Great area
Maybe needs more activities for a rainy day. More snorkeling gear.
Friendly staff that made you feel welcomed.
Not at all.
beach was great breakfast was poor
no wifi in the rooms
Room service and spacious rooms very comfy plus nice shower suitable for family trips and most of all the baby cots provided for my son making him feel at home
Just the reservation very poor performance
The beach bungalow was well-furnished, large, airy and comfortable. We loved the two showers - one inside, one outside and also the 2 lines for drying towels, one outside and one inside. The air conditioning was powerful and quiet. The windows had totally effective fly screens. We loved the pool and the beach sunset bar.Fresh drinking water carafes are available daily. The owners are very hands on with the day to day running and totally friendly and approachable. They are working well with the local communities and the staff seem very happy to work there.
Everything was great! We will definitely book again for our next trip to Samoa.
Very good service from the staff. Lots of great options on the menu. Food very good. Great pool and excellent beach front location.
Rooms could have been a bit cleaner and bed was very soft.
Food is always wonderful at Saletonga Sands. Everything about the resort is perfection! Thank you for such wonderful and friendly staff. We love that the owner actually spends time talking to the guests in the evenings. Had the best massage I have ever had in the spa. Resort was spotless and pristine!
Better aircon, didn't seem to work very well. We also wanted to watch a movie but the player and tv were quite old and didn't work most of the time.
Location was amazing, our villa had amazing beach views. Breakfast was good. A bit of something for everyone. Staff were attentive to every need. Bar staff were great too!
Nothing really, it was pretty much fantastic
The site is lovely, the staff wonderful, friendly, helpful.
If you don’t have a car or hire a driver there’s no exploring off resort as there’s nothing within walking distance.
That it was situated by the beach
No wifi in the rooms, the booking system for massages I got mucked around three times and they ended up double booking me three times. No phones in the rooms to contact reception being pregnant and put up in a room upstairs was tough the walk etc.Room service is run different you have to walk to the restaurants and order it delivered to your room for $20 tala. Pointless tbh.Just not worth the money I would say.The waiters seem like they don’t like their job! I’m staying at another resort and the customer service here is outstanding you can tell they love their jobs where in comparison to Saletoga service was yeah not good for the 3 days we were there.
The location was incredible, loved that it was right beside the ocean. The gardens were impressive and so tidy. Lots of different areas to spend time.
No WiFi in rooms. Our family group was not put in rooms close to each other.
I really like the location being close to the beach. Also the villas were very spacious and roomy.
What disappoint me the most on the property was during dinner, they didn’t provide free water for the people. Dinner cost at the minimum $50 Samoa tala so I was expecting a glass of water. We have to pay $6 tala for a bottle or $4.50 a jug of water. With the weather being very humid and warm, water is important to keep hydrate. They provide a water station on the premises to refill water for the room but not provide it at dinner.
The pool, the beach, snorkelling was amazingThe toilets were always cleanThe Fiafia show was so good - totally recommendBreakfast was great - lots of choices
It was all good
Nice pool and gardens.
It was good to have a car as there is no tourist infrastructure around the resort. Though they do do day trips.
Clean, well maintained, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff.
The food portions and flavors could be improved.
Second time guests. Reliably very good resort. Exceptionally welcoming staff. Great location. Good food. Range of excursions, or take a rental car. Namua Island and Giant Clams the highlights and of course, To Sua Trench.
Nice pool. Not on the beach tho. Lovely coast line. Decent rooms, no frills.
Food was very poor quality and expensive. You absolutely would never consider ordering a second coffee at $6.5 a pop and barely drinkable. You felt like a walking financial target and every time you take a breath there is a charge. Free brekky was terrible. Staff weren’t overly approachable. We had a few trips to Coconuts resort during our trip which was a big step up in quality and service. We also ate in other places in Apia that were less ridiculously expensive and much better quality, so it’s not just the remote location of Samoa justifying the expense in this resort.
Beautiful gardens and beach area. Staff were amazing and very helpful.
Food was a little disappointing. Breakfast was average but plentiful. A La carte restaurant was sometimes good but disappointing with some dishes. Cocktails were poor with several ready mixed varieties.
We enjoyed our beachfront villas at Saletoga, they are roomy and confortable (not fancy) with insect screens so you can leave the windows open. There’s outdoor showers which were lovely. Would recommend getting beach villas if possible. and the quality of the food was hit and miss. The live music at the main restaurant was great. Massages were very nice but very pricy (200tala/hour). We had drinks at landing bar most sunsets which was really lovely. We had a fair bit of rain so were happy we brought an iPad with series. TVs only work with dvds and there’s no wifi in the villas/rooms. The resort is very well maintained and has a couple of small sandy beaches, kayaks, snorkels etc. We brought our own snorkel sets and fins and rashies. Snorkeling out the front is nice for spotting fish, the occasional turtle, sea star etc but the coral is mostly dead sadly. There’s day tours every day from the resort (we didn’t do any, I’d recommend you hire a car as it’s very easy and safe to drive around). Bring water bottles so you can fill them up at the water stations. Everything is charged to your room and you pay by card at the end with 4%fee or cash. The fia fia night on Wednesday was excellent and very impressive although the line for the buffet was as well. Make sure you book and ask for a good table!
It’s not quiet (lots of kids, we got woken up by cleaning ladies knocking at 8am, gardening staff loudly chatting out your window at 7am) so perhaps bring earplugs. The staff seemed overworked or unhappy and most were not super friendly or happy to engage in conversation. At the breakfast buffet I would go up and smile and say goodmorning and they would just blankly respond with: “your room nr?”! The breakfast buffet (7.30-10.30am) was fine (not amazing), they constantly runs out of things (had to ask every morning for a glass or bread or eggs) and you want to get there early (before 8.30-9) before the good things run out completely (avocado or cinnamon rolls were very coveted and we only got them 2/7days). Prices are quite steep, more than average Australian restaurant prices but the quality isn’t there. Hit and miss as some dishes great but others not. half of us had tummy issues (which could be from water or food who knows)Cocktails very expansive (25-30 tala everywhere), best to stick to local beers which are usually 12-15tala. Bring snacks and drinks would be my recommendation, as well as gastrostop and get the recommended vaccinations. You can prepay your stay via bank transfer or wise transfer to save the cc fee. However they charged my credit card without warning for 40% deposit 8 weeks before and then wanted the rest of the amount 2 days later. I told them I would transfer before arrival (according to the instructions) but they charged my cc without warning a week later! And then also accidentally charged something else which they canceled immediately but it put my card over the limit. Airport Transfer fees are steep if you’re with more than 2 people as they charge 80 tala per person instead of per car which I think is unfair. Get your own car I’d recommend.
Good clean facility . Great pool and fresh water stations everywhere. Friendly staff and Darren was great.
Breakfast was monotonous and boring. No variety with food. Ie maybe try some fried eggs, poached eggs etc. air conditioner in room leaked all the time and kept switching off. Poly cotton sheets were way too hot.
