Joondalup City Hotel

Location in Joondalup.

I arrived from Geraldton, 5 hours drive and the reception was closed at 5:15pm. They need longer hours at reception desk. Also they took the payment from my credit card when I organized to pay at check-in. This was not done as reception was not there.

Although it is an average hotel we found that the stay there was most pleasant. The staff were extremely helpful, always looked after us and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We had travelled all the way from QLD and this was the best.

Quite pricey as in the cleanness is not as good.

Friendly welcome and customer service, received a free upgrade which was a wonderful surprise when I checked in. The room was comfortable and met my needs.

Some late night noise from other guests, especially their doors closing loudly. It wasn't ongoing but possibly being a weekend they coming back from being out.

I liked the secure parking and ease of access.

No food availability

This was like an individual room backpackers with no kitchen or general meeting area. Staff were very nice and helped when needed. This is a very basic accommodation style hotel. The bathroom was not particularly clean and was not cleaned while I was there. Hairdryer didnt work, tv was standard not smart and quite old. Staff were lovely fixing things though, like when tv didnt work.

No breakfast or easy access to cafe's nearby to get any. No room cleaning, fresh towels were supplied on 3rd day.

Cheap and convenient.

Ran out of car parks (went at very busy time).Suss stains on the cushions.

Location was good for general access. A 5 min walk to the city centre.

Old, rundown, room was very dirty. Covered in dust, smears on walls, clogged drains, dried liquid on cabinets and shower walls in bathroom. Hair on floor, behind toilet, tv cabinet. Surfaces dirty and dried door stains. Lamp cords bent with exposed wires. Windows bale to open but no fly screens.Ended up buying cleaning wipes, bucket and sponges and did a self clean. Kitchen things supplied dirty, broken and just cheap items from Kmart.It’s not hard to keep a small room clean and tidy.If staff were there they were disinterested and not very receptive, often engaged in other activities.Signage of things advertised online doesn’t match what is offered - times are different, what is provided is different. It’s just a shame as I’ve stayed there previously many years ago and had such a good experience.

The room was comfortable but noisy. I could hear the lift across the hall and the bar fridge sounded like an air compressor in the cupboard. The toilet also made a strange noise like a dog lapping water from a bowl. I didn't know what was making the noise but got back to sleep after closing the bathroom door.

The scariest place I've ever spent the night.

The place is literally a drug den after sunset. Drug addicts were screaming in the hallway and destroying other rooms.

While the staff were lovely, we experienced repeated encounters with baby cockroaches throughout our room. We found them in the bathroom, near the fridge, and crawling on the floor. This significantly impacted our stay and made it difficult to relax as I personally have sensory issues triggered by bugs... and paying 300 cash deposit and room itself over 250 me and my partner was well dissapointed...

the hotel was extremely noisy, loud exhaust fans, not sound proof like other hotels. You could hear people talking as if they were in your room. Very noisy guests at 2am. unfortunately not the best experience

Bad

This hotel has bed bugs I woke up with bed bugs bites all over me after staying here.And my vehicle was broken into while in the hotel carpark

Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy bed. Coffee, tea, microwave and fridge all supplied. Plenty of off street parking

Over priced. $410 for 2 nights is excessive.

After-hours check in took ages and we were given the wrong room key. Otherwise the property was good and the beds are comfy
