- Space, view & modern style are really good. Parking direct at Appartment. Good starting point for trails.
- Location
- Nice olde worlde hotel, great location and great facilities
Cons -
- The hotel was older and needed updating. The shower dripped all night and there was rust and mildew in the bathroom.
- They need more staff ands new chef
- No fault of the hotel but the prior storm forced the closure of the hot pools which was the reason for our staying there. The hotel had no power but was resilient in having their own generator. Its a great location with the golf course, hot pools and proximity of many tourist interest spots. Just bad luck on the day. Was disappointed that the hamburger, which was billed as having beetroot, didn't. Breakfast Chef was very helpful.

Room was bigger than expected and having a private spa out back was good.Great spot to stay with restaurant, pools and golf course all there.
Parts of the place were a little dated
Breakfast was nice, danishes were soft and fresh. The room was like the pictures, the bathroom was a bit smaller than we thought but clean
We forgot to give feedback as we didn't know the hot pools were getting cleaned on the day we arrived, however we had 24hr access which was good. However the lights on the bottom hot pools weren't working, so it was really dark. It looked like there were some there. Sometimes these things happen, just unfortunate it happened when we were there.
Charming old-style hotel - lovely setting and veranda, and the springs.
Bathroom was quite small, an hot water not totally reliable the first afternoon, but then was fine. Cleaning staff failed to make up the room on the last day.
Lovely setting, good food, great breakfast and great hot pools to soak in.
The location and grounds are wonderful, peaceful, scenic. The hot spring pools were great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant dinner was delicious, the ambiance was great. The pub was relaxing and a great way to meet locals and converse or play pool.
I understand that being an older resort there are maintenance issues. However, the shower curtain was not long enough and water splashed onto the floor, causing the floor to be soaked which will be a long term issue unless rectified. An addition of protein to the continental breakfast would be appreciated, maybe cold cuts, cheese and hard boiled egg.
Dinner was very good.Room was warm
We booked a room with a double bed and got 2 single beds pushed together, very uncomfortable and only the 1 bed had a n electric blanket on.This hotel allows for functions and on our particular stay the party moved to one of the rooms and was unbelievably loud, with loud music. If you do this then try and have the accommodation far away from where the hotel guest stay or have at least a policy in place that no loud noise after 10PM, we tried to phone reception at 11:45pm to get hold of someone and could not.We had to leave early the next day (7:30) and no breakfast available before 8am also no drop box to leave the key, everything to the main part of the hotel was locked. At dinner there was some kids banging on a piano - overall this is not a place to go to on a weekend, to spend time in the hot pools and to relax.
Beautiful Decore, very well renovated. Lovely lounge room and dining.Excellent dinner and modest breakfast with a variety to select from. A real piece of history. The staff were delightful. Will definitely revisit.
The lighting down to the hot pools really needs upgrading, rather poor. The lounge and hotel area closed so early (9.00pm) on a Saturday evening. Holiday weekend and the hotel was full?
Spacious and clean room.
We booked a room with private spa but our room was in the block of rooms with private spa except we don’t have one for our room. When we approached the owner/manager he said it’s booking.com being idiotic and put us in our room. Our room number is 7. It’s at the end of the block. The public hot pool temperature is too cold for our liking, 38 degrees according to the owner/manager, but it feels more like 35, maybe 36. The public pool was not clean.
Lots of old world charm, comfortable lounge areas, great breakfast.
Small room.
Lovely quiet location, very relaxing. Lovely old hotel. We had a very nice evening meal and continental breakfast had plenty to choose from.
Would love some walks especially around perimeter of golf course and down to river. The river by hot pools is spectacular and a viewing platform and boardwalk would be fabulous.
Monty the friendly dog.
The owners, shower, wifi, flies, room, toilet, fridge, would never stay there again.
Facilities around the hotel - golf course, hot pool, pool table.Bar and evening meal options.
Badly leaking shower which despite tons of towels put underneath still drenched them and noise started again. Long weekend so plumber not around the corner!
Lovely hotel steeped in history ,good food and wide range of beverages.Enjoyed the hot springs and the quaint peaceful countryside location.
The staff were great
The lack of cleanliness in our room and the food ordered was not worth it
A fabulous fun trip - enjoyed golf, meeting new people. Delicious food, especially the mussels and delightful breakfast (including freshly cooked date scones). Wonderful staff, great hosts, ie Derek, his beautiful wife and welcoming staff. The Springs at Okoroire are so soothing - what more is there to say, other than to enjoy one of Aotearoa’s charming Hotels.
The location was lovely, food was great and staff helpful, but the room was very dated, the bathroom was not in good condition with shower attachment literally falling off the wall and in need of general renovation. The price of the room was excessive considering the condition of the room.
