    Pros +

    • Clean, maintained, two night stay, no problems, except no Internet for phones, hotel wifi not really working for us
    • I had breakfast in cabin
    • The bed was very comfortable. The rooms are looking abit tired. It is a shame that a lot of the facilities are closed.

    Cons -

    • The tv remote!
    • Even though TV operation instructions were followd I couldn't get the TV to work in my cabinThe hot water tap in kitchen didn't have its turning knob attached,
    • All of Leigh Creek, sadly, is looking worse for wear. I understand that following closure of the mine, the entire operation is marginally economic.

The motel room (upper level) is a little spartan, but comfortable for one seeking to escape the rain after more than a month camping.

All of Leigh Creek, sadly, is looking worse for wear. I understand that following closure of the mine, the entire operation is marginally economic.

The room was a decent size and the staff were very accommodating of our late arrival.

As others have mentioned, the heat pumps are and bit old and noisy so it's hard to have it on overnight when you're sleeping.

Very quiet place and nice atmosphere

The rooms are a little dated. I wasnt informed about the breakfast at check in as you need to book in advance. There was no manual with facilities and services in the room.

Leigh Creek is a very strange place. Although the town is only 40 years old and is lovely to look at - there is no-one here anymore. The population is below 100 although the town itself was built for thousands. It almost feels like a ghost town, but the place is spotless and there is obviously a lot of civil pride about, just no people. Our stay was enjoyable. Strange but.

The room was comfortable, it was quiet, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was good quality.

The shower support was not stable and the furniture a little old.

Decor a bit tired. No internet connection

    Size of room.

Most everything. Dirty, run down, looked like nobody cared. No shower curtain, no wash cloths, no tea towels, 1 fork, dirty cutlery tray, bugs crawling around inside, np wardrobe of any description, it goes on.

    Dinner was good

A long way from facilities and lots of empty cabins. Could have been placed much closer.

    The tavern meals were tasty

In disrepair. No privacy curtains. Carpet ripped up windows were filthy. The heater had a bed in front of it rendering it useless. Entrance concrete was broken up. No outdoor area. The grill and microwave were filthy. The bathroom fan has not been cleaned in years. Holes in the plaster walls.

Plenty of room, clean and fit for the purpose. Tavern was great for reasonably priced, tasty and filling meals. It also had a good variety.

Wasn’t entirely fitted out for self catering. Not enough warm blankets and very little insulation! (Was very cold when heaters weren’t running).

Fun bar/restaurant and lodging, small town with lots of charm!! Chef Ryan helped us out with our heating in our room, he was knowledgeable about the surroundings and provided great recommendations to us in our adventures ahead. He's a great Chef and person!! Thank you!!

The rmcabins were very spacious, had 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchenettes.

Exhaust wasn't working in one of the bathroom

    5JanPosted on: 6-29-2024

Bed comfortable and clean. Site good for exploring the surrounding areas.

AC very noisy and not effective in heating in A5. Facility is aging and not well maintained. Staff provided portable fan heater for the last 2 nights which was a appreciated.

    7DebbiePosted on: 6-18-2024

Room was clean & comfortable. Good for a night or two. Aircon to the room, for heating was great! Our room still wasn’t quite ready at 4.30pm and the cleaner was still needing to vacuum our room at the time we arrived but he was under pressure due to lack of cleaning staff. He did a great job though & was very apologetic, pleasant & polite.

Dinner at the facility was average at best. Keep the menu simple & if you don’t know how to cook something properly (barramundi was terrible), then don’t have it on the menu. Dinner service was only 5.30pm-7.30pm! We came in a for dinner at 7pm so dessert wasn’t an option as the kitchen had shut up at 7.30 on the dot. Very odd kitchen closing time.

Lovely and comfortable place to stay in the outback. Met all our needs. Room was clean with efficient heating and cooling. Restaurant provided great meal options.

Car parked not outside room directly.

    7JennyPosted on: 6-9-2024

The property was conveniently located, and the room reasonably-priced.

The facilities were basic and quite dated. The air-conditioning/heating was very noisy.

    5IanPosted on: 5-20-2024

    Passable

A big ball of black hair in the sink set the tone. No toaster, no frying pan etc etc. no bedside table or lamp for one of two travellers. I think we lost a key and have been charged $47 for a replacement I presume. Considering the state of the place and the hair ball etc that seemed a bit rich!
