in my booking, so ordered separately. It’s delicious breakfast… also value for money
…you‘re too old. It is noisy. Just know that you‘re really in Thamel Center. Usually it all stops, Live music, Karaoke, Clubbing, at 01:00. It can get 02:30h. I had it at 04:00 once. Indeed that‘s something the hotel is not to take responsible for. Sadly, it get‘s noisy at times in the hallway itself. The rooms are reasonably priced and fairly clean, though the bathroom had roaches twice and could use thorough cleaning. Now, if you have a bad back, be forwarned: the bedding is ridiculously soft! Avoid if you can‘t handle that. I got myself a hard mattress on my own money, because i stayed 10 days and the hotel couldn‘t provide. The staff is exceptional! And Biru & the boys can really become friends in a short notice.Awesome guys! All in all: i give not out lighthandedly negative reviews. In fact, i never have, because most of the time it is not fault of the accommodation rather than meeting personal favors and needs. So, when you are budget travelling, looking for a stay for maybe two to three days and don‘t mind supersquishy bedding: you‘re in for a treat (eat at the restaurant right at the hotel!!!). Otherwise, you want silence and just that undefined extra more, look somewhere else.
The staff, Biru‘s tea is the best in all of Thamel - simple as that, and the excellent Restaurant, which simply provided me throughout and almost exclusively.

It was excellent. It is my second time where I stayed. I prefer to everybody.
Every thing is ok. Hotel is clean, staffs are friendly and price is more affordable.
