Ibis Mackay

Yes it was dirty , mouldy and quite disgusting

Staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean. Buffet breakfast was exceptional.

Location, value for business, meals were good.

For a quick stopover and with no transport, the IBIS had everything we needed. Very comfortable bed, clean and with a nice view. Our meal was delicious.

The room was tight and our meal expensive for what it was, but I guess your paying for convenience.

Bed making - worst I have ever encountered. How hard is it to spread sheets flat? Plus $4 for gravy? Thats a bit rich!

Loved how close it was to the airport. Sound proof rooms were amazing. Staff were super helpful

Had to change rooms as there were issues with power and aircon in our room however this change was done right away with no issues.

Food aside, the room was clean and mostly comfortable. I did have to swap the pillow because it was lumpy but overall I slept fine and you couldn't hear any of the planes outside. The onsite carpark was a great help as well. If I stayed with Ibis in Mackay again, I just would not order room-service.

I usually love staying with Ibis, and I've stayed with them in various hotels across Australia. However, this time I can't recommend them purely based on an incident with the room service. I had ordered a margherita pizza, the simplest pizza - this was my first time getting room service but after driving a seven hour day I wanted to eat in the silence of my room. However, when the pizza arrived it was bone cold. Since I had paid extra for the "service", I took it back downstairs and asked if they could either heat it up or make another. Not believing me, several of the staff touched the pizza to confirm it was in fact cold. They laughed, apologised, and said they'd take care of it. After having so many fingers on it, I assumed I'd get a fresh pizza. Instead I was sent the same pizza with the basil removed and it was still lukewarm after being microwaved. I wish I'd just waited downstairs and taken it up myself the first time since I didn't feel like eating it after seeing at least three separate staff poke the food... Waste of $30.

It was a great location. Very pleasant staff. Great restaurant for dinner.

Very noisy airconditioner that I had to turn off overnight as it was too loud. The TV remote would not work properly.

Excellent location for catching flights from Mackay. Accommodation was clean & comfortable.

Decent bathroom for an Ibis

Bed was pretty soft. Breakfast buffet was pretty lacking for the price, especially for my partner who is dairy, gluten and nut free. No hash browns, no baked beans. Pineapple was woeful. Fried & poached eggs looked grossssssss. Chef made me fresh scrambled eggs, they were awesome. Apart from that, pretty underwhelming.

There was a flat sheet on the mattress instead of a fitted sheet so the flat sheet kept moving while we slept.

Late check in was smooth
