Location is excellent but expect noise due to its central spot

We requested a crib for our infant, and it had a cigarette smell that forced us to co-sleep in the big bed . To be fair we didn't request another crib as we were tired but a crib smelling like cigarettes is the last thing in the room that should be exposed to cigarette smoke.

Maria Palace is one of our favorite hotels, going there for years.

Reception desk had adsolutely 0 customer orientation, seemed uninterested, unexperienced, and very sloppy. Many consultations between reception and manager for usual check-in and invoicing operations, still returning blurry answers to customers.We booked 2 apartments for our family, we requested in advance to be close to each other. We got 2 apartments in different wings of the hotel.Cleaning in the room used to be better. Ways to dry your beach clothing not available.Breakfast used to be better and more varied.Parking was unavailable in hotel parking Although we parked in the hotel parking, we were requested to move the car, and no alternative provided. So, we had to carry all luggage from public parking.Previous experiences were way better and expectations were not met this time. Really hope to return to the great experience customers used to have in Maria Palace.

Parking was advertised as free, but in reality the accessible parking space is paid.Loud music every night until midnight.No laundry service.

Position, nice view, very big rooms. Close to the beach and to the castle. Very good restaurant with sea view.

The elevator. Was very small and old. We got stuck at 11 pm and it took a while to take us out. We were lucky that somebody from the floor heared us and informed the reception because the alarm from the inside of the elevator didn't worked properly. It was scary, we were 4 adults and one small kid in less that 1 srq m. Also the food from the breakfast could have been better, coffee was bad, juices very bad.

The hotel is at the best possible location.It is really really beautiful outside and inside.Cleaning staff does fantastical job, towels are changed every day and sheets once every 3 days.Access to hotel is possible both from front and back sides.Bed mattress is good quality!Great view!

There is noisy restaurant 50 meters away which continues far through the night. In general this is not the quiet and calm family resort being advertised as.

I didn't like the smell in the room (4th floor) because of the smell of food coming from the terraces.

Excellent location. Good breakfast. Rooms overlook a row of restaurants along the beach. Soundproof. Beach access next to property. Room was large. Tea kettle but no cups or tea/coffee. Beds very comfortable.

The parking was not free. An extra pillow would be welcome.

The hotel is not having the parking place for cars, only 7 - 8 parking place for at least 50 or 60 rooms, in back of the building. They told us to park the car in a horrible kind of parking area, full of stones, very near to the main road. We had to walk with bags and everything from parking area to the hotel. The breakfast is very very pour, bad coffee, cold eggs and dirty plates & coffee cups. The restaurant is not belong to the hotel, is separated and that don’t care much about each other. We had to go for good food in Varna city…This place is ok for one night only for visiting the Castle, without breakfast, in Balcik.

Perfect bad, huge balcony, huge room size, fairly clean and maintained, closeness to main restaurants and bars.

Very small bathroom in this room. I know there are bigger in other rooms.

Breakfast could be improved - a little bit more diverse and maybe include some pastries.A support for hanging la bayhing suits would definetely be needed.

It was cold and the staff couldn’t find us a heater. The air conditioning was not an option because it smelled very bad on heating mode. We were travelling with a 3 months old baby.

Just a one night stay with an early morning departure, so we did not have breakfast. Location was terrific, right in the middle of the seafront bars and restaurants.Extra pillows arrived swiftlyThe 3.30 a.m. taxi was ready and waiting for us.

Stayed one night here with my brother, so we used the main be and the sofa bed. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and I ached after just two hours of sleep from the metal frame and thin mattress cover on top of it. Also one wooden support underneath the sofa bed was broken. Showed a photo of this to the receptionist after we arrived in case anyone thought I had damaged it.There was a kettle provided to make tea - but no cups or mugs. When we asked for some we were offered wine glasses or asked to go to the restaurant and get some cups from there ourselves. We used the water glasses.I chose the hotel because the website said there was a free airport shuttle service. Maybe there is at 'regular' times of day but our taxi at 3.30 a.m. cost 100 lev (about £45).

Top location right in the middle of Balchik and at around 1.3km of walking distance (over a steep slope!) from Queen Mary's palace and botanical garden. Large rooms, very nice view of the black sea and Balchik promenade. Good AC, good breakfast, good-ish terrace with food and drinks.

Bathroom smells like mould. Overall cheapness in most furniture (some newer but cheap, other finishes older and dated., Balcony very dirty. Hotel advertised as having free parking but the parking is actually charged with 7 euros/ day. Overall a good location for a weekend stay but definitely not a 4 star location (except for the room size perhaps)
