Cons -
- The mattress a little hard, needed some more utensils.
- curtain in bathroom blows in and makes having a shower painful. A shower door would be better.
- Nothing, I would %100 go back and recommend others to stay

There was no breakfast
The room was a little dated, but still very comfortable
Hay Point hosts a massive coal terminal and I'm guessing a lot of guests are connected with that. The cabin was spotlessly clean, beds were excellent, well equipped kitchen. Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly reception. Right next to beach, has a pub/restaurant attached to it with good food
Great spot to unwind comfortable room great food and friendly staff Sunday morning breakfast was unbelievable for the price.
Great value property with adjoining bar. Nice alternative overnight stop if you want to avoid Mackay.
Be aware that the Dalrymple Coal terminal is in the next bay. We didn’t notice it at all during our stay (eg no noise), but the bar, food, value and outlook from the hotel all make up for this.
Great rooms , great food at the restaurant, the staff were very friendly definitely stay there again
Spacious clean comfy cabin
Great location and super clean. Lovely staff and super responsive!
Clean room with extra amenities and plenty of storage space.
The sound of the fridge. It was loud and was totally constant.
Michelle would have to be one of the best reception/managers we've come across. Professional, knowledgeable and helpful, she's a real asset to the establishment. The location is lovely. Literally a stone's throw from the ocean and quite peaceful. Some interesting birdlife too with bush turkeys wandering about during the day and curlews making themselves at home on the verandah at night. It's only a 20 minute drive to Sarina and a half hour drive to Mackay. The restaurant being on site was a welcome convenience, good pub style fare and awesome staff. The coconut prawns and their pizzas were a big hit.We stayed in one of the two bedroom private cabins the first night and moved to the disability accessible cabin the second night. Both cabins to be 80s vintage with some upgrades, were very well looked after and spotlessly clean. Both styles of cabins have full kitchens, hotplates but no oven, and good sized lounge and dining areas. Plenty of cups, plates etc and cookware plus cupboard space to put your food supplies. They both have decent sized wardrobes in the bedrooms with a bench area to put a suitcase to unpack and then store underneath.
The biggest issue for me was access to the first cabin. As a plus sized person with mobility issues, related to a psychical disability, I usually check what the access is like in terms of stairs etc and what the bathroom layout is. I unfortunately did not do that this time.Cabin access included an uphill concrete path that was stepped in two places with one step larger than the other. Both steps lead directly into the next incline rather than a flat area. Having one foot that lacks flexibility made it impossible to navigate these without physical support from my husband as there are no rails to aid stepping up and down. The stairs to the cabin itself also have no railing and to access I had to physically climb on all fours, both up and down, as there was nothing to grab onto for support. The addition of rails in both areas would resolve the issue. The disability accessible cabin also had a couple of issues with the interior. The adjustable shower head needed to be replaced as only two functions worked and one of those not fully. The handle to turn the water on and off and adjust temperature is an older style larger profile one that is very easily bumped and moved whilst showering. The addition of a weighted shower curtain would be an economical way to help stop water escaping and flooding the area around the toilet that requires cleaning up after each shower. This type of shower curtain is extra long, has internal weights along the bottom of the curtain to help keep the curtain firmly in place and prevent water from escaping while the shower is in use.The bedroom itself may not be easily accessible for anyone in a wheelchair. The doorway appears to be standard width. If it is, that could prevent entry whilst in a wheelchair. The bed however is on wheels making it easy to move to one side of the room to better access the bed.
Comfortable rooms with spacious parking. Loved the convenience of the bistro.
Bistro and water views accommodation
Because it is located near a coal mine there were workers everywhere. You can’t really swim at the beach.
Close to Sarina and 12km off the Bruce highway this is a hidden gem. It is located within a mining community and the rear door of our motel unit opens onto a large lawn with coconut palms etc and sandy beach with wharves and machinery in the backdrop which sounds a bit weird but it really works. We had a superb meal in the Hotel which has a country pub atmosphere. The staff and patrons were all very friendly. We would definitely reboot this motel again.
Nothing is perfect but we enjoyed the whole visit. No complaints at all.
Location
I had rissoles , they were fine. My partener had oysters mornay, tasteless, and she vomitted for hours
The staff were super lovely and the room was very clean and tidy. It was perfect for our short one night stay.
A motel near hotel.. What a surprise to find this oh so quiet and amazing motel with that Waterview then the convenience to have a great value meal right next door at hotel.. Superb..
Nought
Lovely staff, couldn't be more helpful. Everything I needed was on site- ATM, restaurant, laundry with washing and drying. Area was very quiet considering there looked to be many workers staying there and a popular pub / restaurant. Neat and tidy and it was minutes from the vessel berths I was attending. Perfect!
