    Pros +

    • Beautiful location. Spacious accommodation with views to die for. Wish we could have stayed longer.
    • Lovely spot , next to the vines . Spacious room with a good sized balcony. Nice breakfast. Very helpful lady on check in. We really enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting with Graham , the owner. We stayed after we checked out to do this at 11 am
    • beautiful outlook and private balcony which is super peaceful after a busy day.. the supplied continental breakfast was very appreciated and thoughtful - and so handy for us with our early start.

    Cons -

    • Everything great
    • rooms are quite close to main road but after 10pm road quietens down. I had a large van and found it quite stressful to get in and out of the parking area as there was a very narrow gap and very little room to move my vehicle. also the room gets super light in the morning as the higher windows dont have curtains.. didnt worry us as we were up early but could be an issue for others.
    • Some improvements to kettle, toaster also non smart TV

Lovely setting outside town. Very comfortable bed, nice touch with continental breakfast. Only one night so unfortunately we missed wine and gin tasting.

We arrived early to the Vineyard and although we weren't able to check in yet, we dropped the car and started off on our winery tour for the day! As guests of the villas, we were given a free tasting at Margrain wines which was lovely! The owner was very generous, and quite funny. We then spent the afternoon walking (although some ride bikes) up the road stopping in at wineries for tastings before ending up at Luna for live music. The accommodation was perfect location for visiting some wineries on foot and the room had everything we needed! We would love to come back again!

The property was several minutes drive out of Martinborough but felt a world away. Lovely to sit on the back deck for breakfast and watch the fairy wrens flit in and out of the wild raspberries.Housekeeping was top notch with all breakfast supplies topped up daily. The villa was comfortable and quiet, nestled between vineyards.

Good location, nice views from personal terrace although bushes could do with a trim. Fairly good breakfast. Spacious and comfortable. Stayed three days - nice to receive free wine tasting for both of us.

Never anybody at the office and breakfast could be improved.

It was in a beautiful setting and really enjoyed being able to sit outside while overlooking the vines. Having the breakfast included was great and definitely a big plus!

It was a nice working vineyard and we got an interesting tour around the plantations, with a lot of stories and history of the region and the current operation. They serve a wonderfull platter after as well in a nice setting.

From our hutt there was no view of vine plants, but still a nice balcony overall. Although the complementary vine tasting was not available if you stay one night, not coordinated with check-in and check-out time.

    Location, outside deck and room

Microwave oven would have been extremely useful

Comfy bed, early check in, close to most wineries, awesome big balcony, yum continental brekkie, nice size room and daily cleaning.

Small TV, couch was a bit old and lumpy, no shower door (floor quite wet after showering but daily cleaning helped)

Breakfast met our needs, nice outlook from balcony, spacious

Good location, walking distance to town, and set within the vineyards :)

    Hearing next door snoring!

    9ArthurPosted on: 1-17-2026

Loved the location as it was peaceful and calm. Very private too. The breakfast was a good selection of cereals, great coffee and good to have orange juice too! The breakfast certainly set us up for the day. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very well serviced each day.

The only downside was the shower with the leakage of water outside the shower cubicle. It was difficult to walk out of the shower onto a dry floor, even with an extra bathmat. Not a major issue however and did not affect our wonderful stay at Margrain Villas.

we were upgraded at no extra cost, the room was luxurious , a historic villa room sensitively upgraded and modernised. location was close to Martinborough. every facility in the room/bathroom was carefully thought through and tastefully appointed. BBQ set, private outside tables/chairs as well as inside.

Lovely private balcony, Wine tasting included Breakfast included

    Only thing sofa was uncomfortable

Lovely big room with super comfy bed. Impressed getting a continental breakfast as didn't expect that. Lovely big shower but it could do with a shelf in it to hold shampoo etc. Great outlook and private. Outside a bit tired but accomodation had a very welcoming vibe. Staff were super helpful when I stubbed my toe. Really enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.

Just missing a shelf in shower
