Pros +
- Room great but expected a better Lake view. Breakfast was really good. Staff in reception were very helpful.
- The breakfast was reasonable. I realise that we are now out of season so the selection was ok, just a little bit disappointing.
- It is an astonishing complex in an Arabic style. It has all the amenities that you would expect including a spa, a gym, massage, an outdoor pool. An a la carte restaurant, a buffet restaurant, an outdoor pool bar. An indoor spa pool and an outdoor extensive pool with enough chairs and parasols. You have over a wood passage direct access to a wide sandy beach. Everything is well taken care of and very clean. The staff is very friendly in general and they are helpful. On Friday night and Saturday night we had an outdoor entertainment session (80's night & Flamenco). The maitre d'hotel in Massa Fina the first night, was an excellent host.
Cons -
- Everything was of the highest quality except the toilet paper!!
- When we arrived on the Sunday, the bar by the pool was open. It was lovely to sit and relax with a beer. However, for the rest of our stay the bar remained closed, although the pool was open. Also, and while I appreciate we were in Spain, the hotel didn't offer any afternoon or early evening snacks. So you couldn't get a drink by the pool or any light refreshments, which for a 4 star hotel is disappointing
- For whatever reason and even though at the time of our arrival there were not too many check-in's happening, we had to wait for our check-in to be taken care of because 3 reception employees were busy with one of their Portuguese colleague's from another Vila Galé Hotel that was doing his check-in with his partner. He was explained all the possible features of the hotel to an extensive detail. We had to wait. When another receptionist finally appeared at the desk then we could finally check-in. Everything was going well until I showed my UK Overseas Passport and my Gibraltar ID card. From that moment in time for whatever reason the receptionist changed attitude. We were not even explained what amenities the Hotel would have, the short answer was: go on our webpage and inform yourself. From that moment in time we avoided dealing with that person. Sorry to see such an unprofessional behaviour. Another thing that we experienced was on Saturday night in the a la carte restaurant "Massa Fina": even though the restaurant was not completely full, but quite busy, the main waiter taking our order struggled to stay focused and we had to repeat the order at least 3 times in Spanish until he got it right. And there were people waiting more than 30 minutes to pass their orders, whilst he was just walking around in the restaurant completely lost. People had to explicitly call him to pass an order, otherwise he would not go to a table to ask if something was missing or if anything else was required. A couple of people were vocal and next day went to the buffet restaurant rather then the a la carte one. I can imagine that if this does not change when the hotel will be fully booked during the summer, it is going to be a massive issue not having a competent maitre d'hotel at the a la carte restaurant. They had beside him another 2 waiters.

Staff went out of their way to compensate for deficiencies.
Not the standard you expect from Vila Galé. Unprepared, understaffed, poor buffet, room not prepared as requested, 1h to check-in + another to eat, which, when you have 3 children younger than 6 is a complete nightmare.
room & pool
No beach bars nearby for lunch
Relaxing and safe place to stay with my family. Lovely breakfast and dinner.
We had a very pleasant stay. The room was wonderful and the beds (even daughters extra bed) were very comfortable. We loved the pools and the daughter was always entertained with all the activities. The buffet restaurant was good and plentiful. The Staff was 5 Star all the way, can’t say enough good things about them. We loved the short distance to the beach and the surrounding area was great for walks and very safe and calm.
We are experienced in the all inclusive type holiday, therefore we noticed that there is room for improvement in this area. Although the buffet restaurant was good, the in between hours were seriously lacking in options. It left us feeling like there was no difference in opting to pay for all inclusive instead of full board. In other all inclusive resorts the snack hours offered many more choices, freshly cooked food etc. I would say this is the only negative during our stay- we felt we had to load up during the buffet hour so that we wouldn’t be hungry during snack time. For all inclusive holidays we really want to feel like we can eat well at any hour. The other negative would be the price for parking in the hotel, it was absurd really. We opted to park in the street and saved a bundle.
Hotel is very nice, personnel is friendly and pool and beach are perfect. Food was just OK (not bad not good) and if we stayed longer it would probably start repeating itself.
Beds were terrible, very hard, old and uncomfortable. There was the smell of sewage from the toilet. We must pay sunbed and umbrella on the beach despite the fact that we were all inclusive guest.
Passable
too noisy, way too many activities in the pool; music extremely loud
Loved the hotel structure, the bedrooms, and all the facilities and the All Inclusive.Excellent Pool with warm water. The staff very nice.
Just that the wifi signal was not very strong in tbe pool areas...just bar and reception. (Rooms all good)
The bar was excellent, very close to the beach,
THe whole BUilding is outdated; we found lots of ants in our room.
The restaurant serves excellent food, the pool is suitable for all ages and the hotel is spacious.
Personally there were too many babies and small children, for me; specially noisy in the restaurant, which was surprising for a superior 4 star hotel, at this time of year.
A very comfortable stay in this large hotel. Excellent situation made for a very enjoyable visit.
For computer users, WiFi is very good, only problem - I had to move a very heavy desk to access a socket for my computer which was located behind the desk, otherwise I would have had to have an extension cable draped across the room. This needs to be recified urgently.
spacious , good gym , brilliant breakfast , stylish , close to the beach ,
bed a little hard, expensive to eat in eve if not all inclusive ie you have to buy a ticket at 50euros , we only wanted a snack late at night so went to a tapas 20 minute walk and had a small meal at 12 euros each , queues at reception annoying ,
the place has everything you need. Rooms are confortable just the air conditioning is not good, so if you want to have a nap on the middle of the day that would be the worst place to be. Apart from that this place is wonderful, with everything you need to make the best of your stay. the pool are very nice, plenty of sun beds (mid October), you can get towels and a beach umbrella at the front desk (they will ask for a cash deposit). The beach is one of the best I have been, warm water, shallow (perfect for kids), soft sand and private. Near the hotel there are a few restaurant (expensive if you get the catch of the day but worth it). There is also free parking in front of the hotel but hard to find a spot even over low season. Breakfast was good with many options to pick from. they also have a bag room and an area where to get change if you want to spend more time at the beach or facilities on the day you are checking out.
Air conditioning is very bad though I heard it was because some government rules.
The pool is amazing and the access to the beach is really easy. The rooms are comfortable and quite big. The bathroom was spacious and clean as well.
The pool bar is open only between 13.30 and 15.30 for non-all-inclusive guests. This is a bit frustrating since there are not many open amenities around. The most frustrating bit however was that between our room and the neighboring room there was a door and we could hear everything. Luckily our neighbours and their baby were quiet.
great facilities, variety of food, very pleasant staff
small uncomfortable bath
What a great staff!! From reception, to restaurant, the nice lady from laundry (next the swimming pool), housekeepers, the bartenders and the Animation crew. Thank you ALL for receiving my family so well and made the time with you so good.
Its hard to appoint something not soo good, but I would mentioned the orange Juice.?
Locationspotless clean
Room Quite Basic in design, very white and clinical.no drinking water in room, as hotel plastic free. They supply a carafe, but leaving you room at 3am in the morning and walking to the communal water filter is not really what you would expect.
The kindness of all its staff: front desk, buffet, bar, pool , etc. Clean and confortable, although the rooms were very old fashioned. The public beach is great with very few people and clean, white sand.
Pool area too small for the amount of guests. Very crowded. Old fashioned and poorly equipped rooms. Almost no infrastructure at the beach, which is at 200-300meters away, so no services provided by the hotel.
