Montein Hotel

Location is a little out of the way but lots of close restaurants. There is also a pretty good shopping complex just behind the hotel that has other activities as well. There's only one elevator but it is very quick.

Everything was great but we received some inconsistent messaging regarding the room key cards. When we checked in, the staff told us that we should leave the key cards with them when we leave the hotel and pick them up when we get back. We tried to do this about an hour or two later but the staff at that time told us it was only required in the morning. In the morning we spoke to a different staff member and they didn't know anything about it but still accepted both of our key cards when we left. It was fine, but would have preferred a standard process.

We stayed at Montein hotel for a night between rail trips. The lowest price and one of the highest rated hotels in the area during february. Shuttle service from the station was convenient. The public bath was great, with a sauna, beautiful view, all the amenities and even a massage chair. Room was clean and not very small. The staff at the front desk was kind and effective. You also get a discount at a nearby yakiniku restaurant by showing your room key.

Shuttle service and breakfast don't start early enough to catch the first trains and no special accommodation regarding can be made on request. The buffet was already set at the starting time so i don't understand why we couldn't go 5-10 minutes earlier, even if it was during the preparations. The single elevator was quite busy most of the time. No amenities at the front desk, we had to pay even for water.

The staff were excellent. The shuttle bus service was very convenient and pleasant to use from/to the train station. The onsen at the top of the hotel is the real charm point of this hotel. It’s so relaxing at the end of the day. There are many nice restaurants also surrounding this hotel within walking distance.

Mixer tap in sink did not mix the water well so that you can actually feel the stream of water coming out cold on one side and hot. Very uncomfortable.5. Very very tiny bathroom. No hand grab rail to assist coming out of bath tub where you have to shower in. Non slip srea of bath tub is not located logically where one would stand to get out of bath tub. Danger of slipping.6. Room is not very bright

nice and modern hotel, a typical hotel you would find in Japan - everything was great: easy to reach, wide breakfast variety and all amenities provided

as for all hotels in Japan, if you have big luggage the room can feel crowded
