Layout of the room was well planned. It had plenty of storage for clothing, great lighting and bathroom design. Also the breakfast buffet was exceptional ! The variety of food, breads, fruits & they have the BEST orange marmalade jam I have ever had!

Top Tips
- Reserve your hotel 4-8 weeks in advance for Bacolod's MassKara Festival in October. Midrange hotels can fill up at least 4 weeks early, and high-demand options like Seda Capitol Central and L’Fisher often require booking 6-8 weeks ahead. Early reservations help you avoid room rates increasing by 20-30% or having to stay farther from downtown.
- Transfers from Bacolod–Silay Airport (about 20 km north of the city center) to downtown usually take 20-30 minutes by car. Confirm a hotel shuttle or prearrange a metered taxi, as ride-hailing apps have limited service, especially at peak arrival times.
- Choose hotels along Lacson Street or near the Provincial Capitol, such as Seda Capitol Central or L’Fisher, for easy access to at least 15 restaurants, pharmacies, and the provincial hospital within a 5-15 minute walk or short tricycle ride.
- Check the final total rate on OTA or hotel quotes before booking, as Bacolod room rates are subject to 12% VAT and many hotels add a 10% service charge. Verifying these charges helps prevent surprises at checkout.
- Use only bottled water provided by the hotel for drinking, as tap water in Bacolod is generally not potable. Most properties provide 1-2 complimentary bottles per guest daily, but confirm the refill policy with the front desk if you need more.
- Major hotel chains accept credit cards, but cash is required for jeepney, tricycle rides, and local vendors. Use ATMs inside malls like SM City Bacolod and decline Dynamic Currency Conversion to avoid a 2-6% markup.
- If you need stable Wi-Fi, ask the hotel for a specific Mbps speed or a recent speed test before booking, as actual performance can differ from site listings. For remote work, consider a backup local SIM or portable hotspot for reliable access.
- During typhoon season (June-November), short power outages can occur. Confirm your hotel has generator backup for guest rooms and elevators, especially if continuous power is important for health or work needs.
- If you require an accessible room, request written confirmation of step-free access and roll-in shower features from chains like Seda or Days Hotel. Most smaller pension houses in Bacolod do not offer step-free routes.
- Use motorized tricycles for trips under 3 km (about 2 mi), and always agree on the fare or confirm meter use before boarding to avoid overcharging. For longer distances or airport transfers, use a registered taxi arranged through your accommodation.
