JR-East Hotel Mets Kitakami

Comfortable and clean. Nice and close to the station. Breakfast was very basic for Western options. The help yourself anytime coffee machine was great. Overall, it was great for a quick stopover.

cheap, convenient location and the staff are bilingual if you need to speak English.

My only issue is that the bed was like a rock, not comfortable, but useable.

The staff are very friendly and nice to communicate especially the staff in the restaurant good food and nice staff

Breakfast spread could have been better with intercontinental choices. Had instead a good breakfast and coffee at Komeda

Good location for trains and also private cars. Parkings belonged to hotel are limited but available both days we returned around 5pm. If full, staff will point u to the commercial carpark separated by a wire fence, as long as you park between 16:00 and leave by10:00 next day (Otherwise 100 yen/ hour extra) get the parking voucher and hand to hotel and they will cover it (from my understanding)..so not a problem. Breakfast was fine and very good value. Staff was kind to put us at a quiet room as requested at booking and not facing train track.

Wish there are more eatery places around.

Great value. Central location to the train station. Nice breakfast. Room size was fine for two western adults. Desk staff was extremely helpful when I messed up our reservations and did not charge us extra even though they could have. Very impressed. Will stay here again.

Free coffee, clean, quiet, right in front of Kitakami station.

No convenient store near by so wish the hotel had more stuff customers could buy.

Awful due to the cigarette stench at the hotel

The entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. We made the mistake of accidentally booking a smoking room, which was somewhat manageable, but we had to hold our noses in the hall on our floor because the cigarette smell was so bad. We couldn’t wait to get out of there and would have sacrificed the money we paid in order to move to another hotel, but there was a festival that weekend and no one had any free rooms. There were 2x2” stains on two of our three comforters, and dead bugs throughout the curtains. When we got new towels, they smelled of cigarette smoke so we just used the same towel all three nights.

Next door to station and car hire places. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff . 2nd time here.

Pillows are a little hard for me but that seems to be normal in japan.

We stayed for two nights while snowboarding Geto Kogen. It was extremely convenient with the free shuttle running daily. The facilities were clean and the staff were very helpful.
