    Pros +

    • Our hosts, Andre and Therese, were amazing :) :) They were always available and keen to help us when needed. They showed us around where we could go for walks and pick fruit :) On one of our walks we came upon some mandarin trees and picked some of the mandarins. It was sweet and juicy. They offered to take us to see the glow worms which was a great experience. The swimming pool, which was actually 3 swimming holes in the stream / river was great!! We enjoyed kayaking which was super cool. An extra bonus was that the water wasn't cold at all !! We stayed in a dormitory which was basically one room for 4 people. We had a double bed and 1 bunk bed which suited us, 4 adults, perfectly. Table and chairs with a small counter and fridge was very nice.
    • Beautiful spot with a great swimming hole. The host was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house is pretty old but had everything we needed for a great stay. Detailed folder with information on what to do in the area. That was awesome!
    • Location, the space and the view from our deck

    Cons -

    • Although there was a kettle in the kitchen you had to get water from the communal kitchen. The movies(CD) were very old and we were also not able to watch it on the Cable TV in our room. The bathrooms were nice and tidy but we were not happy with the showers. One shower in the ladies bathroom and 2 in the communal kitchen(had to walk inside to use the showers). The water would turn warm and cold whilst in the shower. The shower mat was very hard to stand on. The showers in the communal kitchen had carpets and you would step out on a soaking wet mat. In the entertainment area the one wall definitely needed some repair. A pity there wasn't a TV either. The kayaking was fun, but the life jackets were worn out. No lighting to the bathrooms at night. Loose cable on the ground for power to the communal lounge / entertainment area. The brochure/ ad need to be updated to mention swimming holes and not an outdoor pool, details of the current owners.
    • The double bed in the larger room was not very comfortable. Some noxious weeds around the swimming hole would need to be dealt to before they proliferate...
    • Hot water supply was a bit erratic!

Great family stay. All the facilities were clean, tidy and very user friendly. The large lounge room kept the teenagers entertained at night. The swimming hole was absolutely stunning. All in all a brilliant place to stay.

There was nothing we didn't like. The driveway was a little scary the first time down but just took our time and it was fine.

quite location out in the bush and river

just make sure to use a good insect repellent product with more insects around the area

    7JanetPosted on: 1-22-2026

Set in lovely surroundings close to the creek. Many facilities to enjoy with a family.

The water in the shower was very low pressure.

The accommodation is set by a quiet river and was a nice place to relax. We used the BBQ and enjoyed a peaceful stay.Kayaks and life jackets were free to use, which was great for spending time with the kids. The hosts were very kind, and in the evening they showed us a nearby forest where we could see glow worms.Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. It was great value for money, and we’d love to visit again.

This place is truly magical! We are a family of 5 and stayed in a dorm room for 4 nights. There are green hills around and a creek with kayaks! The common area is very nice with TV, pool table, ping pong table and some board games. Plenty of grass for the kids to run around and bbq spots. There is a trampoline which was perfect for our kids. The shared kitchen is fully equipped. Womens bathroom was in good condition, mens could be cleaner. There is a little distance between the restrooms and the dorm rooms which is not that great when kids wake up in the middle of the night and need to walk outside in the dark. Come with insect repellent since this place is the middle of nature and there are some mosquitoes and a few sand flies.

Location is really good, facilities are perfect for a vacation.

Room needs to clean as spider web on the windows, dust and turmite nest on window curtain in room 3.

Everything was perfect!Andree and Therese were amazing, help with everything. The place is clean and you can find whatever you need in the kitchen. We recommend and really want to come again.

Beautiful hidden location by a river. Perfect to relax and visit the area.André was super nice and took me on a small evening walk with thousands of glowworms! Absolutely beautiful.

    10NeilPosted on: 10-5-2025

The owners and staff were welcoming and helpful. The setting of the accommodation was great. The activities for the children were great too. Having the river/kayaks and games room to use. Lots of local/area information avaliable in the rooms.

    10MariannePosted on: 9-29-2025

Loved the location and activities available. If you didnt want to leave the lodge there were plenty of things to do - perfect for a family.Andre was a wonderful and helpful host.

Nice private location, has everything you need with a nice webber bbq on the front deck. Very clean and tidy with friendly staff and neighbours

    8MichaelPosted on: 5-25-2025

Pleasant budget accommodation in quiet, country location not far from the sea. Staff helpful and informative.

Cleanliness wasn’t great. Needed a good vacuum, particularly under beds, sofas and sofa cushions. Lacking sufficient basic cleaning items like cloths, antibacterial sprays and additional bin bags. Shower tended to cycle between hot and cold.

    8SarahPosted on: 4-30-2025

The bbq, the kitchen, trampoline/games room, the river, the privacy, nature sounds ,beautiful bathroom

Bugs, no wifi, no tv but used phone as a wifi hotspot and they supplied dvds which was great

    7CindyPosted on: 4-22-2025

Beautiful surroundings, sound of the river is so calm and peaceful, staff are very friendly and helpful. Kids LOVED the trampoline and play area.

The shower water is unreliable… temperature varies within seconds and water pressure slows completely. No WiFi or TV in lodge. More storage/ packing place for clothes would be good.

    10TayliaPosted on: 2-8-2025

Loved the scenery the river and kayaks were such a bonus the owners were lovely and very accommodating to our late arrival

    Nothing it was all great!

    9TherealrobertbirchallPosted on: 2-5-2025

Splendid location peaceful in a dramatic setting in a tropical george above a river. The manager, Manie, was very helpful, above and beyond his normal duties.

The road to the lodges is not sealed. It's fine for a 4 wheeler or a light motorcycle, but it is not suitable for a heavy touring motorcycle. The text editor on this site is terrible.

I really liked the family friendly atmosphere, the staff were really great to make sure we were comfortable, good relaxing time with swimming in the river even our toddler liked it, will definitely return
