D.R. Lanta Bay Resort

Great resort. The staff are super helpful and the whole place is kept very tidy and clean. The pool (one of two) was lovely and also very clean. Highly recommended.

Located right on the beach, the hotel has two swimming pools, many bungalows and hotel rooms. Family bungalow was spacious, all facilities needed, beach towels provided, water bottle supplied every day. Nice and helpful staff - booking daily excursions, transfers to airport, giving advice on what to do, etc.

Breakfast was OK, but absolutely the same every day, so after first day is not actually so good. Internet was interrupting and wi fi (even if connected), not opening anything for most of the day.

I really appreciated the access to the beach. And the staff is so warm and helpful.

There was a strange smell in the restroom. We asked them to use fresheners but it didn’t help. So that could improve.

Stunning location and the staff were excellent.

The resort is family friendly (which is great if you have children) but it needs to advertise that as we would have preferred to stay somewhere that was more adult only.The breakfasts were great but due to the number of people at the buffet, staff were needed to regulate the numbers and amount of food taken and then wasted.Bathroom facilities need an update.

Best beach location on the island hands down. Great value for the price.. Resort is an older resort so in Thai fashion maintenance is an issue and it is showing its age. Biggest complaint hard beds

Really friendly staff. Lovely, quiet setting, with the pool looking over a very uncrowded beach. Beautiful place to watch sunsets. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant cooked amazing Thai food in the evening. No bar or loud music, which suits us as we come for the peace.

No complaints, everything was as expected.

Egg noodle dish was extremely spicy: I would suggest rice porridge as an option instead of soup.

Air condition in room 403 took a long time to cool down. We had to use fan the entire night. Overall an excellent location and staff at front desk very helpful.

Excellent beach side resort. My 3rd stay.I got a good price from Booking and think I got good value. I had one of the rooms in the 2 buildings at the back, which I prefer. They are light and open and you are next to the large deep pool, great for swimming and rarely busy.The bungalows always look a bit cramped to me.The place is immaculate. The gardens are full of variety and well tended. Maintenance of the rooms is always good and everything works. The furniture is old hardwood that lasts and should not be replaced with any modern junk.Breakfast is the same each day, but there are so many different choices that doesn't matter.My only complaint is no shade for the plentiful sun loungers next to the back pool.

DR Lanta is on a beautiful quiet beach with some amazing bars and restaurants all within walking distance, some only next door. The food here is beautiful and a must try.The staff are super friendly and did everything we asked. After 2 days they knew our drinks order and just got them for us.Yes this property is a little dated but for what you pay, you can’t complain. It’s clean, tidy and that’s all you need when you are on such a beautiful island.

The beds are a little firm and my pillow was hard but I’m sure they would have changed it if I asked.

There was no sunshades or shade from trees at top pool. Would only give this resort 3 out of 5 because of this. To far out of town for us

The location on the beach is perfect, on the busier end of the beach with many restaurants,services nearby. Very easy to have a late night out and then a short walk back.

Our room was at the far end of the hotel from the beach. Not a big deal, its not that far, but we have already booked an upgraded room at DRLanta for next year.

Great location right on a lovely beach.Comfortable beds, good aircon, good facilities, with nice breakfast & 2 pools.

Rooms could use a refresh, but it didn't bother us and it was a comfortable stay.

I cannot say enough about the D.R.Lanta Bay Resort. The rooms are spacious and clean, the location is perfect, right on the beach, the gardens are beautiful and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The place was a typical family resort where kids can explore freely in a safe environment. The Beach's services and restaurants are awesome. Massage place is one of the best of this beach.

Everything is a bit dated and old. Some absurd tourist behaviour like reserving the sunchairs. The beach has many crabs and one of from our group got scissored in her toe.

Lovely landscaped grounds, right on the beach. A decent buffet breakfast from the onsite restaurant. Friendly staff.

One of the pools was very cloudy for all four days we were there. I wouldn't dream of swimming in it.

I do not like when the reception personal lie About our room. I reqest to not be put in room 610 for over 10 month ago. And still they put us in 610 again. And tell me that all the other rooms were for longstay guest. I notised that the guest in the other rooms only stay 2 days. So the receptionist lies to me. So very bad. And when I booked table for a birthday party 6 people at the beach in 4 days before and ask 2 hours before to confirm and I have a Ok from restaurant but there was no table when we arrived. So bad behavior from the hotel personal. When I complained their behavior I didn’t have apologies or compensation. So shape up.
