Pros +
- Everything. The location, size of the room and the bed, the cleanliness, the staff and the facilities. We will certainly be back.
- Great quiet location to wander around Akaroa. The room was clean and spotless. Super friendly staff. Very helpful.
- A really good, quiet, comfortable room, in a hotel located only a very short, convenient walk to the main street of Akaroa past historic buildings. Added bonus: some guest-house flower gardens over the road were still in bloom - extraordinary! Another bonus: French-speaking hosts - Merci pour votre aimable hospitalité!
Cons -
- The WiFi snafu was unwelcome and took a fair while to resolve, even though it was immediately clear a quick router reboot would solve the problem. Fortunately, all went very well after that.
- Found it was easy to find and return to after out walking or driving round the town, very polite staff and great to talk to about the area.
- Room a bit tired but not bad. We booked for 4 pax but had to return to office for additional bedding as this had not been pre stocked in room which felt unwelcoming/disorganised. We stayed over a long weekend that included public holidays and staff couldn't conclusively advice if shops would be open, this surprised me as they live there and should know this to be able to advise visitors. Overall the room met our needs but is pricey for what you get. I def wouldn't consider this 'affordable luxury' like the sign states... ie not luxury, but is sufficient.

Had everything we needed even though we didn't spend much time in our room. Just a few step to the "Esplanade".
Heaps of marks on living space seatings. Very outdated furniture. Laundry bags lying outside all day. Overall that place could do with a fresh paint and some new furniture. Be careful, some of the rooms are not private unless you close your curtains and blinds. We could look straight into the rooms when parking and walking up to our room. Overall, too pricey for what you get in my opinion.
Location, staff friendliness and a very comfortable bed and room.
Please clean behind the spa head rests before a new guest stays.
Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Good location to walk to the waterfront.
Need to check all the equipment is in the room, eg the lead to the electric appliance was missing, but was sorted very quickly.
Close to town. Bed was comfortable.
Did not see a staff member the whole time we were there, so could not ask for tips regarding things to do and places to eat at. Carpet in lounge area was dirty, dirty towel left in bathroom. Couch was very uncomfortable to sit on appears worn out. Dirty paper towels on the window sill in the lounge area. For the money we paid you would have expected better.
the spa pool
staff were not overly friendly, view not very good, room very dusty, couch very uncomfortable, only could get half the sky channels, to expensive for what it is, needs to be updated quite old looking
Location was great and we know it was the last room available for last minute but there was big cobwebs, broken curtain and lots of stains on the carpet and the bed had roll together so when I pay quite a bit u expect more to
As above
The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. It was perfectly situated for our needs.
The carpet needed cleaning.
Akaroa is beautiful Staff were helpful
Stained and marked carpet in main area of unit There was no heat pump just a convection heaterNeeded updating
The carpets and lounges were filthy disgusting!! Stained terribly. Worst of seen for this price point. We used the bed throws to cover the couches!! So awful! Check in time is 2 pm . Nobody Was available, another couple waiting also. Twenty minutes later after calling the cell phone contact numbers left in reception (no reply to phone calls). we decided to leave and explore the beautiful town. Kitchen was clean, bedding was clean. Also no aircon just a fan in the room. Not enough car parking on sight. Had to park further down the road and parking on the street is limited. Wouldn’t recommend. You’ll get better for cheaper!
Good room. Open to the parking area do no privacy when curtains were open. Good location to waterfront but a bit of a walk to other restaurants.
It was gone.
Clean, tidy, well equipped and good location
Location
Carpet old, no aircon or fan, no iron board or iron. Never saw anyone at office, got told where keys was by a fellow resident. Probably would take the word luxury off the signage .
Great location. Helpful staff.
Carpet stains and mould in the bathroom.
Nice clean room with your typical motel facilities and close to restaurants and short walks.
no complaints
Great ground floor room, short walk to beach, nearby natural reserve.
Bed not as comfortable compared to other accommodation for same price.
