Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD Hire

The owners rolled out the red carpet for us even though the COVID-19 pandemic was going on. What a beautiful place to stay! It was like being on the Hawaiian islands except you got to see kangaroo and koala bear. We plan on going back!

Great location! Just around the corner from the beach and bus stop. Restaurants and the island brewery are down the street. Beautiful setting and very nice, clean room with all the amenities. Wonderful check-in! Both welcoming and lots of information about the island and things to do and see.A quiet little gem of a place!

We loved the location, a few restaurants and a brewery nearby. Staff very friendly and was helpful having laundry facilities and a clothesline. Pool was nice too.

It was a really peaceful accommodation, beautiful surroundings, being at the top floor with nice views was an advantage. The owners are lovely super welcoming and caring.

Excellent,clean and tidyy place. The host both Jennifer and Rob were both friendly and very helpful for directions if you enquired for church services,good coffee places, sightseeing areas and swimming areas etc. We even hire a 4 wheel drive from them. It was easy and convenient to drive every and very clean and affordable. Thank you guys! Looking forward to seeing you next . Happy Day ?

The whole package from the time you walk from their driveway to your room. Admiring all the beautiful living plants and Palm trees as well as the lovely sitting area where the bbq is and the swimming pool. Spot on?

Had an absolutely wonderful time here. The setting in Picnic Bay is perfect, and was a lovely little oasis of calm. The entire property is surrounded by lush greenery and the pool area was very inviting. The barbecue area was spacious ( although we didn't have time to use it). The apartments were kitted out with everything we needed, including starter tea/coffee, and the addition of pool/beach towels was very welcome. Also really useful to have laundry facilities, at a very reasonable cost, particularly as we could also hang them outside to dry. 2 minute walk to the beach, which is idyllic, lovely walks along the Esplanade, and 2 minutes to the bus stop to get all around the island. And the hosts, Jen and Rob, were so welcoming and ready to help with advice on things to do, places to eat - even on our ongoing journey. Went to several places they recommended and wasn't disappointed. So glad we came across Tropical Palms during our search, I think it will remain my favourite place to stay during my entire trip.

Excellent, stayed here many times before and we will keep coming back, Rob and Jen are amazing people, really feels like our second home.

Our stay at Tropical Palms Resort was simply beyond our expectations: I slept here with my sister for two nights and everything was just perfect. Clean room and bathroom, there's a beautiful outside pool that unfortunately we didn't have time to use. Rob and his wife (so sorry I forgot her name) were so friendly and recommended places to visit and where to eat in the area. Rob provided us a map of all the island with the best highlights. This place is a little gem in this paradise of an island! Best choice ever ? thank you for everything!

The fact that I had to leave

Great location, hotel across road, never heard any noise from it, mall short walk away with a brewery, divine casual dining, pizza n pasta, and a place to enjoy breakfast and lunch, nice to sit and watch the water or after take a stroll down to netted swimming area, or along the jetty to fish. The resort is not large (thankfully) but well presented with a pool area, BBQ area. Also hires out vehicles. We have already booked to go back! Loved it!

I had an excellent stay in a great location. The owners were very friendly and told me everything I needed to know about the island. I truly recommend it!

That it had everything in it to cook or make your food, bed was comfy.

Um that I’m pretty sure I booked the room with the pool right outside cos there were photos that showed to but either than that it was great lol

Quiet location

No reception open while we were there it opens approx 10am-12pm

This was a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. It was easy to find and just a short walk from the esplanade that has a few restaurants, a pub, a cafe, a brewery and a gorgeous beach with a jetty to fish off (or just watch the world go by) and a swimming net. Picnic Bay is a quite spot on the island but the busses run frequently and on time to get you anywhere else on the island if you want to explore. The man on reception was so friendly with a no fuss check in and super informative about anything we needed to know. The accommodation is small but absolutely spotless. Paths and gardens were clean and maintained, the pool was sparkling, the outdoor bbq area super clean and spacious and the rooms were just perfect, actually better than the photos. They had everything we needed for our night stay, we would definitely stay again and hopefully for longer next time.

Handy location to the remainder of our family and the venue for our son's birthday party celebrations. The owners were extremely welcoming and were willing to offer any assistance required.

Only a minor thing but the toilet roll dispensers. Would have preferred normal toilet roll on a toilet roll holder.

amazing location (close to cafe, brewery, 2 fantastic restaurants), and close to the bus stops. such friendly and helpful hosts too!
