Beautiful views, very courteous staff, great food and pleasant ambience. Friendly resident dogs were also a big plus!

We had booked a Standard room by paying ~6k INR but were in for a shock when we saw the room in reality. Yes, we had seen the pictures of the room on Booking.com prior to booking but there was a significant difference between the pictures and what we actually got. The Standard room was dirty (for lack of a better word) overall with dirt marks on the ceiling, walls and the floor. There was clear dampness on the ceilings which resulted in a weird smell in the room. The floor was covered with a brown laminate which looked like it had not been cleaned in years. We obviously did not have the heart to check the bathroom. It was such a dimly lit room that even with all the lights on (during peak day time), it was dark with almost no ventilation at all. The little corridor outside the room was also equally bad with little cleanliness and upkeep. Upon complaining about the room and highlighting the fact that we were certainly expecting better (and we were not expecting the moon and the stars) for the price paid, we were told by the booking desk that the room details were clearly mentioned on the Booking.com page ! We spoke to the on-ground facility manager (Mr. Vipul) who heard us out and highlighted that booking was handled centrally by a seperate team (Ms.Priyanka) and there was not much he could help with from a booking point of view. He offered to upgrade us to a Swiss tent for an additional charge of 3500, which to me (after having looked at the tent) did not seem reasonable on top of what I had already paid (eventual price would have been 9.5k for which I would have got much better room elsewhere). Ultimately, Mr. Vipul spoke to the owner and he managed to upgrade us for free to the tent. The overall summary is that we had a good stay in the tent with decent bed, AC, hot water and a sit-out area. However, I would like to raise a red flag (deep red !) here to someone booking the Standard room which clearly is not livable & worth the money being charged.

The location is really beautiful and well maintained.

The website had photos of the tent room but not of the deluxe room which was the only room available at that point. It wasnt up to the mark and had we seen photos of it, we would not have booked the room and moved to another hotel or waited for the tent room to be available.

The location of the property is just perfect. They have signboards at the first view of Lansdown and even right before the entry to the property.

It is a property located much before Lansdowne.it appears to be a good camping site but not for a family holiday.

The amenities are just ok. rooms are comfortable but need improvement Very poor connectivity. must things don't operate.

One of the amazing stay in Lansdowne with beautiful view and spacious rooms. We rally enjoyed our stay. The service is very good. Food is amazing.

I am impressed with friendly support I got from staff as well as owner. They made my stay very comfortable subject to some challenges mentioned elsewhere. Location was good. Good place to relax.

Room and its location. There was a smell coming into the room from outside. Could be a room with board Urinal. WiFi was not that great.

Very neat and well-maintained rooms and bathrooms. Food was wonderful. Staff are exceptionally polite and helpful.

The property can be a little more childproof. Grills on balconies and terraces and staircases are wide and easy to fall through for toddlers. Parents need to be alert. But this is a concern that only applies to families with toddlers.

Bathrooms were very very small . Needs to think and work on this. One can hardly stand and bath.

Stay at Samskara was everything as expected and hoped for. Focus on cleanliness, good food and warm service. Hotel Manager Amit and our room service manager Himanshu were great and always greeted with a smile. We almost ate all meals over 3 days at the hotel as outside the options weren't that good and fortunately while menu is limited, they were always prepared fresh and on order. Our 5 yr old daughter generally very picky about her food also enjoyed the meals.They prepared bonfire over 2 nights with light music which added to the experience. They even have a small library and games available on request for good family time.Overall excellent stay with good memories. Thanks to Samskara And Samsara.

Bar was closed, but claims to have oldest bar in the city. They are awaiting renewal of licence

Quiet location

- Missing menu items (lots of them - tandoor is not even operational and they ran out of some ingredients by Day 3)- Hygiene (lots of dust in the corners and uncleaned floor and carpets (had the ask them to vacuum)- Policies not stated clearly (we had to pay Rs 200/ night extra for the driver to use the washroom)- Tiny washroom for a family suite

Ambience and staff. However, some people in the tent next were causing disturbances. Loud talk, loud music, and trying to get into a conversation in Bengali ( in a bad accent) which caused me tremendous irritation.
