Amazing location, right next to the beach and Adder rock which is awesome for sunset! Clean rooms, comfy bed, info booklet in each room with things to do in Straddie and super friendly staff. Such a special island

The only thing positive is the location

Cleaning is a mess.Building maintenance is a mess.A plate with fruit peels was left out all day without being removed.The staff's personal storage area is disorganised.The television was not working.The internet was extremely slow.

great location right by the beach, friendly staff and decent amenities. the process of checking in and out was super easy and I especially enjoyed the outdoor showers.

some parts of the property were dirty. of course there will be some sand but overall the floors, common areas, and bathroom needed a clean. I also thought it was a touch over-priced.

Everything!!!The hostel was clean, calm, bright, 50m from the most beautiful beach with large, tidy and well equiped kitchen. The stuff is super nice and helpful. I wasn't diving, but I had the most relaxing weekend by far.I can't wait to come back :)

From kids, teenager & adults love the location, so close to the beach. My kids love the bunkbed and games facilities. Easy to access, near the bus stop.

The games facilities are a little bit too old ?It's interesting to know that we have to pack up our bed sheet that we used?

The Beach

The bed was not suitable for elderly people my friend has a problem with her legs so the stairs was a problem for her

The mattress was great .i fo like how there was body wash ,shampoo ect .

The shower was dirty and the air vent fu l ull if dust ,falling in me GJ oing into the shower..Sould be locks of the fridge doors for each backpaker because that is what the place is .my door to my room looked liked ot was dirty and needs a paint the whole place rundown . No milk in room..kn check it no informatin was given for things to do and prices .lame attentent ..

The showers were not the cleanest but passable for s hostel. Overall fantastic stay

Accommodating staff helped with additional blankets. Noticed shampoo and conditioner dispenser added since last stay. Comfy beds . Great location . Excellent correspondence upon booking. Slightly early booking 1 pm . Fire checks conducted during stay but very polite and mindful of residents

Dusty/ mouldy aircon vents in room and bathrooms . Mould in shower area . Room 102 same furniture needing repair ( desk drawer not opening ) this was noted at last 3 visits years apart. Bin pedal broken and light shade broken also . Minor maintenance required. Preset aircon is very cold but staff kindly adjusted

So close to the beach and staff were super friendly. Lovely family owned business and got to meet the kids who were lovely. Surf board and snorkelling hire was epic. Additionally it’s located right next to a scooter hire place which was legendary!

Rooms were pretty hot but wasn’t too bad. Also a little sandy at times

Aircon and location were awesome!

Unfotunately mattress was not so comfortable. Kitchen fridges should have large containers on shelves, so other peoples food doesnt drip onto your food. More dishwashing liquid and handwash at the sink. Would have loved some shelves for luggage and hooks (rather than the hanging space).

The property is close to the beach and easy to access. It is a family environment and very quiet, the room was very quiet during my stay and we had no problems using the bathroom.

The very spacious social area, super comfortable sofas, the giant kitchen and the location, a beautiful beach only 1 minute walk away, super recommended, the place was a group of 9 people and we all loved it

Good location. Close to public transport (bus stops), home beach, adder rock and the roadhouse convenient store. The default option on the website is 4.30pm latest for check-in but it could be extended to 8pm upon request.

The wifi internet signal inside the lounge was quite poor. It might be better if a booster is installed in the lounge. Some backpackers left dirty dishes in the sink for a long time at night and in the mornings and didn't wipe the table. I guess that wasn't the fault of the hotel management as they do have cleaners during the day.

great location right on the beach! beautiful beach too! great sunset up at Adders rock. Spacious air-conditioned room, good size for a couple, even had a little bar fridge in the room. shared kitchen was clean and had designated fridge shelves for each room, bathrooms were clean. staff were friendly. nice quiet lodge for a nights stay. Would stay again?

mattress needs to be replaced. the springs dig in a bit unfortunately.

The room was clean but we couldn’t use the fridge as it was extremely smelly. The doors/door hinges throughout the building were really noisy, possibly through moisture buildup.
