Cons -
- I can't think of one complaint, it was great!
- The rooms are not very modern and feel more like an American motel than a 4 star hotel.
- The visitors center was unable to accept credit cards day of our visit. At 50 JOD per person, its a bit challenging for come up with 350 JOD in cash. ATMs have limit of 250 JOD.

The location.
Not as well-maintained as I could have hoped for.
Perfect location , the staff was so welcoming and gracious, the rooms were great and the food was delicious!
The location and staff are what make this place amazing. We’ve been here before so we were happy to return. The room’s (3) were very modern and comfortable. With a beautiful view. Would definitely come back.
Location is perfect. Immediate adjacent to the entrance to Petra. After a long long walk, this becomes very important. Staffs at restaurants are friendly. Amer would also give flower to females. I went with my boyfriend so he kindly left the flower on the chair next to my boyfriend. I didn’t see it until my boyfriend told me so.
The room, the spa, the restaurants, the staff, everything
Very enjoyable stay here for 3 nights. The room was clean and in great condition, the staff was helpful, polite and very attentive and the location cannot be beat. Both breakfast at the hotel and dinner at the cave bar were delicious.
Nothing, everything was beyond expectation.
Fantastic hospitality, a warm welcome, and very professional friendly staff. The view from our room was amazing. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Excellent location at the gates of Petra couldn't get a better location to enter Petra it was perfect at the end of long days walking. The food was also great, and we enjoyed the cave bar before dinner. If visiting Petra would definitely recommend staying here.
Nothing ?
The location is excellent, right at the entrance to Petra, making early starts and returns after a long day of walking very convenient. The hotel entrance has a distinctive historic feel that reflects the character of the location. The staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was well organized with a good selection and a pleasant dining atmosphere. The hotel is also close to nearby restaurants and shops, which adds to the overall convenience of the stay.
As of January 2026: This is not Crowne Plaza Hotel as listed on Booking.com, but Petra Guest House, which claims an affiliation with IHG. At check-in, we were told our booking was considered a children’s booking and would not accommodate our full party or breakfast, despite entering correct ages and booking sufficient rooms. An upgrade was suggested for an additional fee. The rooms felt dated and did not meet 4–5 star standards. Overpriced for the room finish, but facilities were reasonable.
Hotel: fantastic location just outside the visitor centre and the entrance to the site. The breakfast is super, starts very early and has a great variety of food to choose from. Otherwise it has no spa or gym or any other facilities. Room: our room was excellent, large and comfortable. It was also very quiet. The bed was large and the mattress was firm. The pillows were comfortable too.
You are literal steps away from the entrance to Petra, the closest of any hotel. The rooms are nice, the staff are polite, friendly and helpful, and the coolest bar in town is located here: the cave bar. Couldn’t have imagined staying anywhere else during my vacation to Petra.
Super friendly and accommodating staff. Always willing to help with any request. Very attentive. Room was nice and spacious. Quiet and great. Amazing location as well.
The location is absolutely wonderful, two steps away from Petra. After walking for many hours in Petra, the best thing is not having to think about how to get to the hotel. Parking was free and that is a wonderful perk. The view from the restaurant was amazing. They also gave us a complementary bowl of fresh fruit. Hanadi, the lady from the reception was extremely helpful and kind.
Our stay at Petra Guesthouse was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and we even received a free upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The location is unbeatable as it is right next to Petra making it super easy to explore. Highly recommended!
Staying at Petra Guest House Hotel was an absolute highlight of our trip. I had the pleasure of staying in one of their Mountain Chalets, and it was nothing short of magical. Cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by breathtaking views! The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the entrance to the Siq. This made it easy to beat the crowds and take in Petra’s beauty at my own pace. It truly felt like living in the heart of history. What made the experience even more special was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Everyone I met was kind, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. A heartfelt thank you to Ahmad, who went above and beyond to help me plan my itinerary. His insights and recommendations made all the difference and allowed me to experience Petra in a truly meaningful way.If you’re visiting Petra, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s more than just a place to stay. It’s part of the adventure.
The accessibility, amazing rooms, great breakfast, brilliant staff. Thank you Khaled, Odai, Ahmed and the rest of the crew!
NA
The hotel is located right at the entrance of Petra archaeological site so it is very easy to wake up early to get into the park and also rest right-away when you are done for the day. The entire hotel and room were very clean. I especially like the Cave Bar and its staff. The bed was comfortable and clean. Same with the bathroom within-unit. They were very personable and friendly. The bar staff made the stay memorable.
The breakfast coffee can be better. Not sure what instant coffee they are using but it was not very good.
Location was good and it was very comfortable. The cave bar was great and the breakfast was good.
It was a bit pricey for a hotel without a pool. Security checkpoint was over the top and unnecessary.
