Blue River Resort & Hot Springs

Les draps des lits étaient sales. La nourriture plus ou moins bonne. Nous sommes sortis de cet hôtel malade et avec une grosse tourista ce qui n'est pas habituel pour nous.

The property is gorgeous and lush and the several hot pools excellent. Good to have a full service restaurant on property because there's nothing else anywhere close. Friendly staff. Cabins were spacious and comfortable.

Drive there was brutal. Skip the horseback tour.

We loved the beautiful gardens, butterflies, hummingbirds, volcanic pools, mud bath, and excursion to Cathedral falls with great guide. Accommodations were spacious and comfortable and food was good.

Only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer.

The grounds were beautiful and the hot springs were amazing. We decided to go on the waterfall tour and it was really beautiful. It was a very challenging hike due to the rain. The mud with the hills made it a challenge. The staff were wonderful.

The food wasnt very good. Also, you really vant bring outside food into the rooms because of the ants and insects. It is very remote and the roads are really bad.

Authentic rural costa rican community surrounds the resort. It’s pretty remote feeling but only 1.2 hours from the city. Beautiful grounds and location. Neat stuff to do on site like mud bath, hot springs, mini donkey, birds, orchid garden, butterfly pen

There wasn’t a good central “hang out spot” for our rooms to gather to play a game or visit. Food was pricey and only a few options off site. While clean some might describe it as more rustic than high end.

Absolutely loved it the staff was amazing I think breakfast that's included could be better but I think it's very hard to get resources up there so I respect what they can do the facilities were great amenities were wonderful just a heads up the travel over there is really tough it's a really long ride from you the airport to the location besides that absolutely perfect

I'm going to be honest everything was pretty much perfect I think breakfast could be slightly better include eggs broccoli toast and a water cooler with water definitely absolutely need that in the cabin something like that other than that really good

The restore was amazing! This place seems like a beautiful place forgotten by time. At times it seemed we were the only people at the resort. The staff was so polite to us. We loved every minute of being there. The pools were extremely fun and relaxing. The tours they had were great. The food at their restaurant was also very good. My wife wish we would have stayed longer than 2 nights.

The road to get in is in rough shape from the city but that’s in no fault to the resort.

The grounds are beautiful and the pools, sauna and mud baths were great. I enjoyed the butterfly house and hummingbird area. Lots of different birds.

The road to the resort is quite rough. Not four wheel drive only but a small car would find it difficult. We had an suv vehicle and had to go very slow for 20km.

Very big rooms and the cabin Look is fantastic

The roads and the distante to anything else . But if you like to relax only is the perfect place.

A nice stay for a few nights, hot springs on site are great. Very nice massage at a reasonable price

This place is very clean, beautiful and peaceful!!! If you need time for yourself- it is the right place. The room was clean and big.there are beautiful gardens around the hotel, tot springs and natural sauna. We saw many different birds.

The road to the hotel is bumpy, but it is not a hotel's fault.

This is a gorgeous property with all facilities you will need . On site butterfly garden, hummingbirds, hot springs , restaurants, some tours , hiking . Food in restaurant was very good . There were tons of families here

Everything was good but I noticed the staff appeared a bit stressed out and overworked . I’m aware they have to work 6 days a week but maybe something could be improved upon . Extra help or a few hours off for personal time . I didn’t feel the Pura Vida . I’ve been traveling to Costa Rica for 25 years

Eco tourism. Never saw anything like this. Exceptional staff. Lush green hot springs on the location. Volcano mud bath , Natural Sauna all included in the price of the stay. Cabins were very spacious. We did twin falls excursion with horse ride and also Cathedral water falls Guide Jovani & Earnesto were very helpful. W/o them it would have not been possible to cross strong currents and go near the fall.

Breakfast can be improved!

The staff was very kind and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable.

A few cold pools and thermal pools were closed for maintenance which was sometimes very noisy. There was apparently some maintenance going on at the hummingbird area. Additionally, the spa and sauna were not open. We were not informed of any closures in advance of our stay. The roads getting to the property were difficult to traverse.

Great staff, nice basic rooms. Restaurant was decent with excellent staff. All staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful.

Not a lot to do in the area and the road from Liberia was horrible not the hotels fault in any way.

Liked the hot springs

It was a bit rundown and could use some maintenance- like the shower and toilet needed repairs and a good cleaning.

an old place, needs to be renovated, poor facilties (we couldnt find anyone at the spa). maybe nice for families with young children

This is a stunning little hideaway. We took full advantage of the hot pools and surrounding gardens for an amazing stay. Additionally I need to give a shout-out to the staff at the restaurant. They were amazing!!! Lastly, visit Dino Land. It's a fun little escape to see some animations dinosaurs in a stunning setting

Needed more time

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The wait staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and efficient.

No hot water in the shower. Maintenance came to fix the lack of hot water and only got hot water to the sink. Shower water was very cold. The in-room internet was almost non-existent. I documented 28Kbps. Never saw it above 500 Kbps. To get usable internet speed you have to go to the restaurant. Their cable tv system does not accommodate SAP. The thermal pools weren't hot. They were warm but not hot. I have lived in Central America for 28 years and have learned not to expect much but this was very disappointing.

nice thermal pools, mud bath/natural steam room, butterfly and hummingbird areas. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast decent, staff warm and responsive.
