Cons -
- Nothing other than it was very quiet - no one in bar or outside seating. Plenty at breakfast tho! End of season - half the town closed.
- The room was old and needs renovation.Far from the center.
- Quite old and a random guy came and knocked my door

Loved the art deco feel to the lobby and the generously sized bedrooms.
My parents room was cold and despite numerous requests to the manager for assistance, either in turning the system on or providing a mobile heater nothing was forthcoming. This is the first hotel that I have ever stayed in that did not provide tea and coffee making facilities either in the room or centrally. Again this was raised with the manager who commented that this was a 3 star hotel therefore I shouldn’t expect such things?????To the credit of other staff members, when I mentioned this I was provided with a kettle, cups and saucers.
The location was excellent. We wanted to travel the Coastal Tram which traverses the Belgian Coast, the longest tram route in Europe, we believe. We were not disappointed. The Avenue claims to be a "... a renovated original Art Deco hotel dating from 1932 " That's true, but it is a slightly fading asset as is the "family run" aspect in these straitened times. Staff are pleasant and welcoming, but struggling a little with an ageing building. The breakfast was excellent, but is hosted across the road in a partner hotel.
Parking, a couple of hundred yards away, was very expensive. Blankenberge, quite a busy resort among the many which line this sandy (but windy) coastline, with hundreds of thousands of thousands of apartments and hotel rooms competing for a very-short-season's business, is limited in the number of shops and restaurants which can survive. We were very lucky to find one or two of them!
Good location, not far from the beach, decent breakfast
Old and smelly place that seems to be stuck in the past
Was able to put bicycle in locked garage to keep it safe.Location a bit away from the main action on the beach promenade and hence fairly quiet.
Room a bit dated, courtyard view is an exaggeration, basically you look onto another wall.Breakfast buffet ran out of stuff very quickly and was not replenished. It looked as if they were stretched by the number of guests.Check out time 10am is too early.Very little noise insulation, you can hear other guests.
Delicious breakfast with many choices, friendly staff.
There is no possibility to invite a guest to a room.
Loved this hotel. Good breakfast, comfy bed, spacious room- had a balcony overlooking the street. Close to tram and train. Close to the beach and restaurants. Absolutely lovely staff! Took the train from there to Brugge for the day no problem. Definitely recommend.
The personnel is nice and the entrance hall looks nice.
There is no soundproofing in the rooms, we can hear everything from the corridors and the rooms next to and above us (including the sound of the floor cracking). The curtains let all the light in so it is impossible to have a dark room when the sun is up. The parking is not a real parking and is very expensive (30€/night), it is more a personal backyard and there is no space to safely park the car. It is also impossible to get out if the « parking » is full.
Comfortable stay and Claudia was very helpful.
The only issue I had was the noise from other rooms.A kettle in the room would be great.
Nice interior and nice breakfast.
There was no hot water in the shower. We noticed the owner but she ignored our complaint for 3 days in a row. We made the same complaint every morning but she did not give us a solution to us taking cold showers. She didn't offer a compensation after letting us stay in a room with no hot water for more than €100 euro per night. Hotel is also very noisy, you can hear people talking at night in the rooms next to your room.Would not recommend thia hotel, no value for your money.
My room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly. The location was great for visiting Bruges - just 10 minutes by train. It was lovely being somewhere slightly quieter and less touristy! Blankenberge beach was also nice for a wander.
Very friendly staffClose to everythingGreat breakfast menu
Location was great
Shower temperature wasn’t warm enough. When I asked about it the staff told me that the temperature was set to 42 Celsius. Since I usually don’t go in my vacations with a thermometer I felt it almost cold when the temperature outside was ~15 Celsius
The hotel is in a useful location, just a block behind the seafront and an easy walk from the train station. It's a traditional building with some character. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was good. There is a nice view over the rooftops from the small balcony.
Parking is charged at thirty euros per day. This was only visible on the booking page when clicking on a "more info" link, but other details about the parking (like the Tesla chargers) is listed clearly. This was not a pleasant surprise when checking in. The room felt a little cramped, with very little space around the bed, and the desk could barely fit a laptop.
The breakfast was very enjoyable. The staff very friendly and helpful.
The double bed I had for my self was very soft on the edge, almost a downhill slope towards the floor.
Great breakfast with nice variety of items. Free parking was available on the street after 19:00 till 09:00. Beach is 5 minutes of walk from the hotel. Receptionist was very helpful and polite. Its a classical themed hotel.
Private parking price is a bit high.
Great Time for me and my son at the Avenue Boutique hotel in Blankenberge. The hotel is nearby the shopping center and close to the beach. All the people working there are really kind and helpful. We enjoyed the room comforts. The breakfast served every morning was good for every taste and needing.I surely recommend this Hotel for your holiday in Blankenberge!!!
Location, great breakfast with many options.
Very direct communication with the staff. We were finishing our breakfest but we were informed that it’s check-out time (10.30 sharp) and we should leave now.
