    Pros +

    • The location is very good, the hotel just beside the station within walking distance. The bus stand is very near, and restaurants are available near it.
    • The location is perfect for travel with train.
    • Location, efficient check-in and check-out

    Cons -

    • Don't believe in Google map as I was puzzled. Just after the Shinkansen exit, please follow JR lines and gates on your left hand side direction and you will find it within 3 minutes.
    • The staff wasn't much helpful. They insisted on my uncle (who is already an elder) to do self-check in by himself while after that other staff went on to help the Japanese customer checking in in person in front of us. I just don't understand. And that staff were not busy at all.
    • Car park sometimes slow, no “lobby” as such, reception hall looks and feels cheap and like it’s some entrance to a building

Location is great. Near the station. The hotel is clean is clean.

    Room is very small.

It was a good location - easy access to railway station and busses. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequate and comfortable

Had trouble adjusting the temperature in the room - too heavy quilts gave unsettled night's sleep

The sound insulation was very poor! You can hear noice from above next door n the corridor .

Super good value for money. Very close to the station. Complimentary breakfast was great.

The rooms are quite small but you pay for what you get.

Very close to the station. Able to leave luggage before check in time. Breakfast included.

    Very firm bed & pillows.

Good food and stuff are friendly.

    Near to everything.

Usual small room but with everything we needed. Huge array of breakfast dishes on offer, plus great coffee, included in our room rate. Appreciated borrowing the free umbrellas. Very close to station.

Big hotel on 9 floors with only one small lift. Only stairs were the outside concrete fire escape. A few breakfast foods suitable for western tastes would have been nice, though very few westerners were staying there.

    Close to the train station.

Only a single elevator in the hotel. Not enough staff during peak hour.

Location was good for the JR station and very clean

small room, the breakfast was a disappointment ...not much variety and poor quality, served in the reception area with people checking in/out beside you, we stayed in 12 other hotels in Japan all in the same price range and this was the worst breakfast.

    8VoradonPosted on: 8-9-2024

It takes no more than five minutes to walk from the railway station to the hotel. The air-conditioned room is quiet and well-equipped with all amenties you need. Staffs are very friendly and supportive. The baggage can be deposited at the reception before check-in and after check-out times.

The breakfast choices could be more diverse. Only few protein menus are served.

    7MartinPosted on: 12-30-2023

Great location, just s stone's throw from the train station, buses and a taxi rank, and with lots of restaurants nearby. Room was predictably small, so not really a place to spend time in, but clean and perfectly comfortable for a night or two. Decent breakfast included in the price, and although little English was spoken staff were cheerful and eager to please.

Check-in wasn't until 16.00. Also, check-in is automated, so you're unable to ask for a room on, say, a high floor. You can leave your bags at the hotel, though, and we were able to change our room later upon request.

This hotel was chosen on the basis of location for a brief overnight stay. My expectations were not high however I was quite pleased with the hotel overall. While it was towards the budget end of the scale it delivered a pleasant stay.

    Not much

The room was surprisingly nice. Little touches (bookshelf, clock, painting) that help create a homely feel. The room was also very spacious and had a variety of lighting options. Also liked the bedside lamp, and USB power sockets beside the bed. The breakfast was quite basic, then again it was free. And in contrast to most business hotels, seemed to have some locally prepared dishes. It is super close to the train station. (This was one of 11 business hotels so far this trip, so I can make a fair comparison.)

Checked into hotel, had room key in hand, and receptionist realises it only twenty to four - only members can check in before four. So I'll have to wait 20 minutes. That is so ridiculously pedantic. She could have left me with the room key but say that I couldn't yet use the room.No wifi in the common areas of the hotel.

    7RobPosted on: 9-11-2023

Location from the station was excellent.

While the non smoking room was okay, the elevator and hallways smelt of smoke

    8HuPosted on: 9-9-2023

Location is good, close to the train station. Breakfast is acceptable, though it may be crowded on weekends.

Noise from the air-conditioning is annoying.

    7AlainPosted on: 8-6-2023

Conveniently located in Ichinoseki. Room basic and functional, rather small. Breakfast included and good.

I try to avoid Toyoko Inn when I can because the beds are incredibly hard, and this was no exception. I don't understand why this chain of hotels has this policy. Also I think it was overpriced with respect to other hotels we've been at in larger cities.

Good location, 2-3 minutes walk from Ichinoseki station, which is convenient if you want to visit Hiraizumi as there aren't that many places to stay there. From Ichinoseki station, the train takes about 20minutes to Hiraizumi and comes every hour or so.In terms of the actual hotel, it had a typical layout for a Toyoko-Inn hotel, with simple furninshing and small bathroom. Breakfast was good but it was on the light side. Probably the best part of the hotel were the food recommendations (only available in Japanese) on the TV screens from the staff - I went to an amazing seafood restaurant nearby, run by a fish monger. It also has laundry facilities which are great if you're travelling around Japan for several weeks.

There was only one lift for the entire hotel, meaning that at peak times, it took a good 10 minutes to go to and from your rooms. The breakfast was pretty good but the selection of hot beverages like tea and coffee weren't the greatest.
