    Pros +

    • The CCHM is such a great experience in a true outback town. Sure, it’s pretty basic, few frills, but damn it’s atmospheric and delivers the experience you’re looking for. Breakfast was a good value extra, cooked personally by the owner. The adjacent bar/restaurant was great too. My time at CCHM will live long in the memory.
    • Good atmosphere at the diner/pub. We knew what were were getting and nothing was unexpected.
    • Shower was decent. Bed reasonably comfortable.

    Cons -

    • Calibrate your expectations appropriately and you’ll be fine.
    • Things were old and run down - kind of what I wanted and expected to have but my wife didn't like it so much.
    • No bench in shower. No hair dryer. Dinner was very poor, steak overcooked tough and dry.

    great location. close to everything

was a little pricey but can't complain. Netflix and WiFi and air con available and meals available so to be honest after driving all day That's all me and kids cared about

Proximity to the caves , smelters, the motel bar and restaurant and price.Staff go out of their way to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience.Rooms very basic but most importantly clean and comfortable beds.

Nothing really, basic room but met our needs fully .If ordering drinks and paying by card be mindful min order is $10 although alcoholic drinks are priced at only $8 so affordable when compared with other establishments andthat was more of a plus than the minimum card fee so still thumbs up for this motel .

It was the only room we could get for our dates. We liked the very old fashioned vibe of the place. The owner was nice when we saw him. There was a very local crowd at the bar and pool table. Food was ok.

Booking.com said there was breakfast but there isn’t on Sunday. Only instant coffee which is ok. The bed was uncomfortable And you can hear every conversation going on in any of the other rooms. People don’t care if they are keeping you up. there is very little open in the morning. Nothing is open before 8am.

Older style accommodation but it was clean, checkin was easy and staff nice and friendly

The meals at the attached motel/pub were terrible, meat still raw and the lasagna was definitely from a frozen packet out of the supermarket. The crumbed steak was soaking in oil.

Nice country pub plenty look around at especially kangaroos hopping around

    Nothing negative about the place

Owner was excellent. One evening I requested a cooked breakfast for the next morning at 8.30 and as i walked in he came out with the breakfast. That's service. Outside dining area was great and food was excellent.

Friendly staff, good food, the paella was to die for.Rob and Randy made us feel very welcome. The place is simple but comfortable. I'd love to stay again if I was in Chillagoe again.

    Friendly staff

Room could be updated and cleaned more thoroughly as I had to pick up some cockroaches

The bed was comfy, the room was clean, the people there were friendly, dinner was good value. The shower was hot and there was a car parking spot out the front of the room.

the overhead bedlamps didn't work. there was only 1 teaspoon.

Located in township, and was pretty quiet

Broken light fixture, power point, toilet bowel, TP holder, splash skirting in bathroom coming off wall, and general maintenance needed. Also only 3 channels on tv, no power point near bedside table, and bed had uncomfortable springs

The meals were delicious, excellent value, superb.Staff were tiptop, friendly and helpful.

Close to the pub. Comfortable bed, though needed more pillows as ones on bed were flat and had zips across the middle.

Toilet was dirty, bed moved due to castors not being secure on a tiled floor. Very poor value for money. No tea bags. Very old style that definitely requires updating.

    8LeoPosted on: 5-4-2023

The owners were very accommodating, no problems with meals - they worked in with us on times etc. Beds and pillows were compfy, bird life abundant, Rob was very informative on the district and history.

Not enough bench space in the rooms. Could have done with a small bench in the bathroom and another outside the bathroom.
