Parador de Manzanares

Mediocre place to stay for one night while travelling through Spain, pricey!

We asked for a coffee in the morning. The staff seemed annoyed by our request, but said ok, we could by one in the restaurant. Then, when we asked the restaurant, they also said ok. After waiting for over ten minutes for somebody to actually attempt to give us a coffee, we decided it was not going to happen and we left.

The building and the surrounding structures are historic and beautiful. The hotel has a fascinating characteristic and old world charm and is very well maintained as are the rooms and bathrooms which are clean and well kept. The restaurant has great food and the staff are pleasant and provide good service.

Good location, ideal stopover.

Restaurant and cafe both closed between 4pm and 8pm. We had been travelling and expected the restaurant to be closed until 8pm but not the cafe.

Very comfortable family atmosphere. Staff exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Large standard rooms. Relaxed and family friendly. Excellent value for money.

The staff are very friendly and that matters most to me. I want to feel that its a bit like coming home. It was.

I prefer to eat in the cafe rather than the restaurant which is a liitle 'cold' for my liking. Maybe a little more food choice would have been great.

The whole experience, friendly warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Nice clean comfortable bedroom. The breakfast was top class and even a small selection cooked to order from the kitchen. Definitely would stay again.

Friendly staff, lots of parking, comfortable rooms with very large beds. Nice shower. The pool was closed (winter) but looked very nice. Easy to find. The location is great as a stopping point if you're on route somewhere (as was our case), but note it is very close to the motorway! (although in our room at least you could not hear the road)

Didn't try the breakfast but had a coffee - would have hoped for an expresso/latte but instead got an amerciano which could have been better.

Excellent dinner and breakfast. The helpful and friendly service from the young man on duty in the bar area on the 25th January. (sorry I did not obtain his name) but well done .

Non availability of food having arrived at 4.15pm and having to wait for dinner at 8.30pm. Having travelled for 2 days this was not good. Not restricted to this hotel but Paradores need to think about their northern European customers who sometimes travel ,as we did, long distances.

Staff attentive, food quality good

Staff did not understand when we asked if the restaurant was open and subsequently we ate a bar snack in the cafeteria.Breakfast in the dining room has a restricted menu, spoons not on table, no milk, salt or pepper

Whole experience top notch, beautiful surroundings, large well appointed room, other facilities to match. Staff well turned out, friendly, knowledgeable, highly professional. Outstanding value for money.

Absolutely nothing.

This is a first-class hotel and very good value for money - much cheaper than most Paradores. The food is really good: you can tell this because it's used by a lot of locals. Breakfast was excellent - good buffet with hot food cooked to order. We have stayed here a couple of time before as it is literally less than 2 minutes from the motorway with easy free parking which makes it a great stop when we travel to or from the Santander ferry.

I like the old world charm. The staff were very friendly and I felt at home and for me that's important. I prefer the cafe to the dining room and that is mostly because the dining room feels a little souless.

The worst thing that I can say is that the parking spaces are a little cramped and of course that is pretty trivial.

Convenient, easy to find, comfortable hotel, room and bed.

The restaurant opened at 20.30, common in Spain, but staff not ready for customers, poor dining experience.

Location and excellent fo my wife’Disability. Superb lift . excellent Bathroom, Good Air conditioning. Lovely Helpful Staff and Waitresses. Lovely food choices.

Fkood pprtions were too big for my wife and I to manage. Breakfast Excellent.

No other restaurants in close proximity

Everything was more than we expected, spotlessly clean everywhere. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.We couldn’t have asked for more.

There was nothing to dislike in our opinion
