Angra Marina Hotel

Rooms was filled with dust on most surfaces. Services are far below 5 start level, there was even no pool towels available when I asked for it. Besides the location there is very little satisfaction with this hotel if any.

Was in a good location

Property purposely misleads potential customers with their star rating and descriptions. This place is falling apart and marked as a 5-star hotel. We have nothing but problems from bugs in the room to mold in the bathroom. Front desk staff was very rude and refused to accommodate or make things right or cancel our future dates.

I booked an upgraded room. When I got there it was being renovated so they gave us the Presidential Suite. It was huge. The whirlpool tub was by a window overlooking the fort. Stunning!!

We had a rental car and the underground parking was horrible.

It was a great pleasure staying at the Angra Marina Hotel. I came to work in my room, and the rooms are tranquil, so perfect for work, Also, on most days an excellent internet connection.

The hotel has nice-looking conference facilities on the top floor with a fantastic view of the harbor, the ocean, and Monte Brasil, but it is impossible to receive information on prices and availability. The reservations department does not reply to six emails in a row, the front desk can't answer my questions, and the manager does not contact me. Apparently, the reservations department is situated on another island and gives no priority whatsoever to responding to requests.

Excellent sea view to the marina. Very beautiful. The breakfast should be better for a 5 star hotel.

A 5 star hotel should have a working SPA, gym and this kind of features available.The pool needs some updates.Breakfast is just basic for a 5 star hotelRoom is remote control operated, its not practical.The building needs some fixes.

Great location, with perfect sea and marine view, a spacious room with balcony, pretty clean, you can find a bar and a small swimming pool in the hotel, spa needs to be reserved in advance but don’t really think that it’s worth it. The breakfast is pretty good, no much variety.

Old and tired hotel, no shampoo/conditioner in the bottles, we got a key from the room that wasn’t even cleaned up firstly, but it was fixed fast, the table on the balcony was without glass, but it didn’t spoil our time there.

Location and facilities are great, room is spacious and clean.

No elevator from the marina, one has to walk up quite a bit. Front desk personnel were not very friendly.

The jets were not working in the tub… The hotel is up on top of the hill, so it’s difficult to to climb the hill by foot. It would be nice if they had an elevator on the bottom floor from the avenida, that way you wouldn’t have to climb the hill.

Breakfast was decent.

The facilities are quite dated and not well maintained. If your room is on the 7th floor you'll be woken up at 7:30am by the dragging of the chairs from the dining area on the floor above. The room's lighting is ridiculous as it requires the use of a remote; ours had drained batteries and after changing them it still didn't work. The shower didn't drain properly and left the bathroom floor all wet. On arrival the receptionist wasn't welcoming. The parking garage is unusable.

The location and views were great. Breakfast was ok and had several choices.

Our room had a terrible musty smell which was covered up by the smell of cleaners for the first 15minutes then it n vet the went away so it just made the whole room feel unclean though it did look clean. It just badly needs updating and the furniture was not a complete sofa just two pieces that at least could have been hooked together. We stayed there for the free parking but at check in were told I wouldn’t park there if I were you, very tight and impossible to maneuver. Not to mention the disinterested staff that should b told to smile. We left after the first night forfeiting a paid night, I could have asked for a fresh room but what was the point? We weren’t even asked how our stay was when we checked out, I think they knew.

Old hotel without maintenance. The room had a musty smell, the bed was super uncomfortable, the fridge didn’t work, the safety lock didn’t work, the parking is not accessible.

We stayed in a spacious and spotless room with a comfortable bed and great amenities. The highlight was the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, absolutely stunning. Breakfast was perfect, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The reception staff were efficient, helpful, and genuinely kind. This could have easily been a 10/10 stay with a few simple fixes.

Wifi is very poor (surprising for 2025) & our key card didn’t work for three days, requiring staff to unlock the door each time.

parking lot is very difficult to get in and out of. We just found parking on the street. Breakfast was decent, good selection of food but coffee was terrible! Coffee machine quality Room (we had a junior suite) very spacious and clean but light switch remote control was finicky and not always easy to use.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right at the harbor, and a short walk from the downtown area. The hotel has great facilities: a swimming pool, a sauna, a steamroom -- and the last two are only 15 euros a person, a great deal. The breakfast is magnificent: half a dozen raw vegetables so you can make your own salad, half a dozen grilled or stewed vegetables, such as zuchini and mushrooms and tomatoes, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, smoked salmon, 10 different kinds of breads, excellent local cheeses, a slice of quiche, a muesli corner, half a dozen pieces of fresh fruits, et cetera et cetera. Helpful staff.A 10-minute walk takes you to the Monte Brasil nature reserve, which is great for long walks with a 200-meter climb if you want to. Spectacular views from the top of the city and the ocean. I even saw a family of wild deer. The downtown area is UNESCO World Heritage and rightly so. Quite a few facilities for such a small town.

The breakfast coffee from the machine is absolutely terrible, but there is a pasteleria around the corner for real coffee. The entrance is at the 8th floor, so there is generally a bit of a climb if you return to the hotel. But, well, this is a volcanic island.

The location was perfect. Walkable to everything we wanted to see.

The lights for the room were controlled by a remote. If you went to the bathroom and forgot to take the remote, you couldn't turn the lights on. The shower wasn't great. The shower curtain didn't really contain the water, so the floor was always wet and unsafe.

The yung lady at the front desk at 2:55 pm gave us a hard time to check in saying the room was not clean ,than checke and said ( it just got ready) gave us the room card no explanation about the facilities or the breakfast times or room it was the guy that came in on duty after her that was kind enough to tell us about everything.
