Pros +
- The room was spacious and quite clean (but dated). TV was large and new, but Netflix didn't work properly (many pauses for buffering due to slow internet). Fridge was good size and cooling well (but very loud adding to the distractions at night). AC was efficient, but not super quiet either. Location is OK, close to Fly Point and Little Beach, but around 30 minute walk to the main part of town.
- Room was comfortable and large, bed was good. Location was as expected when I booked.
- The staff were lovely. Communication with the hotel was smooth. It was a very pretty hotel in an excellent location. The value was unbeatable.
Cons -
- Don't book if you value your sleep. The bed feels smaller than queen size (I didn't measure though) and the mattress is soft and completely worn off. So you get no support and feel each spring as a 'bonus'. The beds walls are paper thin, so if you are staying with inconsiderate brats as neighbors you won't get a wink of sleep. The Wi-Fi is so slow that it's non-functional, so if you're travelling from overseas, better get a local SIM card (we are locals). All of Nelson Bay is overpriced, so I actually regret not staying in Newcastle. I always use motels for short stays and have stayed in amazing places costing half the price of Lord Nelson.
- The grounds were a little unkempt - the main sign for the place had fallen and was just lying on the ground near my balcony. So a little untidy.
- We arrived on a night that was very cold. Regrettably the air con was not working and there was only one thin blanket available so neither my husband nor I were able to sleep well because we were so cold.

Well managed motel with spacious room and good facilities. Quiet and handy location.
Location was great girl on front counter was very helpful rooms were clean plenty of room
Not enough power points to charge devices when listing said Netflix I presumed it was provided not that I had to use my own account wifi wasn't connected to tv had to ask at desk toilet kept running to long after flushing bathroom taps dripping
The staff was lovely and the motel nice, comfortable and clean. We got to use their laundry machine and dryer which made our weekly laundry extremely easy.
We heard our neighbors well.
Location, cleanliness in and out, comfortable
Appliances were not good, esp. Microwave oven.Digital alarm / radio turns on randomly during the night.
It was only one night and very convenient for the function we attended.Value for money.
The place was ideally located, clean with excellent service.
Unfortunately the walls between units are not sound proof and it's very easy to hear every sound and every word that is made by adjacent rooms. Fortunately the people in those rooms were quiet after midnight. That is my only complaint, otherwise it would have been perfect!
I had a really good experience at this motor inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. Everything went smoothly during my stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to others looking for a hassle-free and pleasant stay.

Very roomy space. Lovely location, close to beach - a short walk through lovely garden.
couldn't lock the outside door.
I always hope there is something redeeming when I have a poor experience at a property. To be fair, the room was clean, and as good as can be expected for a "tired" property.I appreciated that, but not much more.
My arrival experience still leaves me bewildered.I expect ther front desk to be open at 7.00 - 7.30, especially on a Friday night in a location that relies on weekend trade.OK.. so the office was closed.I looked around for some way to check in and found a phone number to call "after hours".I rang the number and went to message bank. I expect, especially at that time of night that the phone would be monitored ans answered. That didn't happen.I stood around for some time at least expecting a call back, but no such luck.Fortunately, a person walked past inside and I attracted her attention.Having explained my situation, she was able to unlock the keybox so I could get my key.Again... no such luck. My key wasn't there and I was questioned about whether I was checking in that day... We finally went into the office, so she could check my booking.Believe it or not, I was told that I has already checked in... what the??I then went through assuring her that I had jkust arrived. So who was in my room?Frankly, after a 5 hour drive I didnt care, and just wanted a room.I was finally given another room and I retreated in haste. In the room, I get that there need to be rules, but if you want to impose these, then also offer services. BOTH should be on display. In this daty and age WiFi is common. There was nothing in the room (that I could find) where I could get a password.Do you think I was going back to reception to ask.....??I stay in a lot of places in a lot of towns and countries. If you want to be in this business, SERVICE comes first.I didn't find that here...... sorry to say.
Simple Hotel with enogh room, quiet, fully equiped kitchenette, all the essentials in bathroom, free parking spot, late check out time
We couldn't find the wifi password, but were only there for one night, so no biggy
Quiet location, good easy and free private parking
Property is getting old but well maintained and comfortable.
Good value roomy accommodation that’s been nicely renovated and tastefully decorated.I loved the kitchenette provided and the toiletry products.I like the fact the property still takes hygiene seriously with the provision of sanitiser stations.
The bad weather was the only downside but we still enjoyed a relaxing weekend and enjoyed eating out.
Room was clean and comfortable. motel was handy to everything. We have stayed there 3 times before and find the staff very efficient
No complaints
Great location. Super friendly staff, and very clean!
I love the location so close to little beach and the Club.
I have stayed here a few times now and unfortunately the bathrooms are dated and not entirely cleaned due to the age of the bathrooms. The bathrooms need to be updated. When we opened the window we found the upstairs air conditioners very noisy.
Quiet clean comfy and good location
