    Pros +

    • Nice bay, the camp had all the amenities you need.
    • The view is amazing ?. It's such a beautiful getaway place. Partner and i haven't had us time since before I got pregnant ( I had a very bad experience with pregnancy and had to be on bedrest for most of the time). Our 4 month old baby was well-behaved and loved looking at the trees ? . We had a perfect weekend. Thank you, guys. I definitely will save this place for our next getaway trip.
    • clean kitchen and toilet

    Cons -

    • It’s a little out of the way (which can’t be helped). We didn’t appreciate having to pay for wifi.
    • coin payment system shower. ladies bathroom No.5 not working , hot water shower time not even 6 mins as stated. I put 2 coins but the time not doubled. What a Stress shower experience! Room has a lot of insects , countless … understand that it is near to bushes . 1st time sleep with so many insects around you .
    • This was the wrong accommodation for our group, although it was advertised as being a cabin for 6 adults it was not big enough for our group of 5 adults and 1 baby and although we paid for 2 nights we ended up only staying one night.

The spot was a really nice, quiet, secluded tidal bay and the accommodation was right on the waterfront with amazing views, the accommodation was clean, and some staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic stay, the true sense of humor of Des straight away made our start to our holiday.the cabin was cosy had everything we needed and was lovely. The beach right there was awesome and the Kauri walk and beach walk after low tide made our day. Can't wait to be back

That we had to go home

Position of cabin looking out over the bay was awsomeA nice and quiet locality

Two of the mens showers were mal functioning

Lovely location right on the beach front. Glorious walks and ancient Kauri to explore nearby.Comfortable accomodation with a nice kiwi bach vibe

Bathroom facilities are an ensuite of one of the double bedrooms. Two couples staying in the accomodation so a few midnight strolls to the public toilet handily located just across the way was a solution to avoid disturbing and had the bonus of star watching the spectacular night sky

    Bad

Staff are rude especially to Māori. Not welcoming at all and bed in family room has bed mites. Will not be staying here again

Leeanne went out of her way to help us, We were booked Friday and Saturday night but at the last-minute decided to come the night before. Too easy. Exceptional service and facilities

Location was awesome. A lovely picturesque bay and a good safe swimming spot. We also took the short bush walk-alive with cicadas and birds and a big old Kauri tree. The site was busy, but the main kitchen was clean and organised. Communal Showers (operated by using a $1 coin) were fabulous-hot and a good strength and lasted for ages. Our cabin had its own kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, TV and washing up sink

If you need the loo during the night-you need to go outside. We knew this before we booked so we were just glad it wasn’t raining!Cabin was basic, no easy chairs. Fridge rattles away in the night.

We stayed in Shepards hut called a chalet, a small Hutt, with good bed, small table and 2 chairs, cutlery, crockery, fridge and even a TV. Need to bring your linen but could lay on the bed or sit on the chairs looking out to the activity of the beach. Awesome.

Nothing to do with property, but all to do with the tides….During peak holidays it is a boating Mecca, so boats leaving to catch the tide, in our case 4.30am!

A beautiful spot to stay, nice clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff

Loved the cabin we stayed in - very affordable for the price and a beautiful night we chose to visit! Our cabin was spacious, comfortable, had a beautiful view! Absolutely no complaints.

The lovely little Shepard hut on the hill was well kitted out with everything we needed for a short stay here. The view was excellent.

    8MorvenPosted on: 12-9-2024

    Loved the location, adequate facilities.

The mattress was very stained, was our only complaint.

    7TracyPosted on: 11-28-2024

Location was great. Right on the beach. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Paying for showers as this was not advised on any booking site or their website that we could find.

    6NapaphatPosted on: 11-25-2024

Very nice staff and good scenery definitely back again

We have experience disturb sleeping from another group of guests turn on the music till almost midnight. It would be great if the host make sure after the certain of time all the guest not being outside if they stay up.

    9StephaniePosted on: 11-20-2024

Absolutely fantastic view. Great 30mins walk from camp.

Cabin could have a bit more cooking equipment

    7KarenPosted on: 11-7-2024

    Exceptional location on the waterfront.

Difficult for those in the second bedroom to have to go through the first bedroom to access the only bathroom.
