About
Dar Yanis is just a 5-minute walk from Rabat’s medina and the beach. It offers a shared lounge with a flat-screen TV and a library, as well as free mint tea and Moroccan pastries upon arrival. The DAR YANIS riad is located in the heart of the medina, 164 feet from the main artery, Avenue Mohamed V, but quietly nestled in a small dead end; it is 5 minutes from the beach. 656 feet from the riad, guarded public parking lots (5 dhs/hour) are available at the entrance to the medina. The rooms at Dar Yanis have been decorated in a traditional style and feature a Berber carpet. While all include free toiletries in its private bathroom, some also provide air conditioning. Traditional bread, pastries and seasonal fruit are just some of the items offered at breakfast. You can also relax on the terrace or on the patio throughout the day and order a hot or soft drink. Private parking is available near the guest house, with an extra cost. Rabat-Sale Airport is 3.1 mi from the property and Arrêt Bab El Had Tram Stop is a 5-minute walk away, which provides links to central Rabat.

Cons -
- There was a dampness in my room that never seemed to dissipate, even with the heat on.
- It was a bit noisy at night
- Not a dislike but a suggestion to include eggs in their breakfast for protein, put a blow dryer in the rooms and add a little bit more light in the room (though I thought this may be how Riads are actually designed as the next Riad we are staying in has the same modest lights in the room :) )

The best part of this Riad is the family-owners. They are so kind, helpful and go out of their way to please us and make us comfortable. The Riad, despite near shops in the Medina, is in a quiet area - we slept comfortably. Their coffee and tea were great. Breakfast was generous - pancake, croissant, jam, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea and fresh oranges. There are good restaurants (recommended by Azi) a few meters away. We enjoyed the juices of freshly pressed oranges and pomegranate. For me staying in a Riad is an authentic experience - service by owners are very personalized and warm compared to hotels.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The decor is unique, the breakfast substantial and satisfying. The location inside the medina is great if you want to roam and experience authentic Moroccan daily life.
nice terrace; very colourful property. Great location- easy to find.
bedroom and bathroom doors both extremely warped and awkward to close. Bathroom was tight. Breakfast area tables and chairs very awkward and uncomfortable; had to sit sideways because legs couldn't fit under the table.
The staff was helpful and very good breakfast was served there. The room was good, even little bit outdated.
Bathroom needs a renovation and door was hard to handle. The city tax was the highest of entire all our entire stay in Morocco (even higher than in hotels) and worst rate was given for it (the total difference was not relevant, but it gives me a strange impression from handling staff).
Great staff. Went out of their way to accommodate us. Excellent location in Medina
Room and bathroom felt small
The hosts are wonderful, smiling, and very kind. The location is excellent. The riad appears to be either new or recently renovated – it’s very well maintained. Our room was very clean, and even though we stayed only two nights, it was tidied up after the first night while we were out. Breakfast was great.
Everything was great!
Great location near everything I wanted to see. It was only a 15 minute walk from the Rabat-ville train station. There were many food options nearby. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. There is a nice rooftop terrace. The breakfast was plentiful.
It would be good to add an egg to the breakfast to balance out the carbs.
Distance, comfort, breakfast, staff perfect
The place was so conveniently well located. Easy to get to and within walking distance to everything we wanted yo visit. Dar Yanis was comfortable, clean and had a beautiful Moroccan style. The staff was exceptional. Naima, Sophia and two gentlemen did everything to make sure we had everything we needed. They truly made us feel at home. I definitely recommend this place.
Cozy hotel located in walking distance from most of city's main highlights and also not far from the train station. The staff was very welcoming and kind. If you want to try typical (rather sweet, but tasty) Moroccan breakfast search, look no further. Overall we really enjoyed our stay
The property was full of charm, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and always ready to help. The location was ideal, close to everything I needed while still peaceful.
Everything was wonderful—I truly enjoyed my stay.
I don't know where to start because everything was excellent. I'd have to say that if you are looking for an authentic, welcoming place to stay that feels like you really are somewhere special, this is the place! I will start with a lovely breakfast with fresh ingredients. The room was cozy and the furnishings were rustic and authentic. It has a charm that you will not find anywhere else. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice. The neighborhood was convenient. Just off one of the main roads, so it was quiet. But it was close to the main shopping areas; the central market was only a 5 minute walk. The kasbah was a 15 minute walk. Plenty of shops and nice restaurants around. But what takes the cake is the service, the people. The people who greeted us and made us feel welcome made us feel like we were part of a family. I do not say this about many places I visit. People around the world have been nice, but the family who run Dar Yanis, and the people of Morocco in general, are some of the loveliest people we have ever met. Thank you to the staff who made our first time on the continent of Africa an unforgettable experience. We are looking forward to our next visit.
No dislikes.
From the moment I set foot through the door, I was welcomed with a warmth that made me feel like home. The attention from the staff was beyond compare, namely Adil and Naima - Choukran Bzaf! every gesture felt personal, every detail thoughtful. This place wove itself into my heart, becoming a haven I’ll carry with me until I return. Thank you for a stay that meant the world to me!
The breakfast and room were both great, the location in the Medina was perfect, close to the main street with all the restaurants, cafes and shops but on an alley so it wasn't noisy. Short walk to the beach. The room was very clean and pretty. The best thing about the stay was the staff (especially Adel whom I met most often was such an amazing host)! They were all so kind, welcoming, and helpful with everything. I came back for a second time during my vacation and will come back next time as well. Thank you so much! Highly recommended.
Everything was great, nothing negative to say!
Beautiful decor, great location, friendly staff, comfortable room, air conditioning, delicious breakfast.
Well, we had an awesome time with the greatest welcoming staff imaginable namely; (starting with the owner Ms. Hind, Adel, Naima, Imad, Safia) We have been there for only 3 days but fell like we are already part of a Moroccan family. The location is also great and overall we can say we were very pleased.
Excellent location near all the main attractions of Rabat and close to the main street. The room was large, comfortable, and the toilet was wonderful. The staff was incredibly friendly, very attentive, and replied quickly to everything i needed.
The AC was not working well and cooling the room. There were a lot of ants on the floor near the bed.The breakfast could be more salty like adding some cheese because its very sweet
