Diggers Tavern

Nice staff, in center of town.

Room very basic, but clean. Needed to carry luggage up stairs. About midnight, a rowdy bunch of guys woke us up. No staff around after hours.

We have stayed here before. Still all good. Our thanks must go to the staff who managed to find a number of items we left behind, & had them posted to us. Overall a good experience.

Super convenient location right in the heart of town. The motel rooms are set at the back away from the main street so very quiet as well. Room was spacious and very clean with good range of facilities eg microwave, fridge etc

Cheap and cheerful accommodation at a great pub with friendly staff and fantastic meals.

Lovely bright room, extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. Located in the centre of town making for easy exploring. We enjoyed a beer and nachos in the beer garden.

The convenience of the position in the main street and easy access to the pub.

The rooms are very old and smell... perhaps mould? There was no window to allow fresh air in. The access from the carpark is up awkward steps. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.The pub has been renovated after a fire. They now need to do the rooms.

Plenty of parking, big room with good supplies of condiments and cereal. Close to hotel facilities.

Nothing all was perfect

Good basic accommodation, don't expect too much, adequate for 1 or 2 nights.

A bit musty, relying on aircon without being able to open windows, aircon was a bit musty.

Well located in the main street of Bellingen.

The hallway and room were a little musty smelling but there had been a lot of rain before my stay. It was not overpowering.

Biscuits and milk were plentiful. The room was quiet. The rain shower head pumped out a nice flow and at a nice temperature. The manager was friendly. I remember seeing The Warumpi Band at the Bellingen RSL in 1986. The RSL was converted in Diggers and our room was where the old dance floor was located.

The bistro was supposed to be open on the night we stayed. It was not, meaning we had to go to the only open cafe in Bellingen on a Monday night, the restaurant at The Federal Hotel. As the only food outlet open in Bellingen on a Monday evening, it was packed and we waited 45 minutes to get our nice, but slightly overpriced meal. Also, when will motel operators understand that it is costing them much more money in water and electricity, for people like me, to have to shave in the shower, then to replace sink plugs, stolen by people from bad homes? The continental breakfast consisted of eight micro packets of cereal, a few tiny cartons of milk and some fruit juice. It was nice, but we are almost all the cereal, before becoming full. Our room was a family room with eight beds. There was not enough to satisfy a canary on a diet. Finally, I understand that there was a fire at Diggers last year. That may explain the mouldy carpet smell in the foyer.

It’s just got a good vibe and the staff are really friendly. It’s also really clean and comfortable.

Location was good. Room was spacious and clean.

A group of what sounded like youths made a loud, long, aggressive racket for about 40 minutes from about 1am in the morning. It was hard to tell whether it was in the building or next to the Tavern. The smell of cigarettes was strong as you came into the motel part of the Tavern, but was fortunately not in the room were we stayed. Pillows were very hard, but the bed was comfortable.

It was central, very clean and room spacious. I liked the large windows where you could see out to some scenery. Because of the fire the place was not at full routine but the lady was very helpful.

Parking but at least did not have to pay for overnight.

Spacious room but obviously the entry was difficult up the stairs out the back but realise it was due to a fire as the fact there is no restaurant on site due to fire ..

The property is very old school, pub style, but the room and bathroom were very clean, the bed very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Suited our needs for a simple overnight stay.
