Brackenridge Country Retreat & Spa

The cottage was well-equipped including cooking setup and TV. It is dog-friendly and we brought our doggies along. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and I also booked in and had a lovely spa treatment. Well-located close to the town centre and all the wineries.

Just as a suggestion, it would be cool if you could fence off a small part of the property as a 'dog paddock' where people can let their dogs run around off-lead (supervised). However, there is a dog park a few blocks away, where we were able to take them.

One of the windows in the second bedroom wouldn't shut properly so the room was colder at night.

The Brackenridge cottages are well located near Martinborough and the vineyards. The two bedroom cottages are well spaced, and a very good size with two bathrooms - both with under floor heating. The laundry facilities in the cottage were excellent, as were the continental breakfast provisions. The gym and pool facilities were also excellent.

The walls of the pool appear to need a good clean as they were stained but the water quality was good.

Well furnished studio space. Would be great to do as a group because you could share the green space linking the patios. Great cook your own breakfast provided. Underfloor heating in the bathroom.

Huge shower space, but with a tiny shower head. Slightly tired cupboards etc in the kitchenette area. Freezer box frosted over so couldn't use.

The location was great and private

I had to request the food for breakfast as it wasn’t in the room, there were multiple cockroaches that we had to remove and the chimney had air coming down it which kept me awake most of the night.

The bed was amazing! Giant and so luxurious. Staff were helpful and friendly. We got a free upgrade from studio to cottage which was fab. Cottage was very cute and comfortable and I loved being able to have a hot bath after a day hiking. I also enjoyed my morning swim in the 20m long pool.

Amazing room with a fireplace and fresh supplies for making breakfast. Nice quiet and peaceful location. Many accommodation options with studios or cottages.

There was nothing we didn't like.

As per usual when we've stayed there it was great. Unfortunately we had a discovered leaking faucet in our bathroom at 9 pm , within 10 minutes we were in another room. That was awesome, especially so late on a Saturday night.

Nothing bad at all, just keep up the same great service.

Brackenridge has a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing setting. We got married there in 2022 and this is our first time back and we had such a nice time in the cottage with the fire on.We had a couples massage on the first night which was a great way to relax into our weekend.

Loved our stay, had a couples massage which was fantastic and had a wonderful night at the accommodation.

The lack of cleanliness. Bugs in corners, dust all over the blinds and counters. I just think they need to spend a few more minutes checking out the little details and run a duster over things. I still really enjoyed our time there.

Excellent value for money for the midweek specials. Very comfortable and well-appointed room with en suite, and comfortably warm on a cold winter's day. The lap pool was a wonderful bonus.

Breakfast was amazing, bed was comfortable. Room was bigger than expected and for what we paid it was better than what I was expecting

The only thing I can fault is that they didn't get back to me with a online question. But hay we are only human and we miss things at times

Pool was cool

We stayed in a studio which was spacious with a lounge seating area and a small table for dining, in addition to a well-stocked kitchenette with supplies for cooking. The breakfast supplied was more than just a continental one with eggs, muesli, milk, nice bread, spreads, juice, and filter coffee - all local produce. The beds were particularly comfortable. The location itself was an easy 5-minute drive from Martinborough Square and was very quiet. Highly recommend for a stay any time of the year.

We’ve stayed before and love the cosiness of the rooms. Fireplaces and underfloor heating make it lovely for hunkering down in mid winter.

We can see it is starting to need a little TLC.
