Hotel Folkloro Hanamakitowa

The staff were very nice. The room had 4 beds which is excellent for our family of four. The Onsen next door is convenient but was quite busy when we went. The breakfast in the morning was just right and we were all satisfied before we hit the road.

Charming property opposite to a roadside station and next to an onsen bath facility which can be accessed by a private entrance. Very comfortable ambience and attentive staff. The breakfast room also has wonderful views. Easy parking. Very good range of room amenities provided.

The room was comfortable though small (for the standard room size, 2 large luggages will be challenging), and beds were good. It was slightly difficult to get a good temperature for the heating (could get a little hot and stuffy). Bathroom small and basic. No elevator unfortunately.

The public onsen facilities were really nice, and the in-room bathtub and shower were nice. Breakfast was included and served in a very delicious buffet style with a mix of Eastern and Western style food. I really liked seeing the goat on the property.

It would have been nice if the mattresses were softer. They were kinda stuff, but I did still manage to sleep decently.

The facility was clean and modern. I loved spacious reading corner with interesting books about local culture and great breakfast.

The hot spring was located in the adjacent traditional ryokan ran by a different owner. The connecting bridge’s carpet was worn out and I didn’t like the way we were forced to walk in near feet after leaving slippers at the entrance of ryokan. I wish we could walk to the bath with slippers. The hotel room’s entrance was small and a door is heavy. It was slightly cumbersome to enter/exit with a suitcase.

Very friendly staff, nice onsen on-site. Clean room, we only stayed one night, they also offer lots for breakfast.
