Cons -
- It was occupied by tenants in a care facility on a few floors. The shuttle didn't run on sundays. And was late for the first run to the airport on Monday. I'm unsure of it ended up running as I took a cab.

The hot tub was cold!
We loved it so much we came back for a second stay. I learned they do have lunch also. The first time we assumed no since they only take reservations for breakfast and dinner but they have lunch available too, no reservations needed. Highly recommend!!
The presence of a variety of bird species is most welcome. Of course, we enjoyed the nice view from the room and restaurant, as well as a beautiful pool (and decent outdoor hot tub).
The entrance to the property always seems a bit unwelcoming. A smile and a "please wait" would be a nice addition from the various security guards we've seen here over the years. On the other hand, we welcome the safe environment.
Lovely resort with an incredible amount of conservation park space! There was plenty of opportunity to walk, hike and swim. They have a very nice restaurant for dinner and great breakfast.
I wish they offered lunch if you do not wish to go to the city for lunch but that is only a minor drawback. Uber is very cheap in and out of town and there are many places to eat and enjoy in Alajuela.
There were several times when the road was blocked to resort. The first one was a motorcycle accident that blocked the road for 3 hours. The second incident was a telephone pole fell across the road due to rain and the road was closed for 24 hours. We could not get to the resort and until the next day. There was another route but hundreds of residents trying to get home blocked that road also.
Access to the resort with closure of the main road became a nightmare. The children went crazy without a televisions and good WiFi. Our teenagers had a problem with both . The resort is better for couples without children. The spa was very expensive. Have your children bring a few good books if possible.
Beautiful gardens and landscape, good spa, friendly staff
The rooms definitely need to be renovated/updated. When it rainstorms Inet doesn’t work, no tv in the room
The grounds are beautiful, safe, and magical. The services and staff were professional and friendly. The food was delicious. The rooms were large, beautifully decorated, and clean.
The view for dinner was fabulous and the property is a beautiful space. The staff is kind and helpful. I did a nature walk on their trails and it was gorgeous.
The amount of bugs in my room was horrendous and there was a swarm of ants by the toilet paper. I got food poisoning from breakfast which I suspect was the eggs. I was sick within 30-40 min and was down for the whole day. I had planned a spa day and couldn’t attend because I was so incredibly sick. The wifi didn’t work and I was constantly flicking bugs off of the bed from ants to mosquitos and everything in between. It felt poorly cleaned in my room and as if someone hadn’t stayed in it for weeks. It was disappointing from the standpoint of its cleanliness and comfort. One of the windows wouldn’t shut fully and it just wasn’t as clean as I had hoped. It definitely feels like a struggling hotel and that there are some areas to be improved. I’m sad I didn’t get to visit the spa as that was my whole purpose in booking here. Unfortunately, I won’t be back.
A great property to arrive to after a really long flight from the uk. Expect beautiful gardens, lovely swimming pools amazing views at breakfast and a throughly relaxing time.
The walking trails, the farm, gardens, view from restaurant, and the private patio
Beautiful views and walking trails, big spacious room, great food at the restaurant. So close to the SJO airport.
Disappointing
Noise of dogs Dirty bed (dust from roof)Breakfast missing pan cakesSwimming pool is getting broken Bugs at dinner restaurant
Beautiful location with great views and nature, unique and spacious rooms, friendly and very helpful staff, overall relaxing atmosphere.
Occasional airplane noise - small price to pay for actually being really close to the airport. Otherwise the only noises you hear are birds, crickets etc.
This was a beautiful resort. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. There are 17km of trails here. We went for a 2 hour hike and managed to see 3 of their waterfalls. The room we were in had no AC, but overnight was deliciously cool in the room. The daytime was a little warm in there though. The grounds are stunning. They have a greenhouse , goats, chickens. Just amazing.
We had a great couple massage including Jaccuzi with view over the city, it was great !
The grounds and trails were well kept and very good. The waterfalls were an added bonus.Meals and dining room service- very good.
A minor point but the room servicing was done until 4pm!
The uniqueness of this hotel is what made this standout. The staff were extremely welcoming and the room was amazing as were the grounds. The design and architecture is great. We walked the grounds and waterfalls and spent some time in the evening and the next morning in the sunset pool. Others have said about lack of other entertainment but with the pool, trails, views and waterfalls I’m not sure what else is needed.Perfect end to our holiday with easy access to the airport the following morning.
The hotel was quite expensive and you are paying for the uniqueness which like others have said is starting to look tired. We had and evening meal which was acceptable but if a choice was available I’d eat elsewhere
I just love this facility.
Most of staff smile at you while saying NO to everything you ask. I have the feeling that they are nicer with foreigners than with locals like me. I was better treated when I was starting with my (European) family and toys time I brought my Costa Rican family. That was for sure the worse part even worse than hearing "sorry we can't" to virtually anything I asked.
