Intercontinental Doha - The City By IHG

I booked a classic room to celebrate my birthday for some me time and the nice lady upgraded my room to the junior suite. It was such a nice gesture to make my day feel extra special. The hotel looks luxurious, visually appealing, clean and staff are all nice. The room they gave me was very spacious, clean, bed comfortable and loved the big bathroom with bathtub. The hotel had a lot of restaurants to choose from. We chose the Asian Restaurant and the serving was a lot for an affordable price. There was also a gym and pool. Pool is smaller compared to some hotels but not an issue for me, still enjoyed it.

The staff are friendly and helpful, view from the room is very nice, the parking on the premises is easy to access. Lobby is very nice.

Rooms are outdated, furniture are highly used, no GRMS in the room, breakfast was poor.

They gave me 2 king room while i booked 1 king and 1 twin, curtain and shower head was damaged

We have 5 bookings for 9 nights , 1 three bedroom apartment and 4 king rooms , There was a delay at check-in, and the apartment was very poorly cleaned. The rooms and floors were full of hair, the bathrooms were below minimum hygiene standards, and even the cups had visible coffee stains.Bathroom had “pee”.Despite fully prepaying, we were wrongly charged extra at check-in and again for two additional nights during our stay, which was frustrating and unacceptable.The apartment lacked basic amenities: limited electrical outlets, only 2 telephones in a three-bedroom apartment, no bidet spray in the main bathroom, and just one hair dryer and iron. The furniture was in disastrous condition, far below Qatar standards and not reflective of a 5-star property. Breakfast had an unpleasant smell, the TV was outdated, and the rooms were very dark.Although we requested a 3:00 PM late checkout, the keys were locked at 12:00 PM without notice. We also spent 1.5 hours with the manager, Mr. Ali, discussing billing errors and complaints. The only compensation offered was USD 300 in laundry, which was completely inadequate given the experience.This stay was stressful and far below expectations. I would not recommend Intercontinental chain to anyone.

Friendly staff, so clean and nice location Strongly recommend

1- location is perfect 2- spacious clean rooms

1- not totally hotel fault but we reached only an hour or so before check-in and the room wasn't ready after a very long drive usually hotels will consider this and provide the room or a different room and not wait exactly till check-in time

The location is good as its 5 mnts walk to City Center Mall , 5 minutes to the Metro station and 15 minutes walk to beach. The staff were great and breakfast was good

I stayed at a 3 bedroom appartment. Its has a good space however very much outdated. Tiles are very old as well as carpets and furniture

The duty manager when we arrived, he did an excellent service but the reception staff was bad in welcoming us

Location

I booked a regular hotel room, but upon arrival, the reception informed me that they had “upgraded” me to a four-bedroom apartment. It was only a one-night stay, so I didn’t argue, but the apartment was far below expectations ,not clean, poorly maintained, and with an unpleasant smell.Instead of feeling upgraded, I felt uncomfortable throughout the stay. InterContinental used to be one of my trusted choices when traveling, but after this experience, it’s no longer an option for me.

Food wasn't good, no welcome drinks or grand gestures for a 5star hotel. The pool side was completely unattended - specially female changing area - it's a great facility but nobody was there to provide towels or guide around the facilities.

Breakfast was okay. I enjoyed the fact that there was a loyt to take from when it came to options. But increase the time from 9:00 to 9:30 am in future

The gym and the swimming pool is small.The pillows is too thin.

Staff'service was exceptional. Hotel facilities are outstanding.

Shower tile floor in our club level floor room was extremely slippery and dangerous. We had to be extremely careful not to fall.
