    Pros +

    • The view for the junior suite is AMAZING! The pool, jacuzzi and the sauna as well....
    • The hotel has a nice view and the location is good, it has a spa with jacuzzi sauna and a pool that are open until 10pm which is good and nice after a day on the road. The room had a great view.
    • The hotel was overall pleasant. It seems like it was a beautiful property in its prime, though it could now use a bit more maintenance. Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is quiet and somewhat secluded, right off the road near the lake. Our room on the third floor—perched higher due to the hillside setting—offered a stunning view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent and served in a dining room overlooking the water. A memorable touch was the four large dogs in the parking area, dozing during the day but, as we were told, on duty at night to keep bears away from the hotel.

    Cons -

    • The view is sensational!
    • The bed is the worst bed I slept on, it is small and not really double, the mattress is hard as a rock, we couldn't sleep well at all.Even the sofa was so hard and uncomfortable. The food is mediocre, the breakfast doesnt have a lot of options and the bread and pastries felt stale. We also ate there for dinner and it was really not that good. The reception is never occupied and you need to look around to find someone for check in and checkout. And in the photos you see like a game room with bowling and pool table but apparently it costs money.
    • The design . A bit old and not updated.

The wiew , the room, the breakfast, the time of check out

The elevator don't working and nobody help us with the luggage to 2th floor. The heat (air conditioner) don't work. The safe was broken, not work.

    The location

The elevator was not working i had to carry the luggage by myself 4 floors.Very old facility, in one room the AC was not working.

The location was good. 15 KM from the village. View from the room over the lake was good from third floor. I would request a fourth floor room to see the lake better over the trees.

Bowling lanes were broken, billiard table did not return balls. The warm food cold was cold. When fot returned to us brought the meat was too hard. The bed pillows are flat, not good. There other hotels I saw with better views when you go further into the mountain to the north.

    Some furniture outdated

    The location

Let me start by saying that the location is great with stunning views and the staff is friendly and attentive. HOWEVER, this hotel is far from being a 4 star hotel. We booked a suite - furniture is old - minimalist and the bed is smaller than a doble bed. Ridiculous- for a Spacious room makes no sense to have such a small bed. The AC did not work. So we had to change rooms - we looked at 4 junior suite rooms - each had issues - bad AC or safety deposit box didn’t work. All old furniture. No WIFI either. We finally found a room with proper AC. Come the night time - they program to shut off all AC at 10pm. To add overnight the toilet did not work!!! And no one around to help us in the middle of the night. Imagine no toilet all night. The staff was always looking to help and remedy the situation if they were around but the owners of this hotel do not want to invest to fix this place up.Beautiful views , balconies and terraces- with no chairs or sun beds- nothing to sit and enjoy the views. Rooms don’t even have hot water kettle or coffee options. The WIFI was unreliable- the staff said it’s only promised in the lobby area.Another interesting note - by slight coincidence we overheard at a restaurant that the Transfagarasaan would be closed for a race. We asked at the hotel and they confirmed that between 10am to 5 pm this road would be closed. There were no signs no warning about this situation. Like why would you not advise the guest which main propose is probably to go on this road. After 11 pm no one at reception at all. Given the road closure we left at 7:45 am - and guess what - no one around reception. It’s unfortunate that the owners don’t care much in improving the hotel- yet they like to charge $$ high numbers.

Clean. Great view. The staff did his best to help especially the lady at the front desk

The AC didn’t workThe breakfast was very poor. The WIFI was unstable.

Location was great and the view extraordinary.

There is a constant smell of chlorine at the ground floor. Breakfast was average considering the price.

    7VitaliiPosted on: 3-20-2025

The hotel located in the best place with fantastic view. It has swimming pool with jacuzzi.

The hotel needs renovation as it is old. The game room for extra price. The breakfast is scarce.

    7MazareanuPosted on: 12-9-2024

Very nice position by the lake!

Old furniture and infrastructure! Very little things to eat in the restaurant!

    3DanidinPosted on: 10-27-2024

The view from the room is just amazing. The location of the hotel is very good and they have a nice parking lot. The quiet from the area is just amazing.

    1. The beds are really minimal size (1.40)2. The breakfast starts really late (8:00)3. We forgot our headphones in the hotel and nobody get in touch with us to say anything about it.4. They didn't check the functionality of the electricity so immediately after we got into the room the technician have to come and fix it.5. The design of the room belongs to 30 years ago.

    8MICHAELPosted on: 10-27-2024

The location and the fantastic lake view from the room.

The hotel is outdated, as well are the rooms. Not all staff knows English.

    6OleksandrPosted on: 10-22-2024

    Place, view that's it.

Only the location saves this hotel. Price too big, if compared to other 4* hotels in Sinaia and other places for the same price... They include SPA, access. But to be true this is swimming pool access, and old bubble "jucussi". Just for example, in Sinaia you will have the same price, breakfast like all inclusive, sauna, hamam, swimming pool and all around by.Everything is quite old, and well used, It looks like Dracula used this and since that time nobody is interested in that. No children's menu. Breakfast...dinner..better go to three restaurants, 30 min driving from the hotel. The location is to save this old hotel, which needs little rebranding for the money that they ask for it.

Location is excellent, staff very attentive and the property manager checked with us a few times to make sure we are being taken care of. Pool , jacuzzi and sauna well maintained

    5StephaniePosted on: 9-30-2024

like the location as the view is breath taking, lost of things to do on the lake. enjoyed the pool and access to the bowling

no AIR Con in the room, the hotel is very ran down needs a lot of attention

Just beautiful. Owner's pride of ownership in full display. It is immensely better and nicer than the majority of hotels in North America specially from major international chains. The big chains have a lot to learn from this family. And location is fantastic only 300 mts from one of the most amazing monasteries.
