Clean, tidy and modern. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Gunnedah. Trust me, we have.

Lovely room spacious and clean.

Walking distance to restaurants. Staff helpful. Continental breakfast is good when included in price.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were exceptionally clean.
The locks were very stiff, so opening the doors was often a little difficult. Need to change locks or oil them. Cost was a little expensive.
Lovely big room, very clean, comfortable beds. Very happy with our stay
Location was excellent loved the breakfast included. Nice and quiet
I thought the price was very high for a motel room

The Mackellar Motel is our "go-to" accommodation when we are in Gunnedah. Always a great experience. Comfortable, clean, close to everything in town and good breakfast.
Great location and fantastically helpful staff. Probably more of a comment on the town, but great vibe in Gunnedah. My kind of place!
Had everything we needed and the pub up the road provided great food, great beer.
Well appointed room friendly welcoming atmosphere. The free breakfast had plenty of variety. Located opposite the Gunnedah Services Club easy to find,
Beautiful staff! Clean, large rooms. Convenient breakfast.
The only thing would be the bathroom near the reception was dated.
Excellent location, very comfy beds, and great facilities.
Room was clean. Staff were very friendly. Convenient location for the town centre
The proximity to the town. We liked Gunnedah itself very much.
The room was clean and adequate. The drain in the bathroom sink was close to blocked. When it eventually cleared it made a loud repetitive noise. We discovered this about 9.15pm. The documentation in the room stated that the owners/managers were available 24/7 so we rang to ask them to bring a plunger to clear the blockage. It seems we woke them around 9.30pm. We would not have rung at that time had we known they retired early. A woman came to our room, without a plunger. When I told her the water eventually drained she said it was working and we shouldn’t have rung her. We were shocked. When we repeated that it wasn’t working and that we were concerned that the noise would interfere with our sleep, she told us that we had been problematic guests because we asked for so much. We had no idea what she was talking about. It eventually transpired that we were ‘problem guests’ because before making the booking some days/weeks earlier we had called them two or three ties to check that the rooms were on the ground floor, that the TV was not mounted from the ceiling and to be reassured that the room and furnishings would be free of animal hairs. These are important issues for us because one of us has Parkinson’s disease and the other has lung disease (Bronchiectasis) and an arthritic neck. When we suggested that she could learn from other motel managers she told us, not once but twice, that she was the best in the country. At that point we realised that we were not this woman’s problem. We said “OK, good night” and gently closed the door.We were flabbergasted. We decided not to avail ourselves of the breakfast that was included in our tariff for fear of being abused again. We are two women, 75 and 80 years of age. It will not surprise us if the owners’ response to this truthful account is defensive. That would be in keeping with the behaviour we experienced.
