Pros +
- The villa is quite clean and tidy. The staff, although not present were responsive over text and were able to swap our villa to one with aircon as our initial one did not have any.
- The view was really nice. Great top of the hill position. The tennia court looks good by the way.
- Nice modern 2storey Townhouse located on top of hill overlooking beach near the Tavern Has spacious modern bathroom n open planned upstairs kitchen lounge n dining area with large deck with BBQ. Close by car to Point Lookout cafes, The Pub, n the Cliff Top n Gorge walks.
Cons -
- Would not call this a "resort". It seems like a deserted resort which has been abandoned. We were there Sat-Mon and there were no staff present. The majority of the villas do not have aircon, so be careful!! They are ridiculously humid and in QLD weather not habitable. There are no food options available. The restaurant seems to have closed shop, never open and no close cafes - all within driving distance. It's in a random suburb on top of the hill, therefore will need a car. The villa itself was very small, but we had to go to a 2 bedroom from the 3 bedder we booked for aircon. Beds very uncofortable and need renewing. Couch filthy with lots of stains. Did not want to sit on it without using my own blanket on top. These are just some of the things I remember, all in all for a beautiful place like Straddie, would recommend somewhere else.
- The place was not correcty cleaned and all the kitchenware and utilities were super old and torn. Need to pay attention to these details since it is really bad for a visitor to be cleaning the place from day one. This details are easy to fix. The barbacue was rusty and the oven was old as well. The dishwasher was't cleaning the dishes when used. These utilities might be harder to repllace but worth it, because of the view. The couch would also need a cleanup, with all the white pillows that looked yellowed. We found cockrouches.
- Location definitely requires a vehicle as very hilly. The things that annoyed were small yet detracted from our stay. Curtains in bedroom gossemer thin allowing early morning light. No substances to pillows therefore hard to get comfortable n sleep. Cleanliness of couch n the bannister needed attention.

The view is fabulous, sunrise and sunset was enjoyed from the balcony. Nice thick blankets were provided for the winter and plenty of dishwasher tablets were appreciated!Great communication so we could just turn up and pick up the key!
I loved the location facing the ocean with amazing scenic views and a chill atmosphere. The place was very clean and we were glad to get the opportunity to play tennis and swim around the pool too.
There were not enough toilet paper rolls. We were 3 guests staying for 3 days and we were provided just 2 rolls altogether for the entire stay. For the amount we paid, one can expect at least a few more without having to pay extra to collect from the reception. Also, there should have been a mirror in the bedrooms, either affixed or standing alone. The bedrooms are incomplete without them and we have to keep going to the bathroom for it.
Positives: awesome views over cylinder beach. Tennis court and pool looked in reasonably good condition. Negatives: unit wasn’t left in a clean state when we arrived. The pots and pans in the cupboard still had oil, food, popcorn kernels inside. The BBQ was absolutely filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. Heaps of cockroaches in the unit - we were there for 2 nights and had 4-5 cockroaches in the time running around the house, including inside the dishwasher! The board games and books in the bookshelf also had cockroach nests and cockroach poo all over them which was rather disgusting. The restaurant was closed - we thought it looked like it might be permanently closed, and also looked like it has been abandoned for some time. Overall the entire property looks pretty run down
We had the most amazing experience at the resort. Our self-catering unit had everything you could possibly need. It was spacious, had a "beach vibe" and the sea view from our unit was exceptional. We will definitely stay there again in the future.
The only thing that justified this stay as three stars was the view/location. The staff were helpful and quick to respond when issues were raised (mouldy and broken items), but the state of the 'villa' was two star at best. It was not clean, the shower, fridge, kitchen amenities and toilets were in poor condition. In terms of facilities, the 'resort' restaurant was not functional during our stay, but the tennis court was a welcome activity. This place has lots of potential, but the small details have been overlooked.
Clean and well equipped.
No AC and no restaurant
Terrible 4 adults , one bathroom,2very small beds No equipment in the kitchen, no foxtel …. Appalling Embarrassing as we had visitors from overseasNever again
As above
The views and position was amazing
the pedestal fans provided didn’t work. The gas bottle for the bbq was empty.
Good facilities
No internet , view was blocked by overgrown vegetation.
Fantastic position, great views.
No air con, BBQ not working
Love the self-contained apartment, makes holidaying with kids so much easier. Great location, very clean, friendly staff.
Location was central to amenities and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The kitchen equipment was old with some moldy utensils stored in drawer and most of the oven trays were rusted. There was no air conditioning in the apartment at all.You could not use the resort facilities.Parking in the garage was difficult.
The location was good though one would not want to stay without a vehicle to get around especially with young children and in summer - the property being high on a steep hill. The verandah not only provided a pleasant outlook but caught the ocean breezes. There were extra touches - like the ability to borrow rackets from the office for a game of tennis.
The Unit was a little tired. There were some basic things needing doing - for example a spray of RP7 on sliding doors that would get stuck; a new toilet brush (the one in the main bathroom looked like it had seen many better days); new skillet in the kitchen - the larger one was so heavy I had to fetch my hand splint after using it.
Large, cool and quite.Staff were excellent.
I wanted to do a fresh fish cook up but the cooking gear was a lil on the dirty side
Location, view, garden and small deck.
That it didn't have a dishwasher or dryer.
Location is great, 4 mins drive to Cylinder Beach. We had the ocean view 2 bedroom double story unit, which was great. The place is nice and clean.
There were no coffee sachets etc provided, which you normally expect in a resort.
Location, view, facilities, staff was very helful. Fully equiped kitchen with all you need and also kids stuff Restaurants and beach nearby
Would be nice to have ac on the second bedroom.
