Hotel Monte Brasil

Very nice and practical place to explore Angra, with great views from the rooftop lounge across town and the bay. There's room for improvement with the breakfast but then, there's cute little cafés nearby.

We had to make a last minute reservation in the Azores because our flight to the US was diverted. The staff did a wonderful job accomodating us at short notice. The location was perfect, the price was great. Definitely would recommend.

The hotel does not have much in the way of amenties, but was very quiet, comfortable, secure, and welcoming.

Perfect location on Rua Se a short walk to the main square, the sea, restaurants and the bus station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an elevator which is extremely helpful for us. Breakfast was included. TV had several English-language stations.

Breakfast variety could be improved. Same breakfast every day.

The room was clean. I liked it was on the last floor otherwise the street noise would be a problem. It was close to all around.

The room was hot and the air conditioner didn't work properly. Breakfast was so-so.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. Conveniently located in the downtown but a little bit away from the noisiest parts, it's the perfect hideout for exploring the capital. Also, we rented a car, so having a big, free parking walking distance from the hotel was an incredible plus. Breakfast is basic but fresh and delicious! Beds are super comfortable.

Breakfast was basic but it was good to be offered fresh fruits (bananas, pears etc.). The room was comfortable, especially the bed and the shower was powerful and hot. The location is central and convenient. We booked at the last minute due to our flight off the island being cancelled and were happy with the facilities and service.

The room was fine and clean, and the location was excellent, making it easy to explore the area. The breakfast was quite moderate.

If you tend to avoid 2-star hotels, Monte Brasil is a pleasant surprise: perfectly located, with modern and well-equipped rooms in a very enjoyable hotel building. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet has all the basics you need in the morning and is continuously replenished.

Location and room

The bathroom was not well cleaned, we found some hair in the bathroom. I told them but the day after nothing changed - this disappointed me a little bit

Good location very close to the centre of Angra. Restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. On street parking right outside (meter parking being 08.00- 18.00) Great bakery right next door and a good restaurant across the street on the square where we were able to get a meal after arriving late (10pm) due to rescheduled flights. Fairly quiet rooms, some traffic noise but nothing too bad. Good aircon, though a little complicated. Good shower. Free WiFi. Small fridge in room.

Small rooms- barely enough space to walk between large suitcase and end of bed. Mattress protectors on mattress which were noisy, like someone rustling a plastic bag whenever you moved in bed. Small bathroom. Some dust on floors when we arrived and hair in shower. Very little hanging space.

The location was good. No bad smells, clean hotel. Good value for money.

The bed was a little uncomfortable. Maybe get better quality mattresses. Breakfast was sad. The two ladies working need extra help when it's busy. No coffee cups. Cutlery. Plates. The food is not replenished.

Location is great. The staff is very kind, helpful, and attentive.

Breakfast is basic. Only one person is taking care of clearing the tables, refilling the trays, preparing the food, and washing the dishes.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. My first nights were with a tour and the last night on my own and they made it possible for me to keep my original room instead of switching. The location was perfect to explore the city. The rooms were clean.

The breakfast could have had some more options.

The shower would fill up with water quickly, the curtain in the bathroom in the window was really dirty and the breakfast had few healthy options

The staff are professional and very welcoming, the location is geographically convenient to many restaurants, parking, a store and the water.

The rooms could use an upgrade with visible mildew, the location lends itself to being very loud throughout the evening and the breakfast wasn't the quality of similar establishments in the area for the pricing/location.

The staff were lovely! They helped us get cabs, find the best pastries, and they explained the local culture to us. We also liked our room. The breakfast was lovely too.

The beds could have been slightly more comfortable. A topper would fix them.
