Surrounded by 860 private acres of tropical rainforest and featuring an on-site lake, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and games room, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails is located within the Arenal Conservation Area, only 1.7 mi from the Arenal Volcano. The rooms at this lodge feature tropical décor with wood finishes and are equipped with ceiling fan, safety box and a furnished terrace with views of the garden and the Arenal Volcano. - Everything! Beautiful hotel and beautiful forest! Clean and convenient rooms with large terrace with incredible view of the lake, lots of trails in very good condition, very good quality breakfast with good food selection.
- This is one of the best hotel experiences every! The view, the grounds, the options, the services, are all incredible. It is beautiful! You are within nature. A short walk to the jungle, birds, monkeys, lizards, guided nature walks, all amazing!
- Lots of activities on the property, great facilities, very knowledgeable/helpful staff can arrange for activities outside the resort. Museum, pool/jacuzzi, nature trails all great. Restaurant is good w/ great breakfast. Cool nights so don't need AC.

- Remote location means extra driving time for activities outside the resort.
- The checking in counter has a very, very, very rude guy. Treat customers like he is the warden and we are the prisoner. I have been travel all of the world and never see such a stupid person, he never has 'please' or 'sorry' words in his dictionary.
