Pros +
- The hotel is lovely, and the staff were most kind including making lunch and dinner reservations for us.
- Location is perfect, near lots of restaurants and wineries. Garden suites are large with a private outdoor seating area and a nice communal green. Private parking lot available as well
- Location is excellent and the staff are brilliant. Our room was absolutely fantastic too!
Cons -
- It is slightly expensive, there are cheaper options available
- Room advertised as a “suite” accessing a “private” garden. However it was only a room with bathroom (not a suite) and the garden was only the general garden of the hotel - there was no private space associated with the room. The WiFi was very poor and the TV didn’t load properly. We mentioned a number of issues to various staff members but while each was sympathetic they offered no compensation against the costs of this expensive room.

They provide earplugs to help cover up the noise from the bars on the street below.
Not very comfortable sleeping with earplugs in...
Location large room nice bed.
Sound proofing is not as good as it could be.
Great location on the square but not noisy. Very comfortable and attractive room and ample off street parking. Close to some excellent restaurants.
Lovely heritage building beautiful high ceilings and furnishings. Central to town square and vineyards. All walkable
Would have been useful to have a safe in room
Lovely setting on the town square. Beautiful old style property with fixtures and fittings to match. Great restaurant and bar serving tasty local food. If visiting on a Sunday, I recommend the Sunday roast.
Location very good , restaurant food excellent & staff very efficient.
We sat in the bar area & had a coffee , the music was quite loud.!!
Lovely old hotel with nice restaurant below
a bit noisy above the restaurant until at least 11 pm or so
It’s a great location, very central to restaurants etc. We were in a garden suite which was really nice and very quiet.
Great location in the centre of Martinborough Beautiful heritage room in a stunning historic building
A separate breakfast area would be a good addition
+ perfect location in the middle of the town + vineyards within walking distance+ we had a nice room with balcony + the building was beautiful
- no air conditioning
Lovely meal in the evening and room was excellent. I had asked for 2 singles but it didn’t matter
all was fabulous, Amy in reception was excellent
Amazing stay! I even dreamt about how great the bed was. Great service from Janine at check in, beautiful room , will be back!
Nice large space with big bathroom area, lots of light
Could have had more comfortable sitting, would have also been good to be in the hotel area and not in another building. Restaurant food was not good, this is the second time I have had a poor meal at the restaurant and will not go back again. The pub area food is always really good.
The location was fantastic and we loved the hotel and how it was beautifully decorated and maintained. The staff very friendly and helpful. I really liked the outside area at the back of the hotel, nice gardens and great to have a place we cojld park off the road.
The room was lovely but very very hot. We were upstairs and even tho we had the ceiling fan going all night it was very hot. We did not have a window we could open. Our friends room which was at the front of the hotel was very noisy overnight and the outside light was very bright which shone thru the curtains. They also found it very hot in their room - even though they had a window they could open. The restaurant was nice, even tho the staff were very nice and friendly the service was very slow. There were not too many people in the restaurant at the time but they took a long time to bring our drinks. My dinner was really nice - I had the periperi chicken but my partner had the goodness bowl and there was just too much dressing. My friend had the Tempura Prawns but the batter was very very thick.
Loved the very comfortable bed, beautiful landscaping, quiet, friendly and helpful staff, appreciated having a parking lot for the car
The room was beautiful, even had a little balcony!Spent a lot of time at the hotel which served delicous drinks and food, always with a smile!
