Hotel Encounter Nepal & Spa

Great location, friendly staff, and super nice rooms.

The staff is amazing! They go out of their way to make you feel at home and are extremely helpful with anything you need. I can't compliment them enough. The restaurant has a great menu and great food and dining area. Great job Hotel Encounter!

The room was exactly as expected, but there are some stains on the walls and ceiling and some random stuff in the hallways. But, the beds are comfortable and the sheets are clean. Seating area near the tv and big window was nice. I felt at home.

Friendly and helpful staff, location, and quietness.

Clean rooms. And nice garden

It's in Kathmandu, a very crowd city. Compared to other hotels, it's a good place.

The staff were all very nice and the breakfast was very good.

The room was run down: the heater and the TV did not work, the bathroom had seen better days, the room safe hadn't worked in decades, not all the outlets worked, etc.

Friendly & supportive staff, the garden & the greeneries in front of the hotel were mind blowing. The breakfast was also super good.

If there was elevator it would be good.

The staff were so kind and welcoming offering help in any way they could. The location is perfect and walkable to many places. The room was perfect with everything you need, cozy beds, large bathroom, and more. Excellent value and highly recommended!

We loved the location, a little outside of Thamel so it was quiet but close to all of the good restaurants. Great showers and comfortable rooms. Super helpful staff!

It is located on the edge of Thamel, the main area of the city for bars/resturants, shops. Being on the edge instead of inside that area means there is more space. A garden, massive seating areas for food or whatever you'd like. And a lot more quiet, especially at night. Daytime can be a little noisy as it's next to a school. But I'll take the sound of kids playing over traffic any day. Staff is great. Good food. Wifi is good. Cut in and out a bit in my room. Fine for streaming movies. Maybe not good if you're a digital nomad, or perhaps just need a different room than I had.

The staff and ambience was great. Value for price.

Room facilities could add coffee / microwave. Breakfast has limited options.

The hotel is in a prime location. Not very far from souvenir shops and cafes of Thamel. The rooms are spacious and For the price we paid, it was a nice deal.

There was no elevator but I understand for a heritage building, it makes sense and we had support from hotel to carry our suitcases and bags -up and down. So no problems whatsoever.

The stay was amazing. The staff was super nice, always smiling and being super positive! They were so kind to print us our Indian's visa for free and gave us welcome drinks on arrivals. The room was big and with a super nice balcony overlooking Kathmandu, for a very cheap price! The shower was our favourite in our 3 months in Nepal!

The walls of the bedroom are a bit thin and sometimes it's a bit noisy.

Arriving at hotel encounter was such a pleasure, every single staff member greeted us with a smile and a hello which instantly made us feel welcome. Secondly at reception they upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge just because they had the availability which was a nice touch. The room was very spacious and clean and the shower was hot and powerful 24/7. Free water was provided in the room and breakfast was great especially the gentleman serving it, he very so polite.

Good location from the restaurants and shops in Thamel Amazing shower! Just what you need after trekking Helpful staff, guard helped us with our trekking bags up stairs after our trip, All of them spoke great English Very comfortable bed They upgraded us when we arrived to a deluxe room, The included breakfast was lovely

Nothing everything was great

All the staff are very friendly here. You are close to all the action, but far enough away for the whole place to feel really peaceful. The room is a good size and well maintained. Breakfast was very good.

Good location. Quiet room. Staff were friendly. Short walk to the bars and restaurants of Thamel. If you're not fussy and looking for a short stay, close to the nightlife then it's cheap and cheerful. Don't be expecting luxury for the few euros your paying. Fine breakfast also

Website mentions that there is a tour desk available in the hotel but when we asked 2 different staff members, they didn't seem to know about it so we had to book our plans elsewhere. There was an empty desk opposite reception.

Good quiet location just outside noisy Thamel. Amazing view of the city and the mountains from the balcony. Staff were really nice, especially very friendly guy from the restaurant and both men from security. In winter it's quite cold, so you need not just an AC, but also a heater - thankfully provided by the hotel

Central, lovely staff and beautiful views

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options to start the day right. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The location is very convenient not far from the main attractions, yet peaceful and quiet, making it perfect for relaxation. Highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting the area!

The room was good, not small like some. The shower had great hot water but does take a few minutes to warm up. The bed was okay but a little hard.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not good, the room streamed up and since it is cold inside everything was wet. The room wasn't very warm and the air unit didn't work very well. It was noisy most of the time, except at night, but dogs and pigeons wake you up constantly. Traffic outside was always load.
